Episode 121: Burying the Past (2)

Inside Virtual Domino City, Yugi and the gang take in what Noah-Mokuba is telling them and decide that they have no choice but to follow instructions. Next, Noah-Mokuba makes his presence known through a PA system to Gozaburo Kaiba's duel with Kaiba and Gozaburo is shocked that he could be betrayed after everything he did for Noah. Gozaburo and Kaiba realize there's only one way to settle this and Gozaburo decides to try and take Kaiba's body but is convinced to continue the duel and attacks with his Exodia Necross but Kaiba is ready with Negate Attack, leaving Gozaburo's attack negated and no more Battle Phase.Meanwhile, Yugi and the gang are racing towards the aforementioned exit but Yugi spots the remaining monsters Gozaburo summoned and decides to stay back with Joey and Duke while the others get to the exit. Back at the duel, Kaiba activates his Shrink card to halve EN's ATK to 1400. Next he tributes Vorse Raider for Luster Dragon (2400) in Attack Mode. (In its first US CG release, this was its name but because of the release of another monster in MFC with the same name, the original's name has since become "Luster Dragon #2".)

His attack leaves Gozaburo down to 900 and explains EN's weakness (which is much higher in the CG as it self-destructs if any of the Exodia pieces are taken out of your Graveyard). Since EN battled, it gains 1000 ATK to 3800 and Gozaburo attacks with it to start his turn, destroying LD and leaving Kaiba's score down to 2600 LPs. Once again, EN gains 1000 ATK to put its ATK up to 4800. Tea`, Serenity and Tristan arrive at the exit and are successfully returned to the real world with a slight hitch in that Tristan still has some lingering monkey noises but Tristan insists he's fine. With their Flame Swordsman and Dark Magician, Yugi, Joey and Duke arrive at the exit and both Duke and Joey are returned to the real world but Noah-Mokuba asks Yugi to find Mokuba and Kaiba and provides him with a shortcut. With just 4 minutes left, time is running out and Noah-Mokuba orders the group to head back to the blimp immediately. Back at the duel, Kaiba uses Pot of Greed, then sets 1 monster and 1 card face down to end his turn.

Gozaburo can't see how Kaiba can be so confident when EN has 4800 ATK and Kaiba won't summon a stronger monster. Yugi has arrived at Kaiba Corp and races inside as Gozaburo attacks, destroying Kaiba's hidden Ancient Lamp (1400) in Defense Mode and raising EN's ATK by another 1000 to 5800. Two minutes remain as Yugi is in the elevator and Kaiba has taken his turn by using Monster Reborn on his Ancient Lamp, then uses AL's effect to summon  La Jinn, the Mystical Genie of the Lamp (1800) in Attack Mode. Kaiba had been attacking EN's body instead of its soul and activates his face down Soul Demolition, forcing both players to remove a card from their opponent's Graveyards from play. While Gozaburo does nothing, Kaiba chooses to remove from play all 5 pieces of Exodia, at a cost of 500 Life Points per card leaving EN standing as regular Exodia with 1800 ATK and leaving his score down to 100. (The real card requires both players to remove a card from play at the same time.) Then he tributes his 2 monsters for Blue-Eyes White Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode. His attack destroys EN and wins him the duel. There's now only a minute left until the satellite strikes and Gozaburo becomes his monster form again and attacks but Kaiba is able to escape with Yugi's help.

However, with Gozaburo giving chase and the satellite's attack now underway, Kaiba and Yugi arrive at at a dead end and have no choice but to jump. A portal opens and the duo fall in, ending up in the real world with Mokuba still not awake. We find Mokuba and Noah in a sort-of dream where Noah explains he must attend to something but after some pleading, Kaiba is able to awaken him. The group races to the blimp with time running out and Noah has sealed all the exits to prevent Gozaburo's escape. As the blimp prepares for take off, Yugi, Kaiba and Mokuba are racing towards them. All three make it on board as an explosion follows them. Gozaburo makes one last attempt at capturing the group but Kaiba transforms the airship into a sleeker jet-like craft and escapes. With them finally out of the virtual world, it's time to resume the course for Kaiba Corp Island.
