Episode 19: Double Trouble Duel (1)

Trapped inside the cave, the group realizes their efforts are fruitless and figure another way out is available but Bakura's Millennium Ring gets them moving in another direction. Pegasus is watching everything and decides to see how Mokuba is doing, discovering that it's another day in his sad life. Mokuba wants Kaiba to come rescue him like the day he came back during their childhood. He wants him to come soon. Meanwhile, Bakura's ring continues leading the way, eventually to a dueling arena where two (likely) duelists speak in rhymes and quickly make themselves known in name and appearance. They explain that they're eliminators hired by Pegasus and are known as the Paradox Brothers. Dox begins with Labyrinth Wall in Attack Mode, but it becomes a maze instead of a monster.

Meanwhile, Kaiba is marching through the forest, thinking that Pegasus will soon find out that he stops at nothing to rescue Mokuba. Back at the duel, Joey thinks he has the riddle figured out but Yugi, now Yu-Gi-Oh, says it's not quite solved, given the key differences and the fact that both Para and Dox are likely liars. He suggests they duel now and solve the riddle later. He plays Beaver Warrior (1200) in Attack Mode and has it advance 4 spaces, the same number as the number of stars in its Level. Para uses Polymerization to place Shadow Ghoul in the Labyrinth Wall walls to bring out Wall Shadow (1600) in Attack Mode and takes out BW, leaving Yu-Gi-Oh's score down to 1600. Joey brings out Axe Raider (1700) in Attack Mode and sets 1 card, refusing to have his monster enter the maze.

Dox sets 1 card face down (At 14:32 into the episode, we see it's Jirai Gumo in the US but its stats are different yet it's a Trap Card at this point in the Japanese). Next he summons Labyrinth Tank (2400) in Attack Mode and moves it 7 spaces into the maze. (The real card is a Fusion Monster but at 17:05 into both versions of the episode it's a Normnal Monster.) Yu-Gi-Oh summons Celtic Guardian (1400) in Attack Mode and orders it to also move into the maze where WS attacks but is stopped by Joey's face down Kunai with Chain Trap Card, raising CG's ATK by 500 to 1900. WS is destroyed, leaving  Para down to 1700 LPs. Pegasus applauds Yu-Gi-Oh's team for making it through round 1 but Croquet enters with news already known about Kaiba. Why is the head of security always the last to find out? He assures Croquet that they have the bait and Kaiba will come. Still down in his cell, Mokuba questions Kaiba's lack of arrival, remembering another snippet of his past. Sure enough, Kaiba is on the way and Pegasus will live to regret standing in his way!
