Episode 21: Second Round Showdown (2)

At the duel, it's Greiger's turn and Greiger draws, attacking with Flying Fortress SKYFIRE, destroying Yusei's Speed Warrior and leaving Yusei down to 1900, temporarily spun out on the track and without Speed Counters. Greiger sets 1 card to end his turn, saying there's too much at stake for him to lose. Yusei draws, knowing about SKYFIRE's effect and summons Shield Warrior (1600) in Defense Mode. As a result, Greiger uses SKYFIRE's effect to destroy SW and leave Yusei down by 800 to 1100 and (despite the MC's words) 1 Speed Counter. He sets a card to end his turn. Leo realizes that Greiger is relentless and didn't notice it before because he was too excited.

The group isn't confident Yusei can win until they realize what Yusei did to avoid losing his face down card and Tanner bets it's a game changer like Mirror Force. Greiger draws and attacks, prompting Yusei to activate Wasteland Tornado (Wild Tornado in the CG and it can only destroy a face up Spell or Trap Card) to destroy his own face down Limiter Break (Limiter Overload in the CG), letting him in turn bring back Speed Warrior (400) in Defense Mode, which is destroyed in the attack.Dexter wants Tanner to uphold his deal but they never shook on it. Greiger sets a card to end his turn so Yusei draws and summons Massive Warrior (which is actually its Japanese translated name in the OCG and is called Fortress Warrior in the TCG) (600) in Attack Mode. Once again, SKYFIRE's effect activates and destroys MW/FW, leaving Yusei defenseless and down to 300 LPs.

Yusei is ready with Speed Spell - Zero Reverse to bring back Fortress Warrior with 0 ATK. Next, in memory of Rally, he plays Turbo Booster (0000) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to tribute itself while MW attacks to get rid of SKYFIRE and MW will make Battle Damage from the ATK 0. As a result, SKYFIRE falls and crashes into the ground but Greiger activates Chariot Pile and reveals a bit more with his Duel Runner and recalls breaking into Goodwin's office to view the secrets within. Greiger draws and uses CP's effect to deal Yusei 800 damage but Yusei tributes MW to save his LPs (thanks to CP's drawback but they don't tell you that). Yusei draws, knowing he loses if the combo doesn't work and plays Junk Synchron (1300) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to bring back Speed Warrior. Next he uses both monsters as Synchro Material for Junk Warrior (2300) in Attack Mode.

He attacks but Greiger responds with CP's other effect to pay 800 LPs and destroy JW since it's attacking directly, bringing his own score down to 2600.

Greiger draws and summons Black Salvo (100) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to bring back Trap Reactor YFI. Then he uses BS and TRYFI as Synchro Material for Dark Strike Fighter (2600) in Attack Mode. His attack prompts Yusei to activate Synchro Spirits to remove from play the JW in his Grave and bring back Junk Synchron and Speed Warrior in Defense Mode. The attack connects but JS survives as Yusei used Shield Warrior's effect in the Graveyard to remove itself from play and prevent JS' destruction in battle and tributes Speed Warrior to stop CP from dealing him 800 damage.

However as his turn ends, Greiger activates Ultimate Flare to give him an Ultimate Flare Token, a Level 10 monster with 0 ATK and due to DSF's effect, he can tribute a monster and deal Yusei damage equal to its Level x 200, which would mean Yusei loses. (What they don't tell you is that DSF's anime effect prevents it from attacking the turn its effect is used and it can only be used once per turn but the real card has neither of these restrictions, which is why it's banned.) Yusei draws and plays Tuning Supporter (its Japanese translated name in the OCG while its TCG name is Tuningware) (100) in Attack Mode and uses it and JS as Synchro Material for Armory Arm (1800) in Attack Mode.

Due to TS/Tuningware's effect, Yusei can draw 1 card since it was used as Synchro Material. His draw yields him Speed Spell - Synchro Return to Special Summon one of his removed from play Synchro Monsters since he has at least 5 SCs, bringing back Junk Warrior in Attack Mode and using AA's effect to equip itself to JW and raise JW's ATK by 1000 to 3300. His attack destroys DSF and wins Yusei the duel by AA's other effect (which they neglect to mention as it deals damage to the opponent equal to the ATK of the monster destroyed by the equipped monster).

Greiger spins out and when he stops, the spikes on the sides of his Duel Runner remain as Greiger adds that it's not over and tells what Goodwin is really up to. (At 19:53 into the Japanese episode, there's no microphone in his hand and one has to wonder where it came from.) Lazar can't figure out what's going on but wants the sphere off yet Goodwin wants Greiger to have his moment in the spotlight and no one will believe the story. Now filled with much anger, Greiger gets back on his Duel Runner and races around the track. As he takes flight, Yusei intercepts, causing one of the two chariot piles to break off and smash through a window but to Jack and Lazars' surprise, Goodwin stops the CP and reveals his mechanical hand. On the ground, their runners come to a crashing halt as Yusei explains that it's not the way to deal with his problems and should instead take his trust but while Greilger stays angry at Goodwin, Goodwin drops the CP on the floor.
