Episode 54: A Score to Settle (1) | |||
Still leaving the site where Greiger was freed from being a Dark Signer, the
group arrive at Kalin's tower and Kalin and Yusei converge as they remember
things differently about their time as The Enforcers. Nevertheless, the
duo decide to prepare for their rematch while the others park a few miles away,
unable to see what's about to happen. With the duel preparations complete, they
race to the first corner to decide the first turn and Kalin rams Yusei's Duel
Runner to get the upper hand (and speaking of hand, his at 7:32 contains Chacu
Challhua, which isn't his Earthbound Immortal or even one of his cards). Kalin
draws and summons Infernity Necromancer (2000) in
Defense Mode, leaving Yusei to believe that he'll be facing the same handless
combo as before, and sets 1 card to end his turn. Yusei draws, recalling the
events of the past once more (and at 9:22, you can see Blackwing - Fane the
Steel Chain on Yuse's Duel Disk when we know he had only Speed Warrior out and
Fane isn't one of Yusei's cards at all). Back in the present, Yusei summons Max Warrior (1800) in Attack Mode and attacks (and at 12:11 into the US episode, its card is shown as a Level 8 monster). As a result, its ATK, DEF and Level are halved to 900, 400 and 2 respectively. It's a small price to pay considering what he risked by remaining Kalin's friend in the past. Sector Security arrives and one suspect summons Skull Knight #2 (1000) in Attack Mode only to be attacked by Security's Assault Dog (1200) in Attack Mode. Meanwhile, at a casual duel, Crow plays Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind (1300) in Attack Mode before learning of Kalin's latest scheme and informs Jack and Yusei about it. The Enforcers regroup as Kalin is found and they prepare for a duel but know that Kalin has gone too far. In the present once more, Yusei sets 3 cards to end his turn, knowing that he's learned his lesson. Kalin draws and sets 1 card before activating Limit Impulse to discard 2 cards and Special Summon 2 Tokens to his field. Then, he tributes the Tokens for Dark Tuner Nightmare Hand (0000) in Attack Mode, whom in turn lets him play a Level 2 monster from his hand such as Infernity Dwarf (800) in Attack Mode. Then he uses DTNH and ID as Dark Synchro Material for One Hundred Eyed Dragon (Hundred Eyes Dragon in the CG) (3000) in Attack Mode. His attack destroys the weakened MW and leaves Yusei down to 1900 LPs. However, Yusei is ready with Revival Ticket, letting him destroy 1 card on his field (Limiter Overload), restore his LPs and bring back any monsters destroyed this turn, reviving Max Warrior, then Special Summoning Speed Warrior (900) in Attack Mode by Limiter Breaker's (Limiter Overload in the CG) effect. (Oops, at 20:27 into the US episode, Speed Warrior's ATK is in a Lifepoint graphic!) Now, Yusei activates Card of Sacrifice to draw twice since his monsters' combined ATK is less than Kalin's monster but cannot change his monsters' modes or Summon this turn. He sets 2 cards to end his turn (without saying so) so Kalin draws and sets 1 card before activating OHED's effect to gain the effect of Infernity Necromancer and summon Infernity Archfiend (1800) in Attack Mode. This is what Yusei wanted as Yusei activates Slip Summon to Special Summon Ghost Gardna (1900) in Defense Mode. Kalin attacks Speed Warrior but Yusei uses GG's effect to make it the attack target but Kalin uses OHED's effect again to gain ID's effect and inflict the difference in its ATK and GG's DEF to Yusei, leaving Yusei down to 2900 LPs. (The real card can only use this effect once per turn.) It's time to get serious and settle things once and for all! |
