Episode 10: The Lockdown Duel (2)

At the duel,  with all cameras watching, Armstrong is glad to see the duel isn't too much for Yusei, which is easy for him to say when his Duel Disk doesn't shock him when he loses Life Points. Yusei draws (and Call of the Haunted remains unedited at 3:06 into the US episode) and activates Nightmare's Steelcage to keep attacks at bay for 2 turns but Armstrong doesn't hesitate to remind Yusei where he is before Yusei sets 1 card to end his turn. Armstrong draws, pleased with the result and plays Iron Chain Snake (800) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Iron Chain Repairman's effect to bring back his first ICS. Next he uses 2 Spell Cards (Poison Chain and Paralyzing Chain), forcing Yusei to send cards from his Deck to the Grave equal to the total Levels of all Iron Chain monsters he has that don't attack (though despite what he says he has 2 Level 3 ICS and 1 Level 4 ICR, not 2 Level 5s), forcing Yusei to lose 10 cards off the top of his deck, leaving him with 19 and making him take 300 damage by Paralyzing Chain's effect respectively, leaving him down to 2700 LPs.

Alex can't wait any longer and ducks inside his manmade tunnel and makes it to the escape route but hesitates when he recalls what Yusei said. Oops! As the camera zooms in on Yusei's hand at 6:23 into the episode, Taunt, the far left card is uncensored! All Yusei can do is set 3 cards so Armstrong activates Psychic Cyclone, letting him guess the type of one of Yusei's face down cards and if right, the card is destroyed and he himself gets to draw another card. He's right and Yusei's face down Dust Tornado is destroyed. Tanner doesn't believe Armstrong guessed fairly but all Yusei can do is set 1 card to end his turn.

Armstrong draws and plays Iron Chain Blaster (1100) in Attack Mode, forcing Yusei to send another 12 cards from his deck to the Graveyard and take another 300 damage by Paralyzing Chain's effect, bringing his score down to 2400 (though you just see where his LPs were before from 8:07 to 8:09 into the US episode). Furthermore, Armstrong uses ICB's effect to send ICS to the Grave and deal Yusei 800 damage, leaving Yusei down to 1600 LPs. Next he uses ICR's effect to bring back ICS once more. With that, Yusei's Nightmare Steel Cage disappears as its effect expires. Suddenly there's a brief power failure and Yusei notices that Alex is gone and concludes that his friends from outside are responsible. Yusei then draws and activates Jar of Greed to draw 1 card. Next he activates Call of the Haunted (which still isn't censored, from 9:50 to 10:00 into the US episode), letting him bring back a monster from his Graveyard and he chooses The Kick Man (1300) in Attack Mode, letting Yusei equip it with the Axe of Despair in his Graveyard by TKM's effect. (Though why not bring back the more powerful Tri-Horned Dragon, which is stronger all over, even without any additional boosts.) Next he summons Exiled Force (1000) in Attack Mode and uses his attacks to leave Amstrong on the ground and down to 1900 LPs, literally in shock. Unfortunately for Yusei, Alex has been caught and brought to duel site as Armstorng learns that Alex fried the mainframe and the shocks from his Duel Disk will remain.

Yusei raises the stakes by putting Alex's future also in Yusei's hands before he uses Exiled Force (without directly saying so) to destroy ICR, destroying Soul Anchor as well. Armstrong is confident as he can see all cards Yusei set and just needs one card to destroy his face down Battle Mania. He draws, not getting a Monster Card and uses Reload to return all cards in his hand to his deck and redraw. Pleased with the new results, he activates Mystical Space Typhoon, letting him destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card on the field and chooses what he thinks is the face down Battle Mania on Yusei's field but it's Taunt instead and Tanner concludes that Yusei switched the cards during the brief power blip and Armstrong isn't happy, wanting the duel to be fixed in his favor. Yusei reveals his other face down Battle Mania card. Nevertheless, he plays Iron Chain Coil (1100) in Attack Mode and uses it as Synchro Material with ICB for Iron Chain Dragon (2500) in Attack Mode, whom gains 200 ATK for each Chain monster in his Graveyard, raising its ATK by 1000 to 3500. (The real card gains 200 ATK for each Iron Chain monster you remove from play by its effect.) He attacks, destroying Yusei's TKM and leaving Yusei down to 400 LPs and losing another 3 cards from his deck by ICD's effect. Furthermore, due to Paralyzing Chain, Yusei loses another 300 LPs, leaving his score at a sparse 100.

Armstrong laughs with delight as Yusei draws his last card but it's what he needs to win as he plays Rubble King (0000) in Attack Mode and with 30 cards in Yusei's Grave, RK lets Yusei play Blasting the Ruins to deal Armstrong 3000 damage since there are 30+ cards in Yusei's Grave, winning Yusei the duel. While Yusei gets cheering from inmates, Armstrong ignores the deal and wants both Yusei and Alex locked up but Goodwin saw the whole thing and fires Armstrong for his behavior. Later, the group meet in the Duel Stadium where Yanagi and Tanner give Yusei a card and Tanner adds instructions to get to a guy named Blister for help. In his office, Lazar questions Goodwin's methods and learns that Yusei will be tracked while being set free and Trudge just feet away knows about all this, now scarred from their last duel. Yusei had better hope Trudge isn't the first to get to him!
