Episode 115: Brothers in Arms (2)

At the duel, all the monsters sent to the Graveyard board Noah's Deck Master Shinato's Ark, where they remain for the rest of the duel and protests against Kaiba's claim that he has no monsters out. Kaiba summons Spear Dragon (1900) in Attack Monde and attacks but Noah uses his Deck Master's ability to bring back Vampire Lord (1500) in Defense Mode (why not Attack Mode, given that VL has more ATK than SD?), not enough to survive the attack and it's destroyed, leaving Noah down to 2800 LPs. Noah draws and the scenery around them changes to the Dinosaur era before Noah plays Giant Rex (2000) in Attack Mode and takes out SD but sparing Kaiba's score as SD was in Defense Mode by its effect.

Noah then adds more to his story about how his brain waves appeared to grow but was never able to attain his father's trust. Kaiba laughs, saying that Noah has proven what he himself thought all along, that Noah is a spoiled brat that was handed things. Kaiba is more fit to run Kaiba Corp than Noah will ever be and Gozaburo Kaiba always knew that deep down and we get another glimpse into Noah's past. Kaiba figures that Gozaburo knew that Noah would always be a spoiled brat regardless of the knowledge absorbed. Noah finds Kaiba's claims ridiculous but asks for Mokuba's input and Mokuba gets up to find Noah.

For his turn, Kaiba draws and uses Pot of Greed. Next, he uses his Deck Master's ability to bring out Different Dimension Dragon (1500) in Defense Mode, then sets 3 cards to end his turn. (Since we can see the card underneath the monster, we see it has 1400 ATK. The real card has 1200 ATK.) Noah takes his turn by activating Deepest Impact, destroying all monsters on the field and halving both players' LPs, leaving Noah down to 1400 and Kaiba down to 700. Next he uses Ice Age Panic to bring out Last Tusk Mammoth (800) in Attack Mode. However, Kaiba's DDD returns now thanks to its effect. (The real DDD isn't affected by Spell Cards so it wouldn't have been destroyed by Deepest Impact's effect.)

Yugi realizes that LTM's effect deals both players damage when it's destroyed but when it attacks, Kaiba activates Ring of Destruction and Ring of Defense, destroying LTM but dealing only Noah damage equal to its ATK, putting his score down to 600. Kaiba draws and switches his DDD to Attack Mode, then uses his Thunder Dragon's ability to discard itself and pick up 2 more copies of itself. Next he uses Polymerization for Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon (2800) in Attack Mode. Noah is ready and uses his Deck Master's ability to bring back Giant Soldier of Stone (2000) and Giant Rex in Defense Mode but that is what Kaiba wants as he activates Dragon's Rage, letting his Dragons inflict the difference in their ATK and their attack targets' DEF as Battle Damage to Noah. He uses DDD to take out GR and leave Noah down to 400. As he goes to attack with THTD, Mokuba stops him and stating that in order to win, Kaiba must go through him instead of Noah. Kaiba can either stop his attack or continue on and risk Mokuba's life but either way, it'll impact the rest of Kaiba's life!
