Episode 59: Shadows of Doubt (2)
We get a glimpse into Carly's past before Jack reignites the argument from earlier before adding that Changing Destiny has two options that Carly chooses to resolve. Carly finds the ordeal foolish because it's the same point the attack would've put Jack but Jack knows the true Carly will make the right choice. At first, Carly chooses to wipe out Jack's LPs but can't complete the sentence as she recalls her past memories with Jack and instead chooses to gain half of Fortune Lady Earth's ATK, raising her score to 5000. Carly seems to have returned to normal but it's short-lived as the entity that is controlling her repossesses her and Carly resumes the duel by playing Speed Spell - Curse of Destiny and giving FLE 2 curse counters. She can then remove the counter to deal Jack damage without attacking but since she attacked already, she sets 2 cards to end her turn.

Jack draws, determined to get Carly back to normal by force and plays Vice Dragon (2000) in Attack Mode since Carly is the only one with monsters (and at 8:48 into the US episode, its shown as a WIND monster) but since it was Special Summoned this way, its ATK and DEF are halved to 1000 and 1200 respectively. Then he summons Dark Resonator (1300) in Attack Mode and uses his monsters as Synchro Material for Red Dragon Archfiend (3000) in Attack Mode. However, Carly activates Class Change to have FLE gain 1 Level and therefore 400 ATK by her effect, making her ATK at 3200. Furthermore, since FLE's Level increased, Jack takes 400 damage, leaving his score down to 400.
Jack isn't done as he plays Speed Spell - Half Seize to halve FLE's ATK to 1600 and add the amount to his LPs, raising his score to 2000. His attack with RDA destroys FLE and leaves Carly down to 3600 LPs and in peril with the Earthbound Immortal mark they're driving through. Meanwhile, Yusei comes to grips with what just happened before taking a few steps to where the figure appears again, revealing to be Yusei's own father but doesn't stick around long enough to answer questions. With that, he returns to the site of his duel with Roman and ends up in the arms of his friends. They still have to clear the last two towers before sundown so they agree to get a going. Back at the duel, Carly regains control of her Duel Runner and is back to her Dark Signer self before activating Inherited Fortune to Special Summon 2 Fortune Lady monsters next turn. Jack sets 1 card to end her turn. Carly draws and Special Summons Fortune Lady Wind (????) and Fortune Lady Water (????) in Attack Mode by IF's effect.
Since FLWi is Level 3 and FLWa is Level 4, their ATK and DEF become 900 and 1200. Furthermore, FLW lets Carly draw 1 card for each Fortune Lady she has out, which is 2. (The real FLWa lets you draw 2 cards if you control another Fortune Lady monster when it is Special Summoned.) Next, she tributes her monsters for Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu (2500) in Attack Mode. Her direct attack prompts Jack to Special Summon Battle Fader (0000) in Attack Mode and end the Battle Phase by its effects. Carly sets 1 card to end her turn and Jack begins glowing as Akiza realizes that Jack is behind their marks fading and Jack accumulates the mark of the Crimson Dragon. His draw yields him Majestic Dragon, which he plays (0000) in Attack Mode. Next he uses his monsters as Synchro Material for Majestic Red Dragon (4000) in Attack Mode.

He's all set to end the duel in a draw by making his monster's ATK 6500 after reducing EIAP's ATK to 0 via MRD's effect but Carly activates Earthbound Release in an attempt to wipe out all monsters on the field and deal damage to Jack equal to their combined ATK but MRD negates this effect and Jack realizes the true Carly did this on purpose. (The real MRD doesn't negate Spell or Trap Card effects and can't be destroyed by card effects.) The attack successfully wins Jack the duel and Jack goes to Carly's aid to give her back her glasses and have a short conversation about their future before Carly disappears. The others see the falling points of light and realize Jack has won but there's one tower left and Yusei fears it'll be the toughest one yet.
