Episode 45: Legendary Heroes (3) | |||
The nearby villagers watch in awe as the Ancient Flying Machine emerges from the rocks. Ero decides to come along and Joey calls dibs on driving (even though despite being similar to ships' steering he has no idea whether or not its internal mechanism is different). The group encounter the swarm of Duel Monsters and summon Harpie Lady, Giltia the Knight and Dark Magician respectively to join them and succeed in taking out monsters but Ero takes a blow for the team and so does their ship. Finally, Yugi uses Swords of Revealing Light to keep the army at bay but it's too late for Ero as she fades away, giving Yugi reason to become Yami. The AFM reaches the barricade and slowly punches through. They reach the Castle of Dark Illusions and encounter a monster version of Salamandra, which sets one of the AFM's wings partially ablaze before Harpie Lady destroys it. Much like Ero, the AFM cannot continue on and plummets to the ground while Yami brings out Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress (" ") to save them. At the now lava pit, Kaiba awakens to see his brother here to save the day but Witty Phantom doesn't buy it. Mokuba summons Swordstalker to free Kaiba, whom in turn summons Blue-Eyes White Dragon to take out WP. More Armed Ninjas strike with Dragon Capture Jars but Kaiba is prepared by playing Trap Master and tears apart the AN army with his first and now freed 2nd BEWD. When asked how he got here, Mokuba admits he got Yugi Muto and his friends to help and he knows how Kaiba feels about Yugi himself, saying anyone else would've been better (not in the cartoon world where only main characters can save the day, Kaiba). While they work on a way out, Yugi and his friends encounter a swarm of Killer Needles and take them out with Yami's Mirror Force card but not before a Man-Eater Bug destroys Giltia. As a result, the Cocoons of Evolution nearby awaken and release Great Moths so Yami summons Catapult Turtle and Kuriboh, then uses Multiply to destroy the Great Moths. Inside their room, Pegasus' associates decide that now's the time the game be taken to its final level and head out. Back wherever they are, Yami and gang hear the cry of BEWD and discover Kaiba and Mokuba are free. However, the five men decide to summon the Mythic Dragon themselves ("Five-Headed Dragon" in the CG and strangely, either by error or otherwise, its DEF is 4000). Mai tries to bring out Harpie Lady Sisters but what the five call the Dragon's Seal denies any monster outside Dragons from being able to be summoned so the gang calls out Red-Eyes B Dragon, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Harpie's Pet Dragon and Curse of Dragon, confident they'll triumph but Mokuba has no Dragon to attack or defend with and the five target him but Joey blocks with his REBD, wiping out his LPs and his existence in the Virtual World. Yami uses Black Luster Ritual to bring out Black Luster Soldier, which can't attack since it isn't Dragon-Type so Mai defends it but like Joey, loses and is removed as well. Yami urges Kaiba to bring out his BEUD but Mokuba points out that Kaiba himself is their next target and intercepts, disappearing as well. After some major urging, Kaiba uses Polymerization for Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dagon (4500) in Attack Mode. Yami adds to that with his own Poly and they bring out Dragon Master Knight (5000) in Attack Mode (which also has 4000 DEF strangely). It gains ATK equal to the ATK of all Dragons, on the field or in the Grave for a total of 9000. (The real card only gains 500 ATK for each Dragon-Type monster you control other than itself.) Their attack succeeds and MD/FHD falls, causing them to fall as well as the area they stand on disappears. They awaken to a cheering crowd but can't accept it for they've lost people. To Yami's surprise, Edina is Mystical Elf and brings their lost friends back. The exit portal appears and before everyone leaves, Kaiba acknowledges that he and Yami made a good team but warns not to make it more permanent. Inside the pod room, Pegasus' goons break in but are too late as Yugi and crew return. Mokuba warns that with nothing to guard, the goons are going to get punished and the goons run away in fear. After a quick goodbye to Mokuba, Joey needs to use the restroom. |
