Episode 19: Return to the Spirit World (2)

Inside the Spirit World, the voice recites what Luna said she'd do but Luna feels the voice has the wrong person but Ido the Supreme Magical Force reappears and Sunlight Unicorn takes it out, leaving the Professor surprised that he broke through and down to 3700 LPs. SU is then destroyed by Ancient Forest's effect. Yusei wants this stopped now and heads off. Due to Horn of the Unicorn's effect, it returns to the top of the Deck instead of the Graveyard. However, Luna does something the professor didn't see, using Emergency Assistance to Special Summon Sunlight Unicorn (1800) in Attack Mode and use its effect to add Horn of the Unicorn, which she equips it with, raising its ATK by 700 to 2500. Finally she sets 2 cards to end her turn and the events unfold in the Spirit World as Luna uses SU to escape. Along the way, Luna learns that the trees are void of leaves because of the evil force trying to get in and corrupt the area.

They arrive at a stone carving of Ancient Fairy Dragon with a crevice in between and Luna must fulfill her promise or her brother's spirit may be lost forever. AFD shows Luna her past to remember the promise and she does. Meanwhile, Yusei arrives and quickly realizes he won't get through. Leo's spirit tries to contact Luna and Leo's body topples over, leaving Yanagi, Dexter and Tanner to take him to the first aid station.

Luna's memories are recalled again but Ido returns once more. All Yusei can conclude is that the professor is somehow behind Luna's trance state but what shocks him more is the glowing red mark on her arm, which Zigzix, Lazar and Goodwin learn means that she's a Signer. While Tanner, Yanagi and Dexter wheel Leo in, the professor draws and has now entered the Spirit World.

Worse still, trees are being destroyed by his own powers. At last, Leo hears Luna's cries and she finds him but he but cannot get her out thanks to her promise. As a storm gathers, Luna's body regains her normal eyes but the duel resumes in the Spirit World as their current cards in play appear. Luna activates Pixie Ring (which is not a Spell Card as she says from 15:42 to 15:44 into the US episode, preventing the professor from attacking her weakest monster, Kuribon. The professor draws and activates Wave of Ill Intent to make Luna take 300 damage when one of his monsters is destroyed and attacks to destroy Ido and bring his score down to 3400 but leave Luna down to 1200 by WoII's effect. Furthermore, since the professor lost a monster, he can use Spirit Contamination to destroy Luna's Pixie Ring and with the professor's End Phase now here, Ido returns in Attack Mode. Luna draws, taking the 300 damage by Immortal Homeostasis' effect and sets 1 card before activating Healing Wind to gain 200 LPs for each monster on the field, raising her score back to 1500.

The professor draws and intends on having the Spirit World fall before him instead of sharing the power with Goodwin and Illyaster. His attack prompts Luna to activate Fairy Wind to destroy all Spell and Trap Cards on the field and deal 400 damage per card to both players, leaving her score down to 300, Kuribon's ATK back to 300 and the professor's score down to 2200. (The real card deals only 300 damage per card destroyed and only destroys face up Spells and Traps.) The professor resumes his attack but due to Kuribon's effect, it returns itself to Luna's hand and gives the professor LPs equal to his monster's ATK, raising his LPs to 4400. The professor will destroy the current Spirit World and rebuild it under his rule but AFD picks him up and intends to kill him (and one person lost to save thousands of others sometimes has to be done and doesn't necessarily make you just as bad, especially given that in this case, he wants to wipe out an entire virtual world).

Nevertheless, Luna activates Oberon's Prank to reverse the damage gained by Fairy Wind's effect (which didn't give them LPs, it was Kuribon's effect) bringing the professor back down to 2200 LPs, then to 0 and ending the duel in a draw. Luna must now stop the person that sealed her away as the duel returns to normal and the professor is out cold.Yusei catches Luna as she succumbs to exhaustion and takes her away. Meanwhile, Leo wakes up, having no recollection of what happened. Luna mentally assures that she'll always protect the Spirit World and gets out of Yusei's arms as she can walk by herself (yet you were just in a rather intense duel) but neither duelist will advance. Now that they've learned that Luna has a mark, Jack wants to know what's next as a man twirls the Ancient Fairy Dragon card.
