Episode 162: On the Wrong Track (3)

At the train duel, Weevil draws, ready to send Yami packing for good but Yami activates Natural Selection, giving him a token of 1 monster on the field that is identical to the original and destroying the original monster. With that, Yami gets a token of Insect Queen and Weevil loses his normal Insect Queen. Weevil isn't stirred and tributes the egg laid by Insect Queen for Armored Centipede (1600) in Attack Mode, getting the 500 ATK boost to 2100 thanks to the Seal of Orichalcos. His attack with it destroys Yam's Kuriboh, giving itself 500 ATK to 2600 since it destroyed an Insect-Type monster. (A very similar card called Insect Princess has this effect but has a bit more original ATK.) With that, Weevil ends his turn and as a result, Yami's token is destroyed and his Cocoon is about to hatch.

Meanwhile, Rex attacks with his Tyrant Dragon, destroying Joey's Red-Eyes and leaving Joey down to just 300 LPs. However, Rex uses Chain of the Underworld to return Red-Eyes back to Joey's field with 700 less ATK, putting its ATK at 1700. Why would Rex revive Joey's monster? What better way to humiliate Joey and once he attacks, the duel is over. Plus his Tyrant Dragon can attack  again if the opponent has another monster, which Joey now dies and thanks to that same Trap Card, Joey gets to draw 1 card. Rex attacks but Joey activates Celebration of Creation, ending Rex's turn since a monster was Summoned by a Spell or Trap Card effect. On board the train duel, Yami's Cocoon of Evolution reveals itself as Poison Butterfly (2700) in Attack Mode but Joey on the ground meanwhile draws and plays Gearfried the Iron Knight (1800) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Pot of Greed. Then, he tells Rex the origins of Gearfried the Iron Knight.

When he finishes, he uses Release Restraint to swap Gearfried for Gearfried the Swordmaster (2600) in Attack Mode. Rex snickers as Joey's new monster is weaker but Joey also shows his Claw of Hermos card, which might actually help. On the train, Weevil taunts Yami by saying that Poison Butterfly's effect isn't that bad but Yami's draw is about to change that. He plays his Eye of Timaeus card and goes to fuse it with Poison Butterfly but Timaeus self-destructs during the fusing as Weevil explains that Timaeus is returning the favor for how it was treated in Yami's last duel. Yami has no choice but to end his turn and takes 500 damage by PB's effect, bringing his score down to 700. Weevil draws, then sets 1 card to end his turn.

On the ground, Rex knows what's coming as he witnessed Joey use this against Mai but Joey plays Claw of Hermos and merges it with his Red-Eyes for Red-Eyes Black Dragon Sword, which he equips to GtS, raising its ATK by 500 for the Dragon-Type monster on the field and an extra 1000 ATK for a total of 4100 ATK but this is all meaningless as due to REBDS' other effect, Rex's Tyrant Dragon is destroyed automatically, leaving Rex defenseless. Next Joey attacks directly, assuring that Rex will be saved once Yugi is, winning the duel. First task is to find where Dartz is and if they find him, they'll find Yugi. Back on the train, Yami draws and summons Breaker the Magical Warrior (1900) in Attack Mode (getting the Spell Counter and raising its ATK by 300 but they don't tell or show you that). This activates Weevil's Infestation card, draining each monster on the field by 100 ATK, leaving AC down to 2500 ATK, PB down to 2600 ATK and Breaker down to 1800 ATK. Furthermore, it deals that same amount of damage, leaving Weevil down to 3800 LPs and Yami down to 500 LPs and when Yami's turn ends, PB's effect will wipe out Yami's LPs.

However, Weevil decides to be nice and holds up the card to save Yugi with its back to Yugi but we see it's a Gokibore card. When Yami doesn't comply, Weevil tears up the card, leaving Yami very upset, especially once he learns it was all a joke. He has all the fuel he needs to unleash his rage on Weevil and uses Breaker's effect to destroy Insect Barrier, lowering its ATK to 1500. Furthermore, he attacks with PB, destroying AC and leaving Weevil down to 3700 LPs, then directly with Breaker, leaving Weevil down to 2200. Then, Yami activates Berserker Soul, which forces Yami to discard all cards in his hand to the Grave but letting any monster on his field with 1500 or less ATK attack for each Monster Card drawn. Yami draws more than enough monsters to bring Weevil's score to 0 and eventually Weevil's soul is captured but it takes Tea` to restrain Yami from further injury to Weevil.

In his lair, Dartz needs the soul of the Pharaoh in order to give the Great Leviathan the energy it needs to awaken. On board the train, Yami moves to Weevil and demands to know where Yugi is but Tea` reminds him that the Seal already claimed Weevil's soul but their concentration is thrown off as the train leaps into the air and lands down in the trees as a bearded man in native attire stands watching.
