Episode 76: Taken by Storm (2)

At her lair, Chazz arrives, saying Sartorius sent him here to get her. Both introduce themselves. Meanwhile, outside Kaiba Corp, Sartorius arrives as Kaiba's suits welcome him. Inside KC, Kaiba asks what Sartorius is doing here and Sartorius says he has a proposal for him. He wants exclusive access to Kaibaland, which Kaiba says can be arranged for a price. Sartorius says Kaiba won't be disappointed and thanks him for his time, then leaves. Kaiba says for his suits to watch Sartorius and find out what he's doing.

Inside the limo, Alexis tells Sartorius she's ready and asks if they should proceed. Sartorius says yes and that he wants to test Jaden. Back in Battle City, Jaden is searching for Solomon when he finds him and asks him what happened as Solomon explains. Jaden then notices Aster, who says that something strange is occurring. Either he's nuts or they're holograms or real but he feels they're real. Jaden agrees. Aster notices a duel and Jaden realizes that Hassleberry's dueling. They rush off to find out who Hassleberry's opponent is.

Back at the duel, Thunder tells Frost to quit stealing the credit. Frost says he just wants to have a good time and that he could win without him. Thunder isn't buying that, telling Frost he's been the power behind the entire operation and Frost knows it. Frost challenges Thunder to a contest to see who beats their opponent first. Hassleberry makes a deal, in which he and Syrus are released, while Frost and Thunder duel. Frost adds that people like Syrus and Hassleberry are all alike. They think they're the hottest things since Jalapenos until someone calms them down. Hassleberry disagrees but Thunder says to put his cards where his mouth is. He's not impressed with Syrus and Hassleberry's dueling thus far.

Syrus draws and plays Gyroid (1000) in Defense Mode. He has no idea what his strategy is but he'd better think of something fast. Frost draws, sets a card, then switches Mobius to Attack Mode and attacks, destroying Black Tyranno and leaving Hassleberry with 800. Hassleberry draws and activates Card of Reversal, letting him draw 1 card for every face up card Frost controls for a total of 4 cards (what they don't appear to be telling you is that you need to have no other cards on the field or in your hand to activate the card, which is true in Hassleberry's case) Next he plays Element Saurus (1200) in Defense Mode, whose DEF drops to 700 due to Mobius' Castle. Oops! At 7:34 into the dubbed episode it shows Element Saurus' DEF at 1500 instead of his ATK!

ES' ATK drops to 1000 as Frost activates Mobius Glacier, lowering the ATK of all Dino-Type monsters by 500. Hassleberry sets 2 cards and Syrus is disappointed, hoping that Hassleberry isn't done yet. Thunder tells Syrus he should be watching what's in front of him and draws. He activates System Down, which for 1000 LPs, removes from play all Machine-Type monsters the opponent controls and in their Grave. His LPs drop to 3000. Next he attacks Syrus directly, leaving him with 1100. Then, he plays Rampage Condenser, which deals Syrus 500 damage if he attacks with a Machine-Type monster if Thunder controls a Thunder-Type monster (which he does) Hassleberry adds that Syrus isn't doing much better.

Thunder tells Syrus and Hassleberry they're pathetic, they're just bait. Frost adds that they're only dueling these two to lure Jaden to Sartorius. Hassleberry says they won't get their hands on Jaden. Frost tells them they're losing. Hassleberry decides to make up with Syrus and agrees to protect Syrus and vice-versa. Syrus draws and plays Stealthroid (1200) in Attack Mode. Next he activates Training Field and attacks, bringing his own score to 600 by Rampage Condenser's effect. Syrus tells Thunder his attack target is Element Saurus and explains that Training Field lets him attack his opponent's monster(which isn't Element Saurus) Hassleberry's score drops to 600. Thunder laughs, saying they really are pathetic but Syrus says he isn't done.

Due to Stealthroid's effect, he can destroy 1 card on the field and he selects Mobius' Glacier. (The real card can only destroy Spell or Trap Cards, which MG was.) and due to TF, his monster gains 300 ATK, putting Stealthroid's ATK at 1500. Hassleberry activates Counterattack!, letting his monster attack Syrus' monster, leaving his score at 100. Stealthroid's effect activates again, letting Syrus destroy RC.

(The real card's effect only activates when it attacks). ES' ATK rises back to 1300. Frost is amazed at the stunts Syrus and Hassleberry are pulling off. Either those two are the ultimate tag-team or they are getting played. Frost then notices the reflectors are casting a reflection on Syrus and Hassleberry, who apparently can see each others' cards, (which is dubbed as "cheating" by Thunder, yet he doesn't disqualify them) Syrus sets 2 cards and ends.

Frost draws and attacks Syrus' Stealthroid but Syrus activates Dark Computer Virus, which by tributing Stealthroid, lets him use an opponent's card and he selects Side Attack (which would be illegal since it's not in the Grave.) The players and their monsters switch, ES' ATK rises to 1800 (apparently due to DCV switching the targets of Side Attack) and Hassleberry activates Jurassic Impact, which destroys all monsters on the field and deals 1000 damage to the monster(s)' controller(s).

Hassleberry's score rises to 1300 while Syrus to 1800 as Syrus explains that he activated Ring of Life, letting him destroy a monster on the field and give them LPs equal to its DEF so he was the one who took out ES. Also, no one can summon monsters that turn. Hassleberry draws and ends. Thunder draws and sets 3 cards. Syrus draws and passes. Frost draws and sets 1 card to end his turn.

Hassleberry draws and activates Ultra Evolution, forcing him to remove from play 1 Dino-Type monster and 1 Machine-Type monster from his hand, then Special Summon a Dino-Type monster from his deck and he chooses Super Conductor Tyranno (3300) in Attack Mode. He attacks but Thunder activates Lightning Talisman, negating the attack and forcing everyone else to draw as well as dealing them 400 damage per card in their hand, leaving Frost with 1200, Syrus with 200 and Hassleberry with 500.

Thunder draws, realizing with his card he would win the duel but lose the rest of his LPs (so therefore you wouldn't win the duel, Thunder). He instead activates Monster Reincarnation, which by discarding 1 card lets him bring back Thunder Knight, which he plays (1200) in Defense Mode, deciding to save the real devastation for next turn. Syrus draws, thinking it's just what he needed to win. He activates Burial from a Different Dimension to return his removed from play monsters to his Grave.

Then he plays Expressroid (0400) in Attack Mode and with its effect he can return 2 cards from his Grave to his hand. (The real card can only pick 2 "roid" monsters.) Next he plays Vehicroid Connection Zone to play Super Vehicroid -  Stealth Union (3600) in Attack Mode. With his effect, he can combine it with another monster and chooses Conductor Tyranno. Now with SU's other effect, it can attack more than once. He attacks but Frost activates Mirror of Duality, which for 1000 LPs destroys all monsters on the field and deals 500 damage to its controller(s).

(Actually it deals 500 damage to everyone for each monster destroyed, except the player that activated MoD.) His score drops to 200, all monsters are destroyed and everyone elses' scores drop to 0. The monarch images disappear and the storm clears up. Frost tells them the storm is just getting started and that he knows where Jaden's friends are. He says they're getting colder in terms of altitude. He laughs and disappears as Jaden wonders what they're dealing with.
