Episode 37: Duel Distractions (2)

Yelps are heard as Alexis says she cannot stand hearing Bastion yelling while being unable to do anything about it. Chazz says that Bastion's probably been dueling all night and sounds like he's been losing all night. They hear a noise and Chumley points to the entrance of the coliseum. A blushing Bastion walks out and collapses as the gang rush over. He says that Tanya dumped her and he's crushed. Chazz says he's lucky. Banner doesn't understand and neither does Bastion.

He and Tanya were to be married but she told him that he wasn't duelist enough and needed someone who can duel at her level. Back at DA, Bastion continues to moan about Tanya dumping her and  as he enters one of the arenas, he is confronted with the rest of the gang, whom want a duel to cheer him up but Bastion replies he cannot duel without Tanya. Zane reminds him that she's a Shadow Rider. Jaden proposes that Bastion ask Tanya for a rematch and he'll be his wingman. Tanya is aggravated that all there is to duel are weaklings and attacks the walls of her arena. The gang arrive but Tanya isn't interested in dueling Bastion and finds Jaden to be brave enough to duel.

Jaden accepts and plays Elemental Hero Avian (1000) in Defense Mode to end his turn. Tanya plays Amazoness Paladin (1700) in Attack Mode and her effect gives her 100 ATK for every Amazoness monster out, raising her ATK to 1800. Next, she plays Amazoness Charm, switching all of Jaden's Defense Position monsters to Attack Mode and giving them 200 ATK, putting Avian to Attack Mode and his ATK to 1200. Crowler doesn't understand why Tanya would play a card that increases Jaden's monsters' ATKs and Bastion says for the passion.

Tanya then plays Amazoness Arena, giving both of them 600 LPs to 4600. Oops! At 8:22 into the episode, their LP are shown at 4000 instead of 4600 since they gained LP from AA's effect! She attacks with AP, destroying Avian and returning Jaden's score to 4000. Oops again! Even after Jaden's score drops to exactly 4000, his gauge is still blue in the US as shown at 8:58 into the episode!

Tanya then explains that her AR allows both players to pay 100 LPs and deal the other 100 damage, so Jaden's score drops to 3900 and Tanya's drops to 4500. After their "soul battle", Jaden's down to 3800 and Tanya's down to 4400. Jaden plays Poly for Elemental Hero Thunder Giant (2400) in Attack Mode and uses his effect, destroying AP and attacking directly, putting Tanya on her back and her score to 2000. He asks if she's okay and as we find out, she is as she quickly hops to her feet. She sets 1 card and plays Amazoness Swords Woman (1500) in Attack Mode.

Next she activates Amazoness Call, which sends TG back to Jaden's deck and summons Elemental Hero Clayman (0800) and Elemental Hero Sparkman (1600) in Attack Mode from the Graveyard. She attacks and destroys Clayman with SW, dropping Jaden's score to 3100. Next, she and Jaden have their "soul battle" again, putting their scores to 1800 and 2900. Jaden plays Elemental Hero Burstinatrix (1200) in Attack Mode and attacks SW with Sparkman.

However, Tanya activates Amazoness Archers, draining 600 ATK from Jaden's monsters, destroying Sparkman and reducing Jaden's score to 2400. Next he uses Amazoness Arena, dropping his score to 2300 and her score to 1700. Their "soul battle" leaves them with 2200 and 1600 LPs. Tanya uses AA to have Burstinatrix attack, destroying her and reducing Jaden's LPs to 1300.

Jaden once again uses Tanya's arena twice more, leaving him with 1100 and her with 1400. Then he uses The Warrior Returning Alive to retrieve Clayman to his hand. Tanya plays Amazoness Tiger (1100) in Attack Mode and her effect boosts her ATK to 1900. She attacks with SW but Jaden activates A Hero Emerges, forcing Tanya to pick a card and Jaden can summon it if it's a monster, which it is so he plays Clayman in Defense Mode but SW's effect deals Jaden all damage Tanya would've taken, reducing his score to 600. After yet another "soul battle", both players are left with 400 and 1200 LPs. She then attacks with AT, putting her own score to 1100. Then they have yet another "soul battle", leaving Jaden with 200 and herself with 900.

Then she uses Amazoness Trainer, which not only boosts AT's ATK by 400, but as Zane says it gives AT another attack, which it does but Jaden activates Clay Charge, which destroys both monsters and deals Tanya 800 damage, leaving her with 100. Tanya says that thanks to her ASW's effect, he cannot win but Jaden disagrees, saying he drew just the card he needed, Elemental Hero Wildheart (1500) in Attack Mode and attacks ASW, destroying both monsters.

Then he uses the arena's effect. Alexis says Tanya's down to 100 ATK points. (Why can't the dubbers tell the difference between ATK and Life Points? -_-) The final "soul battle" happens and  Jaden tells her to let him know if she wants a rematch but she doesn't for she tells him that she's not worthy. Her score drops to 0 and Jaden's to 100. She morphs into a tiger and bids Bastion goodbye.
