Episode 20: Double Trouble Duel (2)

Outside, Kaiba continues marching towards Pegasus' castle when Kemo steps in and gets easily overcome. At the duel, Joey draws, deciding to bring out Flame Swordsman (1800) in Attack Mode and also gives his Axe Raider the boost of 500 ATK to 2200 thanks to Kunai with Chain. (I thought it had been equipped to Celtic Guardian, whose ATK was also raised by the same card?). Both monsters advance into the maze. Dox moves his Labyrinth Tank forward another 7 spaces. Yu-Gi-Oh plays Dark Magician (2500) in Attack Mode and has it do an impressive move to join the other monsters they have. Para draws and after their usual celebratory flips, plays Magical Labyrinth, changing the maze's layout and separating Yu-Gi-Oh and Joeys' monsters from one another. Joey draws and maneuvers his monsters towards the exit but Axe Raider steps on the spider graphic, which isn't present on the Japanese version of the episode during this scene and brings out the Jirai Gumo monster that reduces Axe Raider down by 500 to its original ATK, destroying it and leaving Joey down to 1600 LPs.

Dox moves his LT 7 more spaces, then sets a monster, warning them about what it may hold. Oops! At 8:05 into the episode, Labyrinth Tank's card isn't edited for US! Yu-Gi-Oh draws, smiling and playing Mystic Box, eventually destroying Jirai Gumo. (The real card gives your selected monster to your opponent.) Next, Yu-Gi-Oh takes out LT, leaving Dox down to 1900 LPs. Para sets his Sanga of the Thunder face down with a grin. Joey moves Flame Swordsman to within a few spaces of the maze exit. Dox draws and sets Suijin. Next he reveals his hidden monster, Dungeon Worm (1800) in Attack Mode and strengthens it with Invigoration, giving it 400 ATK to 2200. It takes out Yu-Gi-Oh's Celtic Guardian (even though it's Joey who says it at around 12:25 into the episode), leaving Yu-Gi-Oh down to 800. Yu-Gi-Oh activates Magical Hats to hide his and Joeys' monsters. However, Para isn't so convinced, playing Monster Tamer (1800) in Attack Mode, not only giving DW 600 more ATK but allowing Para to control the monster during his turn. (If that's true, why is it a Normal Monster? The real Monster Tamer has 1600 DEF.)

Nevertheless, Para's attack is on an empty hat but next turn the odds will be against Yu-Gi-Oh and Joey. Joey, claiming to know what he's doing, moves his FS out from the hat and equips him with Salamandra, raising its ATK by 700 to 2500. His attack takes out DW with its weakness to fire, leaving Dox down to 1600. Dox draws and sets Kazejin, then all three monsters are sent to the Grave as Yu-Gi-Oh sees it's in Exodia's class. Appearing before Yu-Gi-Oh and Joey is Gate Guardian as 3 monsters with 2600 ATK, 2500 ATK and 2400 ATK respectively. (The real card is a Level 11 monster with an ATK of 3750 and a DEF of 3400). Para and Dox gloat about their monster (which isn't much, given that it's three monsters that are weaker than Kaiba's BEWD) but it's countered by a speech from Yu-Gi-Oh and Joey, whom dare the brothers to take their turn.

Down below, Kaiba wanted Kemo to take him to Mokuba not a tour and is told about the honeycomb design of the tunnels. Without his guidance, Kaiba could get lost down here for years. Kemo claims to be bigger and stronger than Kaiba but gets a threat about being dropped where he stands and obliges to help reunite Mokuba with him. Of course, he stops with no Mokuba in sight and instead activates the alarm, leaving Kaiba to dart off and find his brother. Mokuba recalls another memory before Kaiba's call is heard. Back at the duel, with nothing that can beat their Gate Guardian, Yu-Gi-Oh just sets 2 cards. Para attacks with GG and both Yu-Gi-Oh and Joey are going down big!
