Episode 38: Get Yarr Game On!

At their "eating area", Syrus discovers that Jaden sold his bed for a card. Jaden tells Syrus he did it for him. Isn't his birthday next week? Syrus snaps and says it was last Tuesday. He's surprised he made it with what Jaden put him through. He might need a new roommate. Chazz overhears this and asks if it's trouble in paradise but Syrus says it was private. It's just Chazz. They share everything, like dessert but Chazz isn't interested and tells him to keep dreaming.

Then can Jaden have his corndogs and mashed potatoes? An angry Syrus adds to getting a bed. Chumley arrives asking if anyone ordered a sub because there's one parked outside. The "pirate" announces he be the admiral and wants to duel Jaden Yuki. After more yelling and pirate lingo, Jaden boards along with the rest. Everyone is amazed at the submarine's interior. At the underwater dueling arena, Jaden plays Elemental Hero Wildheart (1600) in Defense Mode then questions the admiral what his shadow game is but the admiral has no clue what Jaden's talking about even after Jaden tries to explain it in his own language.

Admiral plays A Legendary Ocean and Jaden acts like he's drowning until Bastion reminds him that it's a hologram. Admiral then plays Orca Mega Fortress of Darkness (2100) in Attack Mode (as ALO lowers the Level of all WATER monsters in both players' hands by 1 but they don't tell you that) and ALO gives it and every WATER monster 200 ATK and DEF for a total of 2300. He attacks and destroys Wildheart. Jaden plays Elemental Hero Avian (1000) in Defense Mode and sets a card to end his turn. What's so important about Jaden? Admiral tells him that he needs someone to run his underwater DA but Jaden passes up the opportunity. Admiral makes a wager which lets Jaden and his friends go free if he wins but forces Jaden to stay with him if he loses.

He activates his face down card, Cursed Waters Level 3, allowing him to summon monsters whose total levels are 3 so he plays Torpedo Fish (1000) and Cannonball Spear Shellfish (1000) in Attack Mode, whom get raised to 1200 by ALO (and are also down a Level thanks to ALO's other effect that they're not mentioning here). Next he uses OMFD's effect, tributing his TF and CSS to destroy Jaden's cards. Then he attacks directly, leaving Jaden with 1700.

Jaden plays Poly for Elemental Hero Thunder Giant (2400) in Attack Mode and his effect destroys OMFD. He attacks directly, dropping Admiral's score to 1600. He sets 2 cards to end his turn. Admiral asks Jaden if he wants to be rich but Jaden doesn't care about the money. He then plays The Shallow Grave, allowing both to play monsters in Defense Mode. (The real card summons monsters in face down Defense Mode.) He chooses his Orca Mega Fortress and Jaden chooses Elemental Hero Clayman (2000) in Defense Mode.

Admiral tells Jaden that the OMF is a sacrifice for he tributes it for Levia-Dragon - Daedalus (2600) in Attack Mode. He uses its effect, which destroys all other cards on the field by sending ALO to the Graveyard. Jaden uses his face down Emergency Provisions to send his last face down card to the Graveyard, putting his score to 2700. Admiral attacks directly, leaving Jaden with 100 LPs.

Jaden Special Summons Elemental Hero Bubbleman (0800) in Attack Mode and his second effect gives Jaden 2 cards if alone on the field. Next Jaden uses Pot of Greed for another 2 cards. Then he uses The Warrior Returning Alive to retrieve Elemental Hero Sparkman, which he summons (1600) in Attack Mode. He then plays Metamorphosis, which by tributing a monster lets him play a Fusion Monster of the same level so he brings out Elemental Hero Neo Bubbleman (0800) in Attack Mode.

(The real card is an Effect Monster and requires Metamorphosis and Bubbleman to be sent to the Graveyard.) He equips NB with Bubble Blaster for another 800 ATK, raising its ATK to 1600 (as Neo Bubbleman counts as Bubbleman while on the field but they don't tell you that). He attacks but doesn't destroy LD.

However, by destroying BB, Jaden's score doesn't change and NB destroys the monster it battled with at the end of the Damage Step so Levia-Dragon is destroyed. He finishes of the Admiral's score with Sparkman. Admiral tells Jaden that his friends left and that he is stuck here. Back on the dock, everyone us glum about Jaden finding a new life underwater.

Alexis says it's tough but Jaden said he wanted to stay yet Syrus hears another boat coming and it's Jaden, who says he escaped, hopefully in one piece as his boat sputters to a stop. Syrus dives in to save Jaden until Jaden reminds Syrus that he cannot swim and pulls Jaden into the water. Syrus agrees to be Jaden's shipmate if Jaden gets him a new bed.
