Episode 59: A New Breed of Hero (2)

At the duel site, Jaden draws but Aster interrupts him with the old "time to get a new watch" phrase. What's the deal? Jaden can't tell time. Jaden says that whatever Clock Tower Prison is, he's pretty sure he has the cards to stop it. He plays Wroughtweiler (0800) in Attack Mode and attacks Doom Lord, destroying it and leaving Aster with 1600. Aster activates Destiny Signal, an unoriginal card as Jaden puts it. Aster says Jaden's just bitter because he himself has the upper hand and he can't blame him for if he hadn't activated the Trap Card, Aster wouldn't have been able to summon Destiny Hero - Captain Tenacious (0800) in Attack Mode.

He activates CTs effect, letting him bring back Doom Lord. (The real card can only bring back a monster that was destroyed by battle while it is face up on the field.) Next he plays Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude (1400) in Attack Mode and uses his effect, letting him flip a card and if it's a Spell Card, it goes to the Grave until next turn. (The real card only sends Normal Spells to the Grave.) He attacks and destroys Wroughtweiler with Diamond Dude, leaving Jaden with 2200.

With Wroughtweiler's effect, Jaden adds Bubbleman and Poly to his hand. Next, he attacks directly with Captain Tenacious, leaving Jaden with 1400. He sets 1 card to end his turn. (Why didn't he attack directly with Doom Lord? It would've dealt another 600 damage to Jaden.) Jaden plays Elemental Hero Bubbleman (0800) in Attack Mode and after drawing 2 cards, Jaden plays Bubble Blaster, doubling his monster's ATK to 1600. He attacks Tenacious but Aster activates D - Shield, putting his monster in Defense Mode and preventing it from being destroyed in battle.

Chazz says Aster maybe annoying, but he's good. Aster draws and while Jaden gets SFW back, he gets Misfortune back by Diamond Dude's effect and by skipping his Battle Phase, he deducts half the ATK of a monster Jaden has to Jaden's LPs. (The real Diamond Dude just activates the effect of the card and ignores everything else.) He chooses Shining Flare, leaving Jaden with 150. Then he uses DL's effect to again remove from play Jaden's SFW. In his lair, Sartorius can see Jaden struggle. Everything Jaden has ever believed in turned out to be a lie. He'll soon join Sartorius's side when he loses this duel.

Jaden draws but once again Aster reminds him of the Clock above his head. He told Jaden he was destined to lose. Now does Jaden believe in destiny? Jaden smirks. Aster asks if the pressure's getting to him but Jaden says guys like him live for pressure. Jaden says that with the new Destiny Hero cards, he's picking up good strategies but Aster says Jaden can't handle a deck like his. His cards are the best in the game! Jaden says that while they're cool he wouldn't call them the best in the game. (Neither would I as most of them fall short of even 1500 ATK.)

Jaden draws and attacks, destroying Doom Lord, leaving Aster with 600. Then he plays Elemental Hero Clayman (2000) in Defense Mode Aster uses CT's effect to bring Doom Lord back. Next, he uses Diamond Dude's effect to send the flipped card to the Grave. Then, he uses Doom Lord's effect to send Bubbleman out of play for 2 turns. Next he activates Ring of Magnetism on Tenacious, lowering its stats to 300. With its effect, Jaden can only attack Tenacious. Aster says his time has arrived. Jaden doesn't know that the clock's about to do but he must act fast. He inspects his hand. Oops! At 12:02 into the US episode, Burial from a Different Dimension and Elemental Hero Necroshade are shown as Diffusion Wave-Motion and Terrorking Archfiend!

He uses Poly for Elemental Hero Necroid Shaman (1900) in Attack Mode. Aster tells him that his monster doesn't even register on the hero scale. (I wouldn't consider your monsters heroes, either, Aster, at least Jaden's monster has decent ATK.) Aster doesn't want to hear Shaman's effect but Jaden activates it anyway, letting him replace Captain Tenacious with Avian. He attacks and destroys Doom Lord with Shaman but Aster's score remains unchanged as Aster explains that while his Clock Tower is out, he can't lose a single Life Point, he's invincible!

(Well, no you wouldn't, Aster, because all one would need to do is remove a Clock Counter or wipe out the cards in your deck and you'd be either taking damage or losing your deck.) Aster draws and once again Jaden's SFW appears while he gets to use Magical Stone Excavation, which returns a Spell Card to his hand by discarding 2 cards. He activates the card he returned, Misfortune but Jaden activates De-Fusion and Burial from a Different Dimension. Oops again! Burial from a Different Dimension's card art is shown as The Third Sarcophagus instead in the US at 14:40 into the US episode!

He uses Burial to return 3 cards removed from play to his Grave and De-Fusion to trade Shining Flare Wingman for Elemental Hero Sparkman (1600) and Elemental Hero Flame Wingman (2100) in Attack Mode. Jaden draws. Oops yet again! On Jaden's duel disk, Flame Wingman (first Fusion Monster from left to right) has his card art shown as Wild Wingman's in the US at 15:06 into the episode! He plays Fusion Gate, removing the need for Poly and destroying Clock Tower. Aster was hoping Jaden would do this, so he could summon Destiny Hero - Dreadmaster (????) in Attack Mode and with his effect, his non-Destiny Hero monsters are destroyed and he can bring back Destiny Hero - Doom Lord (0600) and Captain Tenacious in Attack Mode. Plus, he gains the ATK of every Destiny Hero monster on the field. (The real card doesn't gain ATK for himself.)

Jaden uses Fusion Gate to summon Elemental Hero Thunder Giant (2400) in Attack Mode and uses his effect but Aster activates Dreadmaster's other effect, preventing his monsters from damage. (The real card also protects them from being destroyed.) Aster explains that his father worked for Pegasus at Industrial Illusions when a punk took him away. His father told him that justice would always prevail but Aster learned it was a lie since he hasn't found his father. He'll find the person who took his dad away for he'll have the last card his father made.

He attacks with Dreadmaster, destroying Thunder Giant and winning the duel. As he walks away, he tells Jaden he can't hide from destiny. Jaden's cards fly out. Oops! Burst Return has been accidentally switched for Burstinatrix in the US at 20:36 into the episode!More cards appear. Oops again! Several cards aren't his and Hero Kid is a Normal Monster in both versions of the episode at 20:41! Jaden says something doesn't feel right as his cards go blank and he collapses.
