At the duel site, Jaden can't believe Stein would side with Viper but Stein explains that Viper opened him up to the truth as he remembers what Viper told him. He then asks Jaden what pharaoh he'd want to have dinner but why would Jaden want to have dinner with Banner's cat? Stein was referring to an Egyptian king not a house pet but Jaden's answer proves that Jaden himself is a fool and goes on to criticize Jaden for allowing others to follow his own lead of sleeping in class but Jaden's just doing what he does. He continues the duel by attacking Jaden directly with Burstinatrix but Jaden activates Negate Attack to cancel the attack and the Battle Phase so Stein plays Scab Blast, dealing Jaden 200 damage for every monster Stein took from Jaden's field, dealing Jaden 400 damage and leaving his score at 1600, then ending his turn.

Jaden plays Elemental Hero Bubbleman (800) in Attack Mode, then draws twice by its effect (" "). Next he sets 1 card and uses Poly to send Bubbleman on the field and Avian in his hand to the Grave for Elemental Hero Mariner (1400) in Attack Mode and with its effect, it can attack Stein directly and Jaden uses it to do so, leaving Stein with 600. Back in the "Brick Room Pool", Alexis should've known she was in over her head but in Viper's lab, Viper says she doesn't know the half of it. Back at the duel. Stein recites a phrase given by Bandit Bakura (from the original Yu-Gi-Oh series' 5th season), then continues confusing Jaden with more large phrases, telling Jaden he can't compare his own intellect with Stein's.

Viper interrupts their duel, explaining that as Stein loses LP, the water rises in Alexis' room and at 0 LP, Alexis goes under. Jaden demands Viper to let Alexis go and Stein (for once) agrees as he cannot continue this game but Viper asks Stein if he's forgotten how Alexis betrayed him so Stein continues the duel by not drawing to return his Scab Blast Spell to his hand, which he activates, leaving Jaden with 1200. Next, he uses Gift of the Martyr to tribute Air Hummingbird to add its ATK to Burstinatrix, leaving its ATK at 2000. Oops! At 11:50 into the US episode, Burstinatrix's ATK is shown in a LP graphic instead of an ATK graphic! He attacks, destroying Mariner and leaving Jaden with 600. Meanwhile, Jesse and Syrus arrive to see that the power has been cut as Jesse convinces Syrus that now is Syrus' chance to be the hero like he wanted. At the duel, Jaden has activated Hero Signal to Special Summon Elemental Hero Sparkman (1600) in Attack Mode. Then he draws, equipping Sparkman with Spark Blaster and uses its effect to put Scar Scab Knight into Defense Mode.

 Jaden attacks with Sparkman but Stein activates Victim Barrier to change the attack target to Burstinatrix, destroying her, leaving his LPs at 200 and of course raising the water level in Alexis' room. Finally, Jaden sets 1 card to end his turn as SSK's effect takes Sparkman over to Stein's side of the field. Elsewhere, Hassleberry and Jim Cook call out for Alexis when Shirley the alligator picks up a scent that brings both of them to Alexis' room and the two of them figure the water source is the waterfall so Jim and Shirley dive into the water. As Jaden and Stein watch on screen, Stein again brings back his Scab Blast card, switches SSK to Attack Mode, then attacks Jaden directly with Sparkman but Jaden activates Hero Emerges (A Hero Emerges in the TCG) to force Stein to pick a card and if it's a monster, Jaden can play it and Stein  picks Elemental Hero Neos (2500) in Attack Mode. Next, Stein uses his Scab Blast, leaving Jaden with 400. Jaden thinks he can still win but he'd lose a friend. However, Jim manages to save Alexis and brings her to the surface of the waterfall.

Jaden draws and attacks SSK with Neos but Stein activates Scar Scream, destroying Neos since it has more than 2000 ATK. SSK then transforms into a different monster (Scar-Knight to be exact) (0000) in Attack Mode as Stein explains in another story that Jaden completely misses due to zoning out. Jaden plays Cocoon Larva (Chrysalis Larva in the TCG) (300) in Defense Mode, then sets 1 card to end his turn. Stein takes his turn, explaining that his Scar Knight now self-destructs and ends the duel in a draw but Jaden activates Cocoon Veil, which spares his LP but leaves Stein with 0 and Stein's energy is drained while he picks up his Scar Knight card and falls. (So now it's okay for a duelist to fall to their death? What the heck?) Syrus and Jesse rush over but before they make it, Jaden collapses and the eyeball in Viper's lab says it'll have Jaden.
