Episode 68: Trash Talk
Inside the refurbished New Domino City, Crow and Yusei remark on the changes that have taken place before agreeing to a race with Jack. They make a pit stop at Martha's house to check on the younger ones and learn all of good news. Inside, Crow learns of a man named Mr. Bashford that refuses to relocate and offers to help but the kids don't feel Crow knows what he's getting into. As Mr. Bashford reminisces over the disappearance of his son Adam, an alert interrupts him and he races out. Sure enough, the group is there and when Mr. Bashford still refuses, Crow decides to do it by force and ends up falling for multiple traps with third launching him far back onto a Duelist Kingdom-era Dueling Arena where a Two-Headed King Rex has him quivering in fear.

The others arrive and learn that Crow is fine but Mr. Bashford doesn't want him up there regardless of how he got there. Crow suggests a duel and Mr. Bashford doesn't like the idea but agrees when Crow states how much he enjoys it. Mr. Bashford draws and plays Maternal Junk (1500) in Defense Mode, then sets 1 card to end his turn. Crow draws and plays Blackwing - Vayu (rather Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor) (800) in Attack Mode, then Special Summons Blackwing - Bora the Spear (1700) in Attack Mode by its effect. His first attack prompts Mr. Bashford to activate Scrap-Iron Scarecrow to negate the attack and reset itself.

Mr. Bashford draws and gets a brief flashback from a time with Adam before playing Paternal Junk (1600) in Attack Mode. Since MJ is on the field, PJ gains 500 ATK to 2100. Next he plays Junk Factory, giving all Junk monsters on the field 500 ATK, putting PJ up to 2600. His attack with PJ destroys Vayu and leaves Crow down to 2200 LPs but returns Vayu to Crow's Deck by JF's other effect. After that, Mr. Bashford sets 3 cards to end his turn. Crow draws and activates Black-Winged Strafe to discard a Blackwing monster and destroy Mr. Bashford's Defense Mode Maternal Junk but Mr. Bashford counters with Scrap-Iron Barricade to prevent its destruction from card effects this turn before resetting itself.
Nevertheless, Crow summons Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North (1300) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to Special Summon Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame (1200) in Defense Mode but Mr. Bashford activates Scrap-Iron Pitfall to return Shura to Crow's hand since it was Special Summoned to the field, then reset itself like the others. Next, Crow uses Cards for Black Feathers to discard a Blackwing and draw 2 cards. (The real card forces you to remove from play the Blackwing monster.) Then he Special Summons Gale the Whirlwind (rather Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind) (1300) in Attack Mode and uses its other effect to halve PJ's ATK to 1300. His first attack forces Mr. Bashford to activate SIS again.
With that, Crow decides to attack with GtW and discards Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow to give it 1400 ATK (and at 13:09 into the US episode, it and Shuras' cards are not in dub formatting) to 2700. His attack destroys PJ and leaves Mr. Bashford down to 2600 LPs and lowering the mounds of trash. However, Mr. Bashford uses Junk Spirit to revive a Junk monster during the End Phase that was destroyed this turn. With little more to do, Crow sets 1 card to end his turn, letting Mr. Bashford revive PJ. This has Yusei and Jack confused about the lack of another monster that would complete the trio. This gives Yusei an idea and he decides to look around in the house. Mr. Bashford draws and equips PJ with Junk Barrage, then takes out Gale to leave Crow down to 900, then to 250 by JB's effect.
Knowing the place is coming down, Crow activates Black Thunder to deal 400 damage to Mr. Bashford for each card on his field, winning Crow the duel but bringing down the house and the trash heaps. Yusei makes it out in time to hand Mr. Bashford a picture. Mr. Bashford admits to not having Kid Junk as he gave it to his son and had too little time to spend time with Adam due to his job as a sculptor. He's been there because he's waiting but Crow suggests going back to Martha's to have a whole bunch of new kids. Later, after building a Stardust Dragon statue, Mr. Bashford needs some attention to his shoulders and requests Crow to help. Despite protest, Crow agrees before they head inside to discuss the matter of the stone tablet. Whatever is going on, someone doesn't want anyone to know!
