Episode 115: Trapper Keeper (1)

Outside, Jim, Hassleberry and Alexis discuss what they just went through in saving Alexis and Alexis says it's just another typical day around here. Hassleberry and Shirley then experience those weird vibes and go crazy for a second before knocking themselves out then quickly reawakening. Meanwhile in the vent shaft, Adrian says the amount of duel energy is rising while down below, Axel says he needs to find a way out and when he does, he's coming after Viper. Speaking of Viper, in his lair, he says that thanks to Jaden's duel with Stein, he now almost has all the energy he needs. Outside (and in) Ms Fontane's room, a line of tired students awaits as Ms Fontane gives instructions to her latest patient, then reminds Crower that this isn't a hospital and asks Crowler what it'll take for him to see that they have a problem and it's their fault. Bonaparte enters just as Crowler is thinking about taking a vacation and says he's not going anywhere and instructs Ms Fontane to put the students in the Obelisk Blue Dorm while he and Crowler keep watch there. With that, Ms Fontane follows orders as Bonaparte says they need to track down Viper but they can't even contact Adrian since there's no reception.

Meanwhile, Jaden hears the eyeball's voice asking why he won't play as they used to be best friends. Jaden may have forgotten the eyeball but the eyeball couldn't forget Jaden. Then Jaden hears Jesse's voice and awakens as Jesse explains what happened. Jaden tries to stand up but he's still too tired and needs rest. If it comes down to it, Jesse will face Viper by himself. Jaden gets the feeling that its him that Viper wants. Jesse feels that someone's coming and it's someone he's been waiting for for a long time and remembers his encounter with a Duel Spirit (Jerry Beans Man) and the Duel Spirit's owner, who mentions a duelist named Trapper that duels with stolen cards and he defeated this child, taking his best card (presumably JBM) and ran. Jesse assures he'll get the card back quickly. Back in reality, Jesse says he came close to catching  Trapper but Trapper caught on and was always one step ahead. They hear Trapper's laugh and race off, or at least Jesse does as Jaden warns him to be careful as he slips back onto the ground. At the dueling area, Jesse's Sapphire Pegasus is captured and Jesse calls back his Topaz Tiger.

Trapper only plays for high stakes so the two of them agree to let SP go if Jesse wins or lose all his Crystal Beasts if Jesse loses. The duel gets under way as Trapper plays Lure Phantom (0000) in Defense Mode and 3 face downs to end his turn. Jesse plays Crystal Beast Amethyst Cat (1200) in Attack Mode and uses her effect to cut his LPs in half to let her attack directly. (its effect cuts AC's ATK in half not your LPs, Jesse) So AC's ATK drops to 600 and Jesse attacks but Trapper activates the effect of his Lure Phantom to return it and AC to the owners' hands but Trapper then uses Hunting Net to put AC on his side of the field (the card's name isn't stated until the second copy of it gets activated). Jesse sets 2 cards to end his turn. Trapper brings out his Lure Phantom in Defense Mode again, then plays Dark Auction, setting AC free but giving himself LPs equal to AC's ATK (though Jesse's score drops by 1200 to 2800 so I'm thinking you're wrong Trapper.) However, Trapper then uses another Hunting Net to recapture AC.

Jesse notes that his Sapphire Pegasus isn't looking too good as Trapper explains he can extract their energy and demonstrates it with (what looks like) Gokipon. Jesse plays Crystal Beast Amber Mammoth (1700) in Attack Mode and attacks but Trapper activates Capture Snare, letting him use AC captured with Hunting Net as bait so now he has AM as well. He then ponders all the stuff he can do with the AM. Elsewhere, Syrus calls out to Jaden that he's coming but is bitten in the rear by Shirley and Jim separates them. Syrus tells them they barely won the duel. Once again back at the duel, Trapper tributes Lure Phantom for Infernal Blasthound (1000) in Attack Mode and attacks but Jesse activates G Force, forcing Trapper to battle with Crystal Beast Cobalt Eagle (1400) in Attack Mode from Jesse's hand but Trapper activates Trap Jammer, which negates the effect of GF so Jesse takes the attack, leaving him with 1800 and losing a card from his hand.

Naturally, it's Cobalt Eagle, putting it in the Spell and Trap Card Zone (The real card only gets the effect if destroyed while in the Monster Card Zone.). Trapper talks about the Rainbow Dragon and where its spirit is hidden but Jesse doesn't buy into it right away as Trapper continues talking. (Though, Trapper, if you were in the real world, Rainbow Dragon isn't all that expensive to buy as it was once available as a Tin, which would 99.9% guarantee you a copy of the card for around $20 and the Crystal Beasts themselves are most likely around $0.50 each.) Jesse says Trapper will never get his hands on it as Viper congratulates Trapper as he knew Jesse had some anger buried within him and Viper laughs gleefully as he knows how much energy he'll receive.
