Episode 161: On the Wrong Track (2)

At the duel, Weevil concludes that it's over as Yami's Obnoxious Celtic Guard/Guardian becomes a Cocoon of Evolution. Yami takes his turn by playing Polymerization to bring out Gaia the Dragon Champion (2600) in Attack Mode and attacks but Weevil activates DNA Surgery and chooses to make all monsters on the field into Insects, stopping Yami's attack thanks to Insect Barrier. Yami may have beaten Weevil before but Weevil is stronger this time. Meanwhile, Joey's isn't fond of Tristan's words and Rex draws and uses Polymerization to summon Horned Saurus (2000) in Attack Mode, then plays Giant Rex (2000) in Attack Mode, each getting the Seal of Orichalcos' boost to raise their ATKs by 500 to 2500 each (and future monsters Rex and Weevil play automatically have this included in their ATK).  Rex uses Horned Saurus' attack as a direct attack (what they don't tell you is it's just the turn HS is Summoned), leaving Joey down to 1500 LPs. Next, his GR destroys Joey's Panther Warrior and leaves Joey down to 1000 LPs. Finally, he attacks directly with Gilasaurus but Joey activates Scapegoat, losing one Goat Token in the attack.

Meanwhile, Yami warns Weevil of the impending rock formation and Weevil ducks in time, then draws and uses Cell Division to give himself a token of Leghul (800) in Attack Mode. Yami isn't frightened but Weevil concludes that rumors about Yami being only second rate without Yugi must be true. Next he tributes Leghul and Pheromone Wasp for Insect Queen (2700) in Attack Mode. (They've decided to change Insect Queen's breasts to match the rest of her body for whatever reason as shown at 7:03 into the US episode but usually they're at least toned down or something.) Plus, IQ gets 200 ATK per Insect in play and with 2 on each side, IQ's ATK goes up to 3500. First, Weevil uses Leghul's effect to attack directly, leaving Yami down to 1900 LPs. Next, he attacks with IQ, tributing Leghul by IQ's effect, lowering IQ's ATK to 3300, destroying Yami's GtDC and leaving Yami's score at 1200, then causing IQ to put an egg onto the field with 100 ATK. Joey draws and plays Rocket Warrior (1300) in Defense Mode, then sets 2 cards to end his turn.

He then asks Rex if the duel is worth it and Rex is tired of being mocked, reminding Joey of what Mai said and concludes that Dartz prays on others' weaknesses. When Rex attacks, Joey activates Magic Arm Shield (Magical Arm Shield in the CG) to take control of Rex's Gilasaurus and make it the attack target but Rex responds with Jurassic Heart, negating MAS' effect and destroying it since it's targeting a Dinosaur With that, Rex's attacks resume, leaving Joey down to 1 Goat Token and one attack away from losing his soul and sets 1 card to end his turn. Joey's draw yields him the Red-Eyes B. Dragon he won from Rex at Duelist Kingdom and Joey uses Star Blaster to tribute his last Goat Token, roll a die and add 1 to the result (referring to the Level 1 Goat Token he tributed). SB's roll lands on 6 so Joey can play the Level 7 Red-Eyes Black Dragon (Red-Eyes B. Dragon in the CG) (2400) in Attack Mode. Next, he gives it his face down Metalmorph card to raise its ATK and DEF by 300 to 2700 and 2300 respectively and giving it half the ATK if its attack target.

He orders Red-Eyes to attack, giving REBD 1250 ATK to 3950, destroying HS and leaving Rex angry and down to 2550 LPs. Finally, he sets 1 card to end his turn.

On the train, Tea` remarks that people like Weevil never win but when Yami adds that those people are power hungry worms, Weevil notes that Yami is under the same category after what he did to Yugi and all of his monsters in his last duel. Weevil is just opening Yami's eyes up to the truth and it's causing Yami to doubt himself as Yami grips his shaking hand. Back on the ground, Rex is angry that Joey would play what used to be his own best card and tells Joey the story of how his and Weevils' lives went sour. However, Joey doesn't feel bad because it's not his fault and that Rex is dueling for the wrong reasons. Rex explains that he learned being nice got him nowhere and decided to join Dartz's team as he finally has the power he needs to win against Joey. He tributes Gilasaurus and Horned Saurus for Tyrant Dragon (3400) in Attack Mode.

They both have giant dragons but only one will remain standing. At Weevil's duel, Yami draws, getting reminded that in just one more turn the Cocoon of Evolution will hatch. Yami plays Kuriboh (200) in Defense Mode, then sets 1 card to end his turn (and at 20:17 into the US episode, they've moved Yami's monsters to the next slots on his Duel Disk). Yami is about to pay the ultimate price and Weevil will be known as the duelist who dethroned the King of Games!
