Episode 44: The Seventh Shadow Rider

At their dorm, the gang awaken to discover that they've missed breakfast. They discover that there is some left but hardly anything at all. Chazz uses the 'ol "You Snooze, You Lose" expression but the gang isn't happy. Syrus demands for Chazz to give back their food and Chazz responds that he would but he ate it all. The gang call for Professor Banner. At class, Syrus and Chumley tell a depressed Jaden that Sheppard has tons looking for Banner. At least they get a break from class.

(What break? You guys just got there.) Crowler walks in, saying that he'll be substitute for the day. He then talks about it supposed to being his day off and where Banner had left off. Realizing that it's "complete gibberish", at least from his standards he tries a lab experiment, which blows up in his face. Next he mentions that Sheppard wants to see the "key keepers". Sheppard explains that his men cannot find Banner. Chazz says that Banner probably got "sucked into the shadows". Alexis responds with the "don't say that" line. Sheppard adds that there hasn't been any new activity.

Later, Jaden and the gang are starting their search for Banner when Chazz decides to tag along. Syrus asks if he can laugh at Chazz instead of Jaden's idea of humoring him. They search with no avail until Chumley finds a note. No one can figure out what the note says except Chazz (or so he thinks). He concludes that Dorothy is the last Shadow Rider so he calls to confirm this but Dorothy hasn't the slightest clue what he's talking about. The gang continue searching, questioning Chazz about whether the items they find are clues. Syrus stumbles upon a map with the mark of Amnael. The gang conclude that Banner is there. Chazz says he'll lead the way and suggests using the "cotton wand" he used to search for Pharaoh before but Syrus has a better idea and converts Chazz into somewhat resembling a cat.

He wants to see Chazz meow but Chazz would rather uses his "claws" instead and chases after them. Meanwhile, up in a tree watching, a man with yellow eyes and a rather grey outfit appears. Elsewhere, Alexis enters and discovers that his brother is missing, then sees the mark of Amnael. She chases after the man until they enter an open area of the forest where the duel starts as she plays Poly for Cyber Blader (2100) in Attack Mode. She attacks (they must have not shown the opponent's turn for this is an illegal move otherwise) but the man activates a Spell or Trap Card, although there is no mention of what it is).

Back inside the forest, Syrus and Chumley run back towards Jaden and Chazz, complaining of snakes but neither Jaden nor Chazz appear to be worried. More snakes fall as Chumley calls for his mother. Back at the duel, from what the episode shows, the card must destroy all monsters the opponent controls. We now see that Alexis has only 1000 LPs left as the man wins the duel and seals her soul in some ancient tome. The gang are around a campfire, talking about some of the things Banner did as a friend. They hear Pharaoh's meow twice and search when Jaden says they should split to find Pharaoh. The mark of Amnael helps Chazz discover not only Pharaoh but some of Banner's belongings. Chazz is confronted by the same man, whom challenges him to a duel.

The rest of the gang are searching when Chumley says he found Pharaoh (well technically Chazz found him). Back at the duel, Chazz has only 800 LPs left and Armed Dragon LV7 on the field. He uses AD's ability to destroy the man's monsters and next turn he'll attack directly. (That was dumb he could've at least done some major damage to his LPs.) The man plays a monster, then uses that same card, which from his actions appears to be a Spell Card and it must be a Quick-Play Spell Card for he activated it earlier in the episode (although Alexis called it a Trap Card). Chazz's monsters are destroyed and the man wins the duel. Meanwhile, the gang find Chazz's cards and the Ojama Brothers. Elsewhere, the man unlocks the spirit gates (not sure how since Jaden still has his key). Jaden and the gang see the pillars of light rise. Jaden doesn't know what it is but it can't be good.
