Episode 13: A Duel to Remember

Inside their home, they've brought Yusei in and let him rest while discussing whether to wake him up and whether or not he's from the facility. Leo's sister uses her powers to talk to the Duel Spirits and learns that Yusei is a good but sad person. At that moment, Yusei awakens and learns how he got there and that Leo and his sister (revealed as Luna) but has no idea whom he is or how he got in the alley. Leo can't resist showing Yusei the motion activated curtains, which pull back to reveal more about their location, where only the super rich live. Down below, Trudge wants in to capture a potential fugitive but the guard presents a procedure that Trudge must follow first and Trudge is not in the mood. Back in "The Tops", Yusei tries again to get Yusei to remember his name but Yusei is focused on what Leo calls his shrine to Jack Atlas and Yusei recognizes Jack Atlas but is clueless as to why.

Nevertheless, Leo knows Yusei is a Turbo Duelist due to the Duel Runner next to him when he was on the ground.Leo shows Yusei his, rather Luna's invite to the Fortune Cup but that's not helping either and Yusei decides to go, not wanting to trouble them anymore. As a last idea, Leo finds his Duel Disk, which has trouble staying in place, reminding Yusei of when Rally had a similar incident and agrees to duel. Outside, Yusei learns that their parents are always away on important business trips and manages to help with Leo's Duel Disk problem. The duel gets started as Leo acts like he's a well known professional duelist but has trouble maintaining his arm's position due to the Duel Disk's weight and plays Morphtronic Celfon (100) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to obtain a 3 and pick up 3 cards to play the Morphtronic Magnen (800) picked up in Attack Mode. He sets 1 card to end his turn.

Yusei draws and summons Speed Warrior (900) in Attack Mode and doubles its ATK to 1800 for the turn with its effect. His attack prompts Leo to activate Morphtransition to put MM to Defense Mode and negate the attack. Since that's all Yusei can do this turn, Leo draws and plays a second Morphtronic Magnen in Defense Mode and Luna has to correct him on the invisible vs invincible usage. Down below, Sector Security gets in position while Blister knows Yusei had better get out soon or he's going back to the facility forever. Leo draws and uses MC's effect to gets a 2 and pick up 2 cards and summon Morphtronic Datatron (1200) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Gadget Box to Special Summon a Gadget Token (0000) in Attack Mode each turn and tributes the token to use MD's effect and deal Yusei 600 damage, leaving him down to 3400 and reminding him of his own moves. However, Luna has to spoil his fun by questioning whether or not his turn is done.Since it is, Yusei smiles but in his office, Goodwin learns that all but Yusei's invites were mailed out and that Trudge is still after Yusei despite being told to back off.

Back at the duel, Yusei discards 1 card (Nitro Synchron) to activate Card Rotator and change the battle positions of all monsters on the field, leaving both Magnens in Attack Mode and Celfon and Datatron in Defense Mode. Next he plays Junk Synchron (1300) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to bring back the Nitro Synchron (100) in Defense Mode. (Despite protest, you can use two Tuners for a Synchro Summon, just not in most cases.) Next he uses JS and SW as Synchro Material for Junk Warrior (2300) in Attack Mode, then uses it and NS as Synchro Material for Nitro Warrior (2800) in Attack Mode (and they don't hesitate to interrupt the duel with an almost useless showcase of the card). His first attack destroys MM, leaving Leo down to 2000 LPs. His second attack wtih NW's effect changes MC to Attack Mode and destroys it, winning Yusei the duel and regaining his memory. However Yusei cannot be friends with them thanks to the mark on his cheek. That night, while Trudge eagerly awaits Yusei's appearance, Yusei sneaks out with his runner as Luna and Leo sleep. He makes out but Trudge is once again right on his tail but Lazar arrives to remind Trudge of his current duties and explains whom he himself is.The official business Lazar is on is delivering Yusei his invite to the Fortune Cup, which he must participate or his friends will pay the price.
