Episode 119: A Snake in the Grass (3)

At the duel, it's Jaden's turn and he plays Card Trooper (400) in Attack Mode and uses its effect to send the next 3 cards of his Deck to the Graveyard. Oops! At 2:41 into the US episode, Ojama Yellow is being sent to the Graveyard instead of Necro Gardna! Viper points out that Card Trooper's 1900 ATK isn't enough and with Jaden's End Phase now in effect, Card Trooper loses its bonus ATK, returning it to 400 and allowing Venom Swamp to poison it, leaving it with 0 ATK and destroying it, letting Jaden draw a card by Card Trooper's effect. Syrus says not to worry as maybe the card will help him next turn. Viper draws and attacks directly with Vennominon but Jaden uses Necro Gardna's effect, negating the attack by removing itself from play (See? It was in his Graveyard after all). Viper sets 1 card to end his turn. Jaden uses Miracle Fusion to bring out Elemental Hero Wildedge (2600) in Attack Mode. The gang cheer when they see Wildedge as they know its effect, until they realize that Vennominon comes back each time it's destroyed but it comes back with 500 less ATK since Viper has to RFG a Reptile in his Grave.

Jaden attacks with Wildedge, destroying Vennominon and leaving Viper with 2000. Viper laughs as now his ultimate plan is in motion and he activates Rise of the Sacred Deity (Rise of the Snake Deity in the TCG), allowing him to bring out Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes (0000) in Attack Mode, whose effect gives herself 500 ATK per Reptile in Viper's Grave, putting its ATK at 3000. Plus, due to Venom Swamp, Wildedge gets poisoned, leaving its ATK at 2100. Viper draws and takes out Wildedge with Vennominaga, leaving Jaden with 300 and poisoned by Vennominaga's effect. (The real card gets a Hyper Venom counter when you inflict damage to your opponent with her and after 3 are on her, you win the duel). Jaden uses Fusion Recovery to take Poly and Sparkman back to his hand. Oops! At 10:03 into the US episode, the card that comes out of his Grave is Avian not Sparkman in the left image! Next, he uses Poly to bring out Elemental Hero Darkbright (2000) in Attack Mode. Then he equips Darkbright with Necro Shot, letting Jaden remove from play up to 3 of Viper's monsters in his Grave. Oops again! At 10:30 into the US episode, Darkbright's card artwork is for a later summoned Elemental Hero Magma Neos instead of his own image! (Note that there are several other instances of this for the duration Darkbright is on the field but I won't be mentioning them here.)

Jaden takes out 3 of Viper's Reptiles in his Grave, leaving Vennominaga with 1500 ATK. Then, Jaden attacks and destroys her with Darkbright, leaving Viper at 1500. As with Vennominon, Vennominaga returns to the field by removing from play a Reptile in Viper's Grave. Due to Necro Shot's other effect, its destroyed and Jaden can send a monster from his Deck to his Grave. Darkbright switches to Defense Mode by its effect and Jaden ends his turn, lowering the ATK of Darkbright to 1500 as he is poisoned by Venom Swamp. Viper uses Snake Rain to remove from play a Reptile to send 4 more Reptiles in his Deck to his Grave (The real card only forces you to discard a Reptile to the Grave), giving Vennominaga 2000 more ATK to 3000. Next, he takes out Darkbright with Vennominaga, triggering Darkbright's other effect to destroy Vennominaga but Vennominaga is unaffected by card effects and in one more round, Jaden loses everything. Meanwhile, Adrian goes to shut the place down but is stopped by the eyeball's voice, which tries to convince Adrian to instead help out as it shares the same pain as his fleet of ships and submarines are coming.

Back at the duel, Viper tells Jaden he's selfish while he himself is willing to do anything to save his son. Jesse says Viper's words are lies and Jaden takes his turn, playing Fifth Hope to return 5 Elemental Heroes in his Grave and draw 3 cards (since Jaden has no cards on the field or in hand). Oops yet again! At 16:40 into the US episode, Sparkman is an Effect Monster! Next Jaden uses Cocoon Party and Contact, letting Jaden bring out a Cocoon monster for each one lost so he gets Coccon Larva (300) and Cocoon Mole (700) in Attack Mode, then letting him tribute them for Neo-Spacian Flare Scarab (400) and Neo-Spacian Grand Mole (900), both in Attack Mode respectively. Finally, with Necroshade's effect, he brings out Elemental Hero Neos (2500) in Attack Mode and uses Contact Fusion on all 3 of his monsters for Elemental Hero Magma Neos (3000) in Attack Mode, who gains 400 ATK per card on the field for a total of 4600. Jaden takes out Vennominaga and wins the duel. Eyeball decides to make Viper pay, now that it has enough energy to be reborn and an intensely bright pillar of light appears just as Adrian's help arrives. The light fades as Jaden realizes they aren't in Kansas anymore. (Last I checked, you were NEVER in Kansas, Jaden).
