Episode 12: The Take Back (2)

Inside the corridors of Sector Security, Yusei continues towards the wall and the wall shatters before Yusei and Trudge follow it down to the ground floor. As they fall, Trudge activates Speed Spell - Rapid Shotwing, raising his Search Striker's ATK by 500 (100 per Speed Counter) to 2100 (though it's ATK appears as 1650 at 3:31 into the US episode) since he has 5 Speed Counters. His first attack leaves Yusei literally barely hanging on and down to 1400 LPs. His second attack prompts Yusei to activate Confusion Chaff to negate the attack and force Pursuit Chaser to battle SS. As a result, PC is destroyed, leaving Trudge down to 3300 LPs. Trudge sets 1 card to end his turn, returning SS' ATK to 1600 (though wouldn't it be pointless to set a card when your opponent can see it above them?). They reach the ground floor and Yusei makes it out of the elevator but Trudge is held back before smashing through and catching up.

However, Blister yanks Trudge away and sends Trudge sliding backwards and expands on his story with Arrow, where they summon Machiner's Sniper (Machina Sniper in the CG) (1800) in Attack Mode and attacks to win the duel. After that, Blister would go on to the Pro League to join the ranks of Atlas, Phoenix and Truesdale (the last two are obviously Aster Phoenix and Zane Truesdale respectively). In the duel that would end their time as friends, Arrow plays Machiner's Sniper before the accident unfolds. Blister suggests Yusei to go solo like he himself did but Yusei protests that his friends are good people and people do stupid things once in a while.

That's when Trudge returns and Yusei resumes the duel by playing Speed Warrior (900) in Attack Mode but before its ATK can double by its effect, Trudge activates Power Bind,  preventing SW from attacking until next turn and making its ATK 0 for that period. Still, Yusei activates Speed Spell - Reactor Pod, dealing Trudge damage equal to SW's original ATK, leaving Trudge down to 2400 LPs. Blister sees how much Yusei is like Arrow but Yusei feels the same way with Blister being by his side like Arrow was and Yusei sets 1 card to end his turn. Trudge draws and attacks but Yusei activates Scrap-Iron Scarecrow to negate the attack and return itself face down. Trudge responds with Final Countdown, letting Trudge send 1 3 or 4 Spell or Trap Cards on his field to the Graveyard and deal Yusei 500 damage per card sent and he plans to win next turn by its effect as he sets 1 card to end this turn.

Yusei draws and switches Speed Warrior to Defense Mode before playing Healing Wave Generator (1600) in Defense Mode and using its effect to give him LPs equal to 100 x Speed Warrior's Level, raising his LPs by 200 to 1600. With that, he sets 2 cards to end his turn. Trudge draws and summons Torapart (600) in Attack Mode and uses it and SS as Synchro Materials to Synchro Summon Goyo Guardian (2800) in Attack Mode. His attack prompts Yusei to activate his SIS again but it's stopped as Trudge explains that Torapart prevents Yusei from activating Traps, leaving HWG to be brought to Trudge's field by GG's effect and Trudge uses HWG's effect to give him 100 x GG's Level, raising his score by 600 to 3000. Hr sets 1 card to end his turn and Yusei reminds Blister that Arrow wanted him to have the card to symbolize their friendship not to remind him of being a bad friend.

Yusei draws and summons Turbo Synchron (100) in Attack Mode and brings back Quillbolt Hedgehog by its effect. attacks HWG with it, leaving his own score down to 100 but letting him play Sonic Chick (300) in Attack Mode by its effect. Next he uses Urgent Tuning to use his monsters as Synchro Materials during the Battle Phase and Synchro Summon Turbo Warrior (2500) in Attack Mode. He attacks GG with it, halving GG's ATK by its effect but also activates Synchro Strike to give TW 500 ATK for each monster used for its Synchro Summon, raising its ATK by 2000 to 4500. Trudge decides to intercept but Blister holds Trudge Back long enough to let Yusei attack and win the duel. Trudge and Blister's Duel Runners wipe out and Yusei forges ahead as Blister asks, plowing out the exit and past a swarm of Sector Security police guards. Inside their home, two green haired children are dueling when the girl, revealed as Luna, senses something and the duo race out to find Yusei slumped on the ground motionless. Will Yusei recover?
