Episode 166: Flight of Fear (1)

Outside, Tea removes her shoes to ease the pain of her blisters and would've worn better shoes if they know they were hiking. Meanwhile, Joey and Tristan encounter a rattle snake and while they argue over whom to make the first move, Kaiba doesn't like that the plane is flying into the strange lights and will order a turnaround if the lights don't fade away within the next 2 minutes. The lights start flickering and Mokuba suggests Kaiba order the turnaround right away. When no answer comes, Kaiba and Mokuba go there themselves and find that it's Alister wanting to settle their unfinished business. Mokuba realizes that Alister is probably in the cockpit but instead they find the plane on autopilot.  Where's the rest of the crew? There wasn't any because it was an illusion.

Back in the fuselage, Alister plays one last game before revealing himself on the other side of a table. The two argue about who won their duel (and my memory says you both tied thanks to your Contagion of Madness card Alister). Alister says to put that duel behind them and suggests a rematch for what Kaiba's father did but Mokuba protests that it's not Kaiba's fault. Kaiba just wants to get on with the rematch if Alister will get out of his life (beat him and he will, provided he plays the Seal of Orichalcos). Kaiba gets the duel set up by retracting the table and chars between him and Alister. Alister starts off the duel with Science Soldier (800) in Defense Mode. Oops! At 6:37 into the US episode, the card is an Effect Monster! Kaiba draws and plays X-Head Cannon (1800) in Attack Mode and easily destroys SS with it. Alister draws and summons Cyber Soldier of Darkworld (1200) in Defense Mode, then sets 1 card to end his turn.

Kaiba takes his turn by summoning Y-Dragon Head (1500) in Attack Mode and uses its attack to destroy CSoD, then has XHC attack directly to leave Alister down to 2200 LPs. Finally he sets 1 card to end his turn. Alister draws, reminding Kaiba of one card in his deck, the Seal of Orichalcos and its presence not only forces Mokuba to the stairs leading to the cockpit but causes the autopilot to shut off. The fuselage opens up and the duel is moved to the top. The darkness conceals Alister and Kaiba but Kaiba isn't excited at all. Down below, Mokuba awakens to find Alister and Kaiba no longer with him and wonders whether they're up above. The plane rolls to the left and Mokuba realizes that the autopilot is to blame. He races in and pulls back on the steering column but quickly realizes it's out of action and while he attempts to radio for help, Alister transports Kaiba to his past where he finds himself in some kind of underground basement where three little boys come down the stairs with food and aren't willing to share any with Kaiba, whom has drawn his attention to a chess game similar to the one he and Mokuba played. One of the boys, revealed as Aaron, asks Kaiba if he knows how to play and Kaiba replies that he was the best but Aaron's friends order Aaron to go get dessert with Kaiba.

Kaiba heads up the steps not convinced about anything Alister is showing him but once above ground, asks Aaron how long their predicament has been going. He learns that Gozaburo Kaiba bought the land about a year earlier and Kaiba realizes that Gozaburo must be responsible. Aaron warns to keep going as they never know when Gozaburo's men will find them and suggests they play chess when they get back. The smoke and flames makes Aaron realize that it's right near their hideout and darts off with Kaiba following and warning that it's too dangerous. They reach the flames and Kaiba holds Aaron back from trying to get to his friends when three tanks show up and Kaiba wants out of this.  Alister appears and his monster destroys Kaiba's Y-Dragon Head, then uses his activated Tank Corp's effect and selects his KC-1 Cratyon (2000) in Attack Mode played earlier, letting him get 3 tokens and giving KC1C 1500 more ATK to 3500. As a result, Kaiba lost 2000 LPs to bring him down to 2000 LPs. He sets 1 card, considering it hopeless for Kaiba.

Kaiba uses Monster Reborn on Y-Dragon Head, then plays Z-Metal Tank (1500) in Attack Mode and combines them for XYZ-Dragon Cannon (2800) in Attack Mode. (The real card is Summoned by removing its Fusion Materials from play.) Next he activates XYZDC's effect to discard his last card and destroy Tank Corp, destroying the tokens in the process and bringing KC1C's ATK back down to 2000.  His attack destroys KC1C and leaves Alister down to 1400 LPs and returns them back to reality. Alister rants that the world is full of hate and that's what he's here to do with his new family.  The plane rolls to the left again and Kaiba realizes that Mokuba is inside but Alister says it's his soul that he should be worried about. Mokuba is having no luck pitching the nose up to avoid the mountain. Alister draws and with a plane out of control and Kaiba about to lose the last duel of his career, it's just no Kaiba's day!
