Episode 76: Syd is Vicious
At night, Carly asks Jack about being asked to buy a Duel Runner as a gang seems to be smuggling Duel Runners in but Sector Security isn't sure who is behind it and we find where the conversation led to where they are now. Seconds later, a dealership is broken into and more Duel Runners are stolen with Sector Security and later Jack on their tail. However, as Jack is shot at by Syd, another member takes the hit instead and Jack rushes to his aid with Sector Security arriving soon after. To Jack's surprise, the downed man, revealed as Kaz, is an officer that had been trying to get closer to Syd and make Syd feel as though he got away with it. However, Jack sees the officer's Deck and takes the Chaos King Archfiend card to go find Syd.
His search leads him to an area where a man gives him a slip of paper with directions that in turn lead him into a trap. Jack knocks out several of the gang members that surround him but the one from above knocks him out. Jack awakens in the hospital to a scolding by Crow and Jack is lucky considering that most that cross Syd's path end up like Kaz. Nevertheless, Jack gets up and walks out, removing the bandages on his head as Yusei says to let Jack go as he becomes immune to common sense once his mind is made up. Jack again finds himself with the gang members and ends up on the ground once more.
Jack isnt out for long and finds their hideout, explaining that he put a tracking device on the man he pulled out of the truck and Sector Security is on the way. Syd proposes a duel on the conveyor belt where the loser ends up in the trash compactor and Jack accepts. With the duel preparations ready, Jack draws and plays Mad Archfiend (1800) in Attack Mode before setting 1 card to end his turn. Syd draws and summons Assault Wheel (2300) in Attack Mode. He attacks with it, activating its first effect to put MA in Defense Mode. Its 2nd effect deals the difference in points to Jack, leaving Jack defenseless and down to 1700 LPs. Now that AW attacked, its ATK becomes 0 until Syd's next Standby Phase and Syd sets 2 cards to end his turn. Jack draws and Special Summons Vice Dragon (2000) in Attack Mode by its effect, leaving its ATK and DEF down to 1000 and 1200 respectively. Next he uses Polymerization for Multiple Piece Golem (2600) in Attack Mode. (The real card is Level 7.) Then he plays Archfiend Interceptor (1400) in Attack Mode.
His attack with MPG forces Syd to activate Nightmare Wheel to prevent it from attacking or changing positions and dealing Jack 500 damage at each of his own Standby Phases. Jack then attacks with VD but Syd activates Plunder Decoy to gain control of Intercept Demon (It's English name is actually Archfiend Interceptor as mentioned earlier.) At first, Jack opts not to attack but Syd's remark about Kaz changes his mind and attacks to take 500 damage by AI's effect, leaving him down to 1200 but also taking out AW to leave Syd down to 3000 LPs. Syd isn't worried as his conveyor belt has a stopper that'll protect him even if he loses. Worse still, they're actually on a boat that has already left by the time Sector Security and others arrive.
At the duel, Syd draws and Jack takes 500 damage by NW's effect, putting Jack down to 700 LPs. Next, Syd plays Cannon Wheel (500) in Attack Mode and since it's a Tuner monster, he uses it and AI as Synchro Material for Combat Wheel (2500) in Attack Mode. His attack prompts Jack to activate Nightmare Archfiends to Tribute VD and give Syd 3 Nightmare Archfiend Tokens (2000 x3) in Attack Mode. Syd resumes his turn by playing Block Dugout to prevent Jack from attacking since the combined Levels of his monsters is greater than the combined Levels of Jack's monsters. Jack draws and plays Sinister Sprocket (400) in Attack Mode and uses it and MPG as Synchro Material for Chaos King Archfiend (2600) in Attack Mode.

Due to SS' effect, Jack destroys BD but Syd responds by using CW's effect to give it half the ATK of each other monster on his field, raising its ATK by 3000 to 5500. His attack activates CKA's effect to swap the ATK and DEF of each monster, putting CW down to 1200 ATK and destroying it to leave Syd down to 1600 LPs. Since CW was destroyed, Syd's Tokens are destroyed as well, each dealing 800 damage to Syd to win Jack the duel. Syd isn't worried as he has a stopper on his end of the conveyor belt but it breaks and he's still sent hanging in the trash compactor. Nevertheless, Jack frees him and throws him on top of his thuggish friends before Sector Security and the others burst in.Later, Kaz has healed up enough to speak again and Jack gives him back his card. Kaz wants to Turbo Duel Jack and Jack just needs a time and a place and he'll be there.
