Episode 26: The Fortune Cup Finale (2)

Above the duel, skies darken with purple clouds as both Yanagi and Goodwin realize that the Crimson Dragon is coming. Lazar questions whether they have the power to control the Crimson Dragon and the lack of a 5th Signer. Goodwin knows whom the 5th Signer is and now they'll wait to see if they can harness the Crimson Dragon's power. Yusei draws and activates Descending Lost Star, letting him bring back a Synchro Monster in Defense Mode with its DEF 0 and its Level reduced by 1 and chooses Junk Warrior. (and they use a potentially overpowered Synchro Monster in their explanation). Next he plays Hyper Synchron (1600) in Attack Mode and uses his monsters as Synchro Material (since HS is a Tuner but they don't tell you that) for Stardust Dragon (2500) in Attack Mode. Due to HS' effect, SD gains 800 ATK, putting its ATK to 3300 but Jack activates Tuner Capture to Special Summon HS to his field in Defense Mode.

Yusei attacks anyway but Jack activates Tuner's Mind to split his Synchro into Twin-Sword Marauder (1000) and Dark Tinker (1300) in Defense Mode.  Yusei attacks TSM but DT takes the hit instead thanks to TM's effect. In response, Yusei activates Synchro Blast to deal Jack 500 damage since his own Synchro Monster attacked, bringing Jack down to 2300 LPs. Jack draws (and the real HS removes from play the Synchro Monster it's used to Summon during the End Phase) and uses HS and TSM as Synchro Material for Red Dragon Archfiend (3000) in Attack Mode and RDA gets 800 ATK by HS' effect, raising its ATK to 3800. His attack doesn't destroy SD by HS' other effect (which isn't in the real card's effect) but leaves Yusei down to 1400 LPs. Next Jack activates Fiend Cannon to deal Yusei 500 damage since his monster wasn't destroyed in battle, dropping his score to 900.

To everyone's shock, the Crimson Dragon appears and Goodwin orders Zigzix to shut down the Ener-D Reactor as a precaution. However, meltdown is imminent and Zigzix can't let it do what it did to Greiger's village. Yusei warns Jack of what could happen but Jack doesn't listen and Goodwin, as the 5th Signer, shows everyone what's to come. Now in some alternate dimension, the group see what happens in Satellite before Jack sets 2 cards to end his turn, explaining that there must be a winner of their duel in order for them to go home. Yusei draws and activates Speed Spell - Silver Contrail to give his WIND Stardust Dragon 1000 ATK, raising its ATK to 4300. His attack doesn't destroy RDA but leaves Jack down to 1800 LPs.

This time, it's as if the attack was real, like the Crimson Dragon wants them to play for keeps. It's fine with Jack as he takes 500 more damage by SB's effect, bringing him down to 1300 LPs. Yusei sets 3 cards to end his turn and Jack has the cards to destroy it. Jack draws and attacks, leaving Yusei down to 400 LPs and Yusei feels it. Nevertheless, Yusei activates Crossline Counter to double the Battle Damage he took and add it to SD's ATK, raising its ATK to 4300 and letting it attack. Jack then activates Speed Spell - Overboost to give him 4 Speed Counters this turn, raising his total to 11. Next he uses Speed Spell - End of a Storm (It's actually Speed Spell - End of Storm) to destroy all cards on the field but Yusei uses SD's effect to tribute itself and negate the effect. However, Jack activates Sneak Exploder, dealing Yusei 500 damage for each monster on his own field come Yusei's next Standby Phase.

Yusei brings back SD by its effect and uses Meteor Stream to deal Jack 1000 damage since SD came back the same turn it was Tributed. However, Jack counters with Crimson Fire to negate the damage and deal Yusei twice the amount. Even so, Yusei counters with Shining Silver Force to negate the damage and destroy all of Jack's Spells and Traps. Yusei draws and activates Speed Spell - Final Attack (which is not a Trap Card as he says from 19:13 to 19:14 into the US episode) to double his monster's ATK since he himself has 8 Speed Counters, raising its ATK to 5000. His attack wins the duel but leaves their dragons temporarily frozen on the field. If the vision they saw is true, they could all lose. The MC is speechless but makes the announcement as per Goodwin's orders about Yusei's victory.
