Episode 25: The Fortune Cup Finale (1)

Inside some crate, Nervin and crew are unable to recall whom attacked them (and contrary to the regular Yu-Gi-Oh series, they keep the guns at 00:19 into the episode, though they're green). At the Fortune Cup, the results are in and Yusei is going to face Jack Atlas for the championship and Yanagi, Leo and Tanner see that Luna is indeed a Signer and Yusei orders to get Luna out of there, concluding that it's dangerous for the Signers to be there and is off to talk to Goodwin. As Yanagi and the others head out of the stadium and into the hallway, Lazar and two men get in their way and convince them back but Yusei plows through the guards in his way and Trudge's concerns are denied.Yusei enters, explaining to Goodwin that the guard he asks for is out of commission, then asks for Trudge to be hauled away as Goodwin had ordered earlier.

As an angry Trudge rides the elevator, Yusei wants answers and will not duel Jack until the answers are given. Jack explains that he believes Goodwin has been rigging things and is bringing them together to unlock the Crimson Dragon and recalls bringing out Red Dragon Archfiend to scare them away from Rally. Rally doesn't get a chance to thank Jack before he disappears. However, he finds Jack on his throne as  Jack explains that he's protecting his turf. Rally brings up what Yusei had been up to but Jack remains silent until he suggests Rally go back with darkness approaching. Rally agrees and reminds Jack of where he and others will be if his mind changes. Lazar arrives to invite Jack over to New Domino City but is not holding Jack from staying where he is.

The next day, Jack arrives to watch the test run anyway but needs something from Rally first as he owes Jack. Inside his garage, Yusei is working on the new runner when Jack interrupts to mention that Rally has been captured by thugs. However, once Yusei arrives, he learns Jack put Rally in his situation and mentions how there's word that Yusei could be the best. Yusei opts to save Rally and Jack concludes that Yusei isn't worth having Stardust Dragon and takes it before heading off for the test run. Jack wants nothing on the line for their duel and with that, Nervin and crew are set free and find a TV to discover what's been going on. Duel preparations get underway before Yusei draws and plays Shield Wing (900) in Defense Mode before setting 2 cards to end his turn. Jack draws (and for some reason at 17:09 into the US episode, none of the labels normally shown like SPC and LP are not there, leaving those that just tuned in to wonder what the numbers mean) before summoning Twin-Shield Marauder (1600) in Attack Mode. His attack does not destroy SW by SW's effect but leaves Yusei down to 3300 (as TSM inflicts piercing Battle Damage but they don't tell you that). Jack's second attack by TSM's other effect leaves Yusei down to 2600 LPs before Jack sets 1 card to end his turn.

Yusei draws and summons Junk Synchron (1300) in Attack Mode and uses it and SW as Synchro Material for Junk Warrior (2300) in Attack Mode. His attack destroys TSM and leaves Jack down to 3300 LPs. Next he activates Synchro Blast to deal Jack 500 damage whenever JW attacks, leaving Jack down to 2800 LPs. Jack draws and summons Dark Tinker (1000) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Powerful Rebirth to bring back TSM in Attack Mode and raise its ATK by 100 and its Level by 1, making it a Level 5 monster with 1700 ATK. (The real Dark Tinker is Level 2 so even this wouldn't be enough.) He uses his monsters a Synchro Material for Red Dragon Archfiend (3000) in Attack Mode and recalls the effort it took to get him this far. Yusei always put dueling second but Jack will put Yusei in his place!
