Episode 33: Field of Screams (3)

Inside Sheppard's office, Sheppard watches as two of the gates are unlocked. A man comes up on his computer, saying that he's disappointed in the "excellent duelists" and suggests Sheppard hand over the remaining keys to him but Sheppard refuses, saying that if he knows his students, they won't give up, no matter what the odds. After all, they came to be champions but the man says that they will become victims as his vampire is ready to feed again.

At DA hospital, Jaden tosses and turns in bed as Alexis hopes for him to get better and says that with her brother unconscious, they need all they can get to defeat Camula. Atticus' medallion half glows and Atticus awakens. Outside, Chumley and Syrus try to get Banner to duel Camula but Banner says he can't duel. Who will take care of his cat? Chazz says it doesn't matter because it's clearly a job for himself anyway. If he means feeding the cat he's right. Alexis announces that the cavalry is here as she arrives in a boat and steps out, saying that they don't need Banner to duel when they have Jaden. If they can stop Camula from stealing souls with their own charm with all their might, they can defeat her. They have their own charm, compliments of Atticus.

Jaden walks into Camula's house, demanding to duel Camula so he can take back his friends' souls and he's not leaving until he gets them but Camula says they aren't leaving ever again. When someone duels him and takes his friends' souls, Jaden gets into a bad mood but Camula doesn't care. Jaden plays Poly for Elemental Hero Tempest (2800) in Attack Mode and sets a card to end his turn. Camula draws and plays Illusion Gate, destroying all monsters on the field and letting her play a monster Jaden used in the duel. For the cost, she decides to put all his friends at risk but Jaden's necklace cancels out her IG's soul stealing effect so she sacrifices her own soul and brings out Jaden's Tempest in Attack Mode.

Next she plays Zombie Werewolf (1200) in Attack Mode. She attacks directly with Tempest, leaving Jaden with 1200, then tries to attack directly with ZW but Tempest isn't happy and Jaden activates Cross Heart, giving Jaden his Tempest back. Jaden attacks ZW, destroying it and dropping Camula's score to 2400. He sets a card and ends his turn. Camula plays Pot of Greed for 2 cards. Next she tributes ZW for Vampire Lord (2000) in Attack Mode then removes him from play to summon Vampire Genesis (3000) in Attack Mode. She then plays Genesis Crisis, allowing her to add a Zombie-Type monster from her deck to her hand and then she can discard that monster and Special Summon a Zombie-Type monster from her Graveyard of a lower level and she chooses Zombie Werewolf in Attack Mode.

Next, she uses Giant Trunade, returning all Spell and Trap Cards both players control to their owners' hands. "How did she know that?" Syrus asks. Bastion says he doesn't know but he says that Camula knows their decks better than anyone and has calculated a perfect strategy against them. (She also could've seen Jaden's face down card and wasn't going to allow Jaden to keep Tempest on the field.) Camula explains that her bats were spying on all of their decks and attacks with Genesis, destroying Tempest, then attacks directly but Jaden's score doesn't drop as Jaden explains that when his face down Insurance card is sent back to his hand, he gets 500 LPs, leaving him with 300.

Insurance has been slightly redesigned for US as shown at 13:13 into the episode, although it's kinda hard to seeCamula uses the effect of Genesis Crisis to add another Zombie-Type monster to her hand. Banner suggests maybe to put Camula in a local blood bank and Jaden says it's worse than that for he thinks that Camula craves their spirit keys a lot more. Camula says Jaden has no idea what she craves. She tells her story, and afterwards says that Jaden's smart for a mortal and perhaps he would be useful and give up. Oops! Vampire Genesis is a Normal Monster in the US version at 15:23 into the episode (although it's difficult to see)!

Jaden uses Pot of Greed. Next, he plays Dark Factory of Mass Production. Third, he plays Fusion Gate and uses its effect to summon Elemental Hero Flame Wingman, then Elemental Hero Shining Flare Wingman (2500) in Attack Mode. Camula says he must be cheating for Jaden never played that card. Jaden says that he wasn't. Camula replies that even so, SFW isn't strong enough to defeat her Genesis but Jaden disagrees for SFW gains 300 ATK for every Elemental Hero monster in his Graveyard for an ATK of 3100. He attacks, destroying Genesis and putting Camula's score to 2300.

Camula says it's not enough but Jaden says he has plenty more as SFW deals damage to the controller of the destroyed monster equal to its ATK, wiping out the rest of her LPs. Her soul is captured and her body disintegrates. Zane's body is restored as Alexis warns that the castle is collapsing. The gang race out and the castle crumbles to the ground. Back at the hospital, Atticus says that Jaden did it, then shuts his eyes. Jaden says they may have beaten Camula but more Shadow Riders are on the way.
