Episode 32: Field of Screams (2)

At DA hospital, Jaden says he'll play a monster, a Spell Card and a Trap Card once he gets better. Camula's going to get it soon! Chazz tells him he can't even win a duel with a sheet but after a few seconds, Jaden succeeds yet Chazz tries to win 2/3 and while Jaden struggles, he says that the rest should duel and by the rest he means himself but Bastion isn't interested. Zane walks out and Syrus stops him to ask where he's going and Zane replies that if all that matters is rescuing Crowler's soul and the key, Syrus should know exactly where he's going.

Meanwhile, Camula senses the friend she has been hoping for is coming, and she's ready. Elsewhere, Chazz is organizing his deck and Ojama Yellow asks how things are going. They were going fine until OY showed up. OY takes Chazz's words as a nice compliment then heads over to see the Crowler doll, whom he discovers talks. "That's Dr. Crowler alright," Chazz says. He looks out the window and fears that Camula is back and darts out. Everyone else fears this and also race out. Can they explain to Chumley why they're going too the place instead of running away from it? They enter and as Camula says, they're right on time.

She asks if Zane is ready and Zane says he is. She plays Vampire Lady (1550) in Defense Mode and one card face down to end her turn. Zane plays Power Bond (whose art has been redesigned for US as shown at 7:24 into the episode) and brings out Cyber End Dragon (4000) in Attack Mode. Is Zane certain he can handle the consequences? Chumley agrees, saying that Power Bond deals  damage to its controller equal to the summoned monster's ATK or 4000 in this case but that may be a risk Zane is willing to take for PB also doubles CED's ATK to 8000.

Zane attacks but Camula activates Red Ghost Moon, which by discarding a Zombie-Type monster, ends the Battle Phase and gives her LPs equal to the attacking monster's ATK for 8000 additional LPs but Zane activates De-Fusion, bringing out his 3 Cyber Dragons (2100 each) and with Power Bond gone, he won't have to take damage. (In the real game, regardless of whether the monster is gone or not the player who uses it still takes damage.) He sets a card face down and ends his turn. His Cyber Dragons have been very slightly modified for US as shown at 9:49 into the episode.

Camula now sees why Zane is ranked the top duelist at DA but Zane says she hasn't seen anything yet. She hopes so and draws, tributing Vampire Lady for Vampire Lord (2000) in Attack Mode, then removes him from play for Vampire Genesis (3000) in Attack Mode. She attacks but Zane activates Attack Reflector Unit, which tributes CD for Cyber Barrier Dragon (0800) in Attack Mode and by its effect, it can cancel out the attack of an opponent's monster. Zane draws and plays Pot of Greed, giving him 2 cards. Next he plays Photon Generator Unit, which tributes his Cyber Dragons for Cyber Laser Dragon (2400) in Attack Mode and uses its effect, allowing it to destroy any monster whose ATK or DEF is equal to or greater than Laser Dragon's ATK so VG is destroyed. He attacks directly with both his monsters, dropping Camula's score to 800.

Unfortunately, Zane is forcing Camula to reveal her ugly side and it will only get uglier as she plays Illusion Gate, destroying all monsters Zane controls and letting her summon any monster Zane has used this duel. Zane says no card would be powerful enough to do that without a catch! Camula says there is a small one: If she loses this duel she must sacrifice a soul to the Sacred Beasts.

She wants Syrus' soul and takes it then plays Zane's Cyber End Dragon in Attack Mode. Zane thinks that he could win with his face down Call of the Haunted but Syrus says he doesn't mind being sacrificed since it's a small price to pay. Zane stands down and Camula attacks with CED, wiping out Zane's LPs. She takes his key, doll, and soul and vanishes. Jaden shows, saying her fun stops here. He may not be up to snuff but he doesn't care. He'll take Camula on.
