Episode 52: Graduation Match (2)

At the duel, the score is Zane with 2000 LPs, Jaden with 1900. Zane asks Jaden what he's going to do. He has only one monster while his own monster will blast it into oblivion. It's over! Jaden thinks it can't be over for he knows he can think of a way out of this and he'd better start fast or else! Zane asks Jaden what's wrong. Is he afraid? Is that Jaden's problem? He'll put Jaden out of his misery! Zane attacks with Cyber End Dragon but Jaden activates Soul Union, giving Wildedge Bladedge's ATK for a total of 5200. Zane says it's pointless since thanks to Power Bond he still has enough ATK to destroy Wildedge.

Jaden thinks he should put his thinking cap back on, wait it was on. Zane attacks and destroys Wildedge, leaving Jaden with 100 to which Zane doesn't understand, Jaden's LPs should be 0 but it is revealed that Jaden used Emergency Provisions for another 1000 LPs. Now Jaden activates Hero Signal, letting him play any Elemental Hero monster (The real card only allows Level 4 or less Elemental Hero monsters to be summoned with its effect.) and he chooses Elemental Hero Bubbleman (1200) in Defense Mode. With his effect, Jaden draws twice since he's alone on the field. (" ")

Zane says it's his turn and he plays Cyber Kirin (0300) in Attack Mode. He uses CK's effect to negate Power Bond's damage effect. Where's the Jaden that almost beat him last time? Jaden says he's right here, or so he thinks. Zane says that Jaden's heart is not in the duel and Jaden adds that neither is his stomach, he skipped lunch. He asks Dorothy for some lunch, which she gladly agrees to. Zane also allows Jaden to eat. Crowler isn't thrilled. What does Jaden think this is, some kind of smoregish board? Sheppard tells Crowler to give him a break for saving the world. Crowler's trying not to remember that.

Jaden says Zane was right, he wasn't being himself. After everyone watches Jaden eat, Jaden's back in the game. He plays Pot of Greed. Next he plays Elemental Hero Avian (1000) in Defense Mode. Then he activates Spy Hero, which by discarding 2 random cards from his deck to his Grave lets him use one of Zane's Spell Cards and he chooses and activates Future Fusion, which he sends Burstinatrix and Clayman to the Grave for Elemental Hero Rampart Blaster (2500) in Defense Mode. Finally, he sets 2 cards to end his turn.

Zane says Jaden's move was impressive but it was too little too late as he draws and plays Cyber Phoenix (1200) in Attack Mode. He attacks RB with CED but Jaden activates De-Fusion, which can split up a monster but Zane points out that Cyber Phoenix is out, negating the effects of Spell or Trap Cards that would target a Machine-Type monster he controls but Jaden's using it on his Rampart Blaster, bringing out Elemental Hero Burstinatrix (1200) and Elemental Hero Clayman (0800) both in Attack Mode. Zane thinks Jaden made a grave error for even when their ATKs are added, they don't even come close to his CED's 8000.

However, Zane then realizes that Jaden's not attacking, he's sacrificing as Jaden activates Elemental Burst, which destroys all cards Zane controls by tributing an EARTH, FIRE, WIND and WATER monster. Everyone gasps in awe as Zane's monsters are destroyed. Jaden says goodbye Cyber End Dragon, he can't say that he misses him but Zane says he won't have to for when CP is destroyed, he can move a card from his deck to his hand. (The real card lets you draw 1 card.) He chooses and activates Time Fusion, which by removing 1 card in his hand from play, he can Special Summon a Fusion Monster next turn, ignoring the summoning conditions.

Jaden draws and sets 1 card face down to end his turn. Zane thinks that Jaden will have to do better, especially for what he has planned. First, the card removed from play for Time Fusion returns and he activates it, Card from a Different Dimension, letting both of them draw twice. Next, with Time Fusion he plays his CED but as Bastion explains, the monster summoned by TF can't attack this turn. Zane sets 1 card to end his turn. Jaden plays Fusion Recovery to retrieve Polymerization and Burstinatrix, which he plays in Attack Mode.

Then he uses Miracle Fusion to remove from play Avian and Burstinatrix for Elemental Hero Flame Wingman (2100) in Attack Mode. Finally, he uses Poly to summon Elemental Hero Shining Flare Wingman (2500) in Attack Mode and with his effect, he gains 300 ATK for each Elemental Hero monster in Jaden's Grave. Oops! They've counted Rampart Blaster in increasing SF's ATK at 14:41 into both versions of the episode but she was returned to his deck with De-Fusion!

Nonetheless, SF's ATK rises to 4900 and Jaden attacks with it, destroying CED and leaving Zane with 1100. With SF's effect, Zane takes 4000 damage but Zane activates Damage Polarizer, negating damage done to a player by a card effect and lets both players draw a card, which both happen to be Battle Fusion. Jaden sets a card to end his turn.

Zane activates Power Bond, which lets him summon Cyber End Dragon but everyone points out Zane doesn't have any. Zane apologizes, saying he doesn't need any and activates Cybernetic Fusion Support, which for half his LPs he doesn't need sacrifices. His score drops to 550 and once again CED appears. With PB, its ATK doubles to 8000. Next he plays Limiter Removal, doubling the ATK of all Machine-Type monsters, raising CED's to 16,000. (The real card only doubles the ATK of Machine-Type monsters you control.)

Zane attacks with CED but Jaden activates Battle Fusion, giving SFW 16,000 ATK for a total of 20,900. However, Zane activates his Battle Fusion, raising CED's ATK to 36,900. He says he's handing Jaden the torch for once he leaves, Jaden will be number 1. Jaden says he has one more trick up his sleeve and activates Final Fusion, dealing both of them damage equal to their monsters' combined ATKs, leaving both of them with 0 LPs.  After anxiously waiting, everyone claps as Jaden awakens, asking how his hair is. Does this mean they have to duel again? Zane says yes and they will someday. They shake hands as Jaden says he needs a break. Zane agrees and they collapse, laughing.
