Episode 165: Deck of Armor

Yami and Tea` make their way back to the tracks where the train derailed and agree to follow them to find Joey. Further up, we find Joey and Tristan inching along when Joey protests that it's Tristan's turn to carry Rex. Tristan adds that it's only been 4 minutes but decides to play Rock Paper Scissors with Joey to settle things but wins once again. When Tristan offers to by Joey a pepperoni pizza when they find civilization, Joey races ahead, leaving Tristan to catch up and offering to play for the pizza. At Dartz's headquarters, Mai announces to leave Joey to her and isn't accepting what she's told to do and leaves. Valon gets up to stop her but Dartz says to let her go because fate won't let her run away.

Meanwhile, a biker gang is riding along when Mai shows up on her motorcycle and neither her nor the biker gang are intimidated until Mai brings out Harpie Lady and defeats the entire gang at once. Up ahead, Valon is riding his own motorcycle and gets Mai to play a game but they stop just an inch apart between their front tires. Mai doesn't need Valon but Valon says they need each other and offers to team up with her to defeat Joey but Mai duels alone. Elsewhere, Duke is driving the trailer home where Professor Hawkins is sleeping and asks why they left so early. Rebecca explains that they need PH to translate the ruins (though none of her reasons are good enough for me to conclude it was worthwhile leaving earlier).

Duke spots Mai and Valon, remembering that Valon is with the biker gang and therefore works for Dartz. The truck is stopped and Rebecca bolts out, demanding to know where Yugi is, then prepares to duel for the rights to be told. Duke protests not to duel but Mai talks Valon into dueling and then Duke decides to pair up with Rebecca. Everyone draws before Valon summons Psychic Armor Head (0000) in Attack Mode, leaving Duke and Rebecca suspicious. Duke pays 1000 LPs to activate Summon Dice, bringing his score down to 3000 and letting him roll a die with a 1 or 2 letting him play 2 monsters in a single turn, a 3 or 4 letting him Special Summon a monster from his Grave but he wants a 5 or 6, which is what he gets and lets him play a high-level monster without Tributes so he plays Orgoth the Relentless (2500) in Attack Mode. Rebecca draws and plays Luster Dragon #2 (1900) in Attack Mode. (They're doing it how Konami should've done it as it was the second card to be named Luster Dragon, though the real card's name is just Luster Dragon and the original got renamed Luster Dragon #2.) Next she sets 1 card to end her turn. Valon uses PAH's effect to add 1 Armor Monster from his Deck to his hand. Next he tributes PAH for Double Cloth Armor (0000) in Attack Mode and sets 1 card to end his turn.

Duke draws and sets 1 card before attacking, destroying OtR and leaving his score down to 1750 but then causing DCA to self-destruct. Rebecca draws and tributes LD#2 for Luster Dragon (which used to be this card's name in the CG but got renamed) (2400) in Attack Mode and attacks but Valon activates Magnet Armor to bring back Double Cloth Armor, causing LD to be destroyed and leaving Rebecca down to 2800 LPs before DCA self-destructs again. (In the CG, Valon's move would've caused a replay and Rebecca could've chosen not to attack.) However, Rebecca discards her hand to activate Rope of Life, bringing her Luster Dragon back with 800 more ATK to leave it with 3200. (The real card can only bring back monsters destroyed in battle and LD/LD#2 was destroyed by DCA's effect.)

Duke activates Sword Revival to trade LD for Diamond Head Dragon, whose ATK equals LD's ATK plus 1000, leaving it with 4200 ATK and putting the monster on Rebecca's field. Valon draws and uses Psychic Armor Head's other effect to Special Summon itself. Next he uses Armored Gravitation to bring out Active Guard, Over Boost, Big Bang Blow, and Trap Buster (0000 x4) in Attack Mode (though not stated) and equips himself with these cards. Next he attacks with Big Bang Blow but Rebecca activates Mirror Force yet due to Trap Buster's effect (which isn't stated here either), it negates MF's effect and Valon destroys DHD to win the duel. Before he leaves, he asks Duke and Rebecca to tell Joey he's next. With that, Mai heads off, reminding Valon that she works alone. Meanwhile, Tristan and Duke are tuckered out on the tracks when they see the strange colored lights that Tea` and Yami see and Yami fears it's the Great Leviathan and they're running out of time.

On board his plane, Mokuba and Kaiba discuss Yami's loss, which isn't worth Kaiba's time. However, Mokuba brings Kaiba's attention to the strange lights and Kaiba doesn't trust them. Just then the pilots voice interrupts their concentration to warn of minor turbulence and to fasten their seatbelts to be safe and the pilot is Alister!
