Episode 120: Burying the Past (1)

Inside virtual Domino City, Kaiba mentally states his plan to take on Gozaburo Kaiba. As he arrives at Kaiba Corp, he figures Gozaburo is sitting in his own office. Meanwhile, Yugi and the gang need a plan and Joey suggests turning Noah upside-down and shaking him until he complies. While Duke agrees, they decide to find Noah to get out of the Virtual World, then warn others of Gozaburo's plan. Robot Monkey Tristan speaks but his words are jumbled with monkey noises so nothing understandable is said overall. Worse still, Gozaburo is using Chess as a way to summon monsters and brings out several Skull Knights and a few Command Knights Rock Ogre Grotto #1s and several Lizard Soldiers.

In response, Yugi summons Curse of Dragon and uses it to attack the army. Joey joins in with Axe Raider but as they fight, Noah is back in the real world with Mokuba's body being just his size. He gains access to Central Command and decides to reprogram the satellite on a collision course for Gozaburo's computer that houses the Virtual World. Inside Virtual Kaiba Corp, Kaiba arrives at his office where Gozaburo is waiting. Kaiba isn't interested in chatting with Gozaburo, nor is he scared by what's occurring on the big screen behind him. Gozaburo knows exactly how to settle their differences. A rematch between them but in Duel Monsters instead of Chess.

Kaiba agrees and while they go to their duel's location, Noah-Mokuba is almost done with the reprogramming when Dark Marik blasts into the hangar and uses his Millennium Rod to destroy the system that powers the building and releasing the Kaiba Corp airship from lockdown.Gozaburo and Kaiba have found their location at Kaiba's dueling arena from back when he dueled Yami in Episode 1. Gozaburo starts with Painful Choice but Kaiba already knows what it does, stating that Gozaburo picks 5 cards, then Kaiba picks one for Gozaburo to keep while the rest are sent to the Graveyard. To Kaiba's shock, Gozaburo picks the 5 pieces of Exodia (which from 9:45 to 9:50 into the US episode have gotten their usual changes) and remembers the loss to Yami's Exodia in this same arena.

Kaiba knows that not even Gozaburo is dumb enough to throw away those cards and must be up to something but chooses Right Arm of the Forbidden One for Gozaburo to keep in his hand. Next, Gozaburo sets 1 monster to end his turn. While Kaiba announces his turn, the back-up generators kick in, restoring power to Noah-Mokuba's location as Noah-Mokuba has set the timer for 30 minutes and doesn't really care about Dark Marik's intrusion. Yugi and the gang decide to bolt but are found by a Lizard Soldier so Yugi and Joey decide to stay back and summon Befomet (1400) and Gearfried the Iron Knight (1800) in Attack Mode. With just under 25 minutes left, Dark Marik enters and sees what's underway, loving it while Noah-Mokuba heads towards his helicopter that has been placed on the underwater fortress. However, he finds it difficult to rid his head of Mokuba's memories. He boards his chopper, still confident of what he's done until his computer announces that there are only 21 minutes left until the satellite's attack and regrets doing everything.

Yugi summons Black Luster Soldier (3000) in Attack Mode and uses it to help in the attacks against Gozaburo's monsters. Joey summons another Axe Raider and successfully takes out more monsters. Meanwhile, Noah-Mokuba races to stop the attack launch but he arrives too  late as Dark Marik had already destroyed the computers, making it impossible to stop the launch. Back at the duel, Kaiba sets 1 card and summons Vorse Raider (1900) in Attack Mode. He decides to attack, thinking that Gozaburo's monster is a bluff. His attack reveals and destroys Gozaburo's face down Right Arm of the Forbidden One (300) in Defense Mode and he's about to find out why it was placed on the field as Gozaburo plays Contract with Exodia, paying 2000 Life Points since all 5 Exodia pieces are in the Graveyard for Exodia Necross (1800) in Attack Mode. (The real Contract with Exodia doesn't cost anything to be activated.) He uses his attack on VR as a demonstration as it can't be destroyed in battle and gains 1000 ATK each time it battles, putting its ATK up to 2800. (The real card just gains 500 ATK during each of your Standby Phases, which is why there's no cost to activate CwE.) but Gozaburo still takes 100 points of Battle Damage, bringing his score down to 1900.

Kaiba draws and summons Spirit Ryu (1000) in Attack Mode, then activates Burst Breath to tribute it and destroy all monsters with less than 1000 DEF but it doesn't get rid of EN as Gozaburo explains that EN gets additional effects for each Exodia piece (unlike the real card and Burst Breath actually destroys monsters whose DEF equals the tributed monster's ATK). Kaiba realizes that EN is invincible and sets 1 card before switching his VR to Defense Mode and ending his turn. With 10 minutes left until the satellite attack, Noah-Mokuba works feebly while Yugi and Joey use their Dark Magician (2500) and Rocket Warrior (1500) in Attack Mode respectively to take out more monsters before Noah-Mokuba warns them of the inevitable. They all must escape or they'll be trapped forever and the satellite has now targeted the main computer harddrive!
