Episode 117: Noah's Final Threat (1)

At the duel, the gang back away, thinking Yami is crazy to go through with this duel and even Noah agrees but Yami protests that Kaiba was defeated from Noah's own deceit and jealousy and therefore cannot be considered superior. Noah obtains a different deck, then since he decides to let Yami go first, Yami summons Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts (1200) in Defense Mode. Noah doesn't draw anything good but still has his Deck Master and uses its attack to destroy Gazelle and cut Yami's score in half to 200 thanks to another of its abilities, then they're added to his own, bringing his score up to 7500. Yami draws and sets a monster to end his turn so Noah draws and summons Yata-Garasu (200) in Attack Mode. His attack with Shinato doesn't destroy Yami's face down Obnoxious Celtic Guard (1200) in Defense Mode thanks to OCG's effect. However, Noah activates Spring of Rebirth, giving himself 500 LPs when a monster returns to the hand, explaining the origin and effect of Spirit monsters before gaining 500 LPs due to YG returning to the hand by its effect, raising his score to 8100.

Yami draws 1 of Kaiba's monsters and sets it in Defense Mode for his turn. Noah summons Asura (Asura Priest in the CG) (1700) in Attack Mode, whose effect lets it attack all of Yami's monsters at once, destroying Yami's OCG and revealing Yami's hidden Cyber Jar (900) in Defense Mode, triggering its ability to destroy all monsters in play. However, Noah's Deck Master has another ability that allows it to escape destruction and return to Noah's side, forbidden to enter the field for the rest of the duel and separating itself from Noah. Nevertheless, Cyber Jar's other effect is triggered, forcing both players to draw 5 cards and Special Summon the Level 4 monsters they can so Yami brings out Sangan (600) and Gamma The Magnet Warrior (1800) both in Defense Mode but Noah doesn't have any. (The Japanese dialogue reveals that like their CG counterparts, they can't be Special Summoned.) Yami tributes his monsters for Dark Magician (2500) in Attack Mode, choosing to add Big Shield Gardna to his hand by Sangan's effect. His direct attack leaves Noah down to 5600 LPs.

Noah uses Next World, letting him Normal Summon a monster with the same Level as 1 of Yami's monsters and he chooses the Level 7 Yamata Dragon (2600) in Attack Mode. Next, he attacks with YD, destroying DM and leaving Yami down to 100 LPs and raising Noah's own score to 5700, then 6200 by YD and SoR's combined effects. Yami draws and activates Swords of Revealing Light, keeping Noah's attacks at bay for 3 turns but Noah has heard enough of Yami's friends' cheering but Yami summons Kuriboh (300) in Attack Mode and attacks directly, leaving Noah down to 5900. (I wouldn't have bothered and probably just put the monster in Defense Mode.) Noah sets 1 monster to end his turn so Yami draws, getting Dark Magician Girl but unable to play her without tributes with Kaiba's Deck Master ability since she's DARK and KSH's ability uses LIGHT monsters (not to mention she's a Spellcaster and not a Dragon) and instead plays Big Shield Gardna (" ") (2600) in Defense Mode and switches Kuriboh to Defense Mode and ends his turn. Noah sets another monster and 1 card to end his turn.

Yami draws but doesn't have anything to back up his confidence so he sets 1 card to end his turn. Joey gives Noah all the incentive to turn Duke into stone and decides to turn one of Yami's friends into stone each turn Yami doesn't win the duel. Yami snickers, saying that while he and his friends aged, Noah didn't age at all. However, Noah activates Pyro Clock of Destiny to move the turn count of SoRL forward by 1, making it end sooner.  Next he flips his hidden Otohime (0000) to Attack Mode, triggering its effect to change Yami's Kuriboh to Attack Mode. (and as shown at 19:51 into the US episode, the artwork isn't censored!) Next he tributes his monsters for Yamata Dragon in Attack Mode and attacks. It could destroy Yami's Kuriboh and be Noah's victory!
