| Episode 143: What Lies Beneath (3) | |

At Zane's duel, Chaos Sorcerer summons Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth (3500) in Attack Mode and attacks, destroying Zane's Cyberdark Dragon with 3300 ATK to leave Zane with 3800 LPs. At Aster's duel, Aster plays Destiny Hero - Plasma (1900) in Attack Mode and the Skilled Magicians Ritual Summon Demise, King of Armageddon (2400) in Attack Mode. Back at Axel's duel, Axel and SK have an argument before Axel plays Volcanic Slicer (1200) in Defense Mode and uses its effect to deal SK 500 damage to put him at 3500 before setting 1 card to end his turn. SK aims to show Axel what real power feels like and takes out VS, then also sets 1 card to end his turn. Axel uses Blaze Accelerator, then sends it to the Grave for Tri-Blaze Accelerator and uses its effect to discard Volcanic Hammerer to destroy EHWC and deal another 500 damage to SK, leaving his score at 3000. Next, he uses Fire Recovery to discard a FIRE monster and revive Volcanic Hammerer (2400) in Attack Mode. VH can deal 200 damage to SK for each Volcanic monster in Axel's Grave and with 2, SK is down to 2600.
For his turn, SK activates (not summon as stated from 5:49 to 5:51 into the episode) Dark Calling to remove from play his Dark Fusion as well as Evil Hero Fusion Materials for Evil Hero Infernal Sniper (2500) in Defense Mode. (The real Dark Calling doesn't require you to remove from play Dark Fusion). Since EHIS can deal 1000 damage each turn and is indestructible to Spell Cards, SK uses the latter to leave Axel's score at 1100. Axel states that the Eye of Orechalkum will pierce the darkness. Sure enough, when Axel orders it to show the truth, it reveals what he suspected all along. He sends his TBA to the Grave for Volcanic Doomfire (3000) in Attack Mode. His attacks, leave SK defenseless and down to 200 LPs. Down below, Syrus calls to Axel and learns he's dueling the SK.
He summons Kiteroid and uses it to visit the tower to see for himself. Meanwhile, SK asks how it feels to be so close to victory before summoning Evil Hero Infernal Prodigy (300) in Attack Mode before Tributing it for Evil Hero Malicious Edge (2600) in Attack Mode, explaining that EHIP can be Special Summoned if he himself controls no monsters and a similar scenario for EHME. Thanks to the other ability of EHIP, SK can draw 1 card and draws the card that'll lead to Axel's doom. He activates Vicious Claw, giving his Evil Hero 300 more ATK to 2900 and if that monster would get taken out in battle, VC is destroyed instead. He attacks VH but is redirected to VD by its effect, leaving SK at 100 but destroying VH and dealing 600 damage to Axel by VC's other effect.
Syrus lands as OY isn't sure this is a good idea. Zane uses Poly for Cyber End Dragon (4000) in Attack Mode, exactly 500 ATK more than PUGM so he attacks, destroying it and winning the duel as Syrus runs inside. Meanwhile, the Skilled Magicians try to use their monster's effect but is stopped by Aster's D - Force card, which was activated last turn and it cancels out all of the Skilled Magicians' monsters' effects. They attack anyway but Aster activates Plasma Counter, halving the ATK of Demise and adding 1500 ATK to Plasma, enough to destroy Demise and win the duel. He meets up with Zane and Syrus, asking what took them so long. Once again at Axel's duel. the rest of Zane's group catches up to the duel. Due to VC's other effect, Axel gets an Evil Token with 2500 ATK and SK gives it 500 more ATK by equipping it with Evil Blast, also dealing Axel 500 damage during each of his Standby Phases, making Axel's next Standby Phase his last.
Only one of them will survive the next round! Another attempt to convert SK to Jaden fails and Axel now realizes that he'll have to send SK to the stars to save Jaden. He draws and activates Volcanic Cyclone to discard a Pyro-Type monster and destroy Evil Blast, returning the token to its original ATK. Next, he attacks but SK activates Super Poly to discard 1 card and send both the Evil Token and EHME to the Grave to bring out Evil Hero Malicious Fiend (3500) in Attack Mode. VD gets destroyed but because of Volcanic Counter's effect, SK takes the same Battle Damage, resulting in both getting sent to the stars.
The Orechalkum Eye shatters and the comet in the sky goes red as the villagers ponder what it means. Zane announces the fall of their king and tosses his helmet towards them. The monsters scatter and bringing out Cyberdark Dragon, the group flies away. In another part of the dimension, while they give Jaden time to recover, OY tells of his encounter with the dark figure believed to be Jesse but Jesse's eyes didn't seem right! |
