| Episode 74: Synchro Solution | |||
|
Outside, while Yusei and Visor take off, Akiza questions Crow letting Yusei go
with someone they don't know about but Crow knows that Yusei will do what he
wants regardless of what they tell him. Down below, Viser wants a race not a
duel and just when it looks like it's going to be a tie, Viser blazes further
ahead and Yusei knows that he has to to do better if he is to get what Viser
knows. After some struggle, Yusei manages to pass step 1 in beating the Ghost.
For step two, Viser gets Turbo Duel preparations underway before Yusei draws and
plays Tricular (300) in Defense Mode, then sets 1
card to end his turn. Viser isn't impressed and draws before Special Summoning the Tuner monster Tech Genus Striker (800) in Attack Mode since Yusei is the only one with monsters. Yusei has never heard of the monster before and Illyaster is watching the duel as well. Next, Viser Special Summons Tech Genus Werewolf (T.G. Warwolf in the CG) (1200) in Attack Mode. Then he uses them as Synchro Material for Tech Genus Gladiator (T.G. Power Gladiator in the CG) (2300) in Attack Mode. After that he plays Tech Genus Cyber Magician (0000) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to use Synchro Materials in his hand to Synchro Summon Tech Genus Wonder Magician (1900) in Attack Mode. His first attack with TGG/TGPG destroys Tricular and leaves Yusei down to 2000 LPs by its effect. However, this activates Tricular's effect to bring out Bicular (200) in Defense Mode. Viser's second attack takes out Bicular to let Yusei Special Summon Unicycular (100) in Defense Mode. Yusei wonders if this is what Viser means or whether there's more to it and draws. He activates Speed Spell - Synchro Diffuse to gain control of one of Viser's Synchros since he himself has at least 2 Speed Counters. Viser is ready however and uses Accel Synchro to use his Synchro Tuner and other Synchro as Synchro Material for Tech Genus Blade Blaster (3300) in Attack Mode. Yusei continues his turn by playing Speed Spell - Angel Baton to draw 2 cards and discard 1 (Quillbolt Hedgehog). Then he plays Drill Synchron (800) in Attack Mode and Special Summons Quillbolt Hedgehog (800) in Attack Mode from his Graveyard since there's a Tuner on his field. Now he uses his monsters as Synchro Material for Drill Warrior (2400) in Attack Mode. After that, he uses DW's effect to halve its ATK and attack Viser directly, leaving it down to 1200 and Viser down to 2800 LPs. Viser was getting bored and draws before attacking but Yusei activates Wave Force to destroy all of Viser's monsters in Attack Mode since a Synchro Monster was attacked but Viser uses TGBB's effect to discard a card and negate the effect. As a result, DW is still destroyed, leaving Yusei down to 1000 LPs but Yusei responds with Miracle's Wake to revive DW in Attack Mode. After some strategizing, Yusei draws and plays Speed Spell - Speed Energy to give DW 200 ATK times his 4 Speed Counters to 3200. Next he plays Gauntlet Warrior (400) in Attack Mode, then tributes it to give his Warriors 500 ATK, putting DW up to 3700. His attack prompts Viser to remove his TGBB from play and take direct damage to lose the duel. The reason why Viser threw the duel will have to wait for another time and he heads off. Meanwhile, Illyaster struggles to come to grips with what happened during the white light and while Yusei found the Synchro Solution, mastering it requires him to push beyond his limits. |
