Episode 116: Brothers in Arms (3)

At the duel, Kaiba protests to leave Mokuba out of the duel but Noah taunts Kaiba by reminding him of what's at stake and Kaiba decides to end his turn. Noah knew Kaiba was too weak and could never run Kaiba Corp by giving in to his competition. He takes his turn by activating his Deck Master's greatest effect, sending all monsters in the ark back to the Graveyard and giving Noah 500 LPs for each one, raising his score by 6000 to 6400. Next he uses Dark Hole to destroy all monsters in play, putting his own Giant Soldier of Stone and Kaiba's Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon into the ark and of course making Kaiba's Different Dimension Dragon hide in another dimension. He figures he's done enough for one turn and Kaiba wonders if Mokuba's betrayal was because Kaiba was being to hard on him, then tries in vain to get Mokuba to remember Kaiba.

Yugi reminds Kaiba of when Joey was possessed by Marik and Yugi breaking through. Kaiba's hope may be in his deck and Kaiba plans to win the duel and get back his brother. His draw isn't what he wants so he puts DDD in Defense Mode to end his turn. Noah decides a change of scenery is in order and reverts to when mankind appeared, figuring Kaiba would like to see it one last time and will change it once he wins the duel. Next he summons Gradius (1200) in Attack Mode and equips it with Cyclon Laser, raising its ATK by 300 to 1500 and letting it inflict Piercing Damage to Kaiba when attacking a Defense Position monster. Plus, he equips it with Matter Leveler, giving Gradius 100 ATK each time it inflicts Battle Damage. He attacks DDD, leaving Kaiba down to 600 LPs (and apparently revealing that DDD was somehow switched to Attack Mode because it was earlier in Defense Mode). Kaiba's next draw is also not what he needs so he leaves DDD in Defense Mode and ends his turn.

After more ranting, Noah draws and plays Gradius' Option (not Spell as he says from 9:40 to 9:43 into the US episode and you can see the card at 9:48 into the US episode), giving him a second Gradius. Next he attacks with his original Gradius, leaving Kaiba down to 500 LPs and knowing that he can't take it much longer. He attacks with his second Gradius, leaving Kaiba down on the ground and down to 400 LPs. Kaiba needs Mokuba in order to defeat Noah! Yugi tries successfully to break Noah's spell on Mokuba and the struggle begins as Kaiba adds that Mokuba once saved Kaiba with the Blue-Eyes card he drew. A tear falls down Mokuba's face as he remembers what Kaiba is telling him. Kaiba draws, getting what he needs and uses his Deck Master's ability again to make Summoning Dragon-Type monsters need one tribute less than required and tributes DDD for Blue-Eyes White Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode. It all comes back to Mokuba and he ditches Noah. His attack destroys both Gradius' and leaves Noah down to 4900 LPs as destroying the original destroyed the Option.

It's not time to celebrate yet as Noah uses his Deck Master ability once again send all monsters in the ark to the Grave and give himself 500 for each, raising his score by 2500 to 7400. However, Kaiba activates Last Turn, forcing both players to choose a monster with all others going to the Graveyard and both of those monsters will battle with the winner of the duel being the controller whose monster survives. Kaiba chooses his Blue-Eyes while Noah chooses his Deck Master. They battle and Kaiba's monster wins but Shinato's Ark releases Shinato, King of a Higher Plane (3300) in Attack Mode which attacks and wins Noah the duel, proving that Noah is more superior than Kaiba and hopes his father was watching.

There's still one last task Noah wants to complete and merges with his Deck Master to turn both Kaiba and Mokuba to stone inches away from Kaiba and Mokuba reuniting one another. Yugi and his friends rush over in time to see Mokuba's statue shed a tear. Yugi has seen enough and becomes Yami, protesting that Noah is guilty of the same foul play he scolded the Big Five for and is not the winner of the duel. However, he offers a deal with Noah to let him continue where Kaiba left off, including with 400 Life Points. Noah ridicules the idea at first but would be crazy not to accept and adds that he'll turn all of Yugi's friends to stone when he wins and the duo are lifted into the sky by rocky slabs. The preparations and stakes are set and may the best duelist win!
