Episode 6: The Facility (1)

At the facility, Yusei's info is reviewed before Yusei gets a new mark on his cheek (which is much more painful in the Japanese). A few months in the the facility should be enough to let Yusei realize his decision to duel Jack was wrong. An old guy tries to get Yusei's attention but realizes that Yusei is neither much of a talker nor a hand shaker but asks about the duel that everyone saw in which the red dragon emerged. Jack is having a nightmare about said duel but can't remember it at all and continues moving on despite what Goodwin told Mina Jack should be doing.

The professor, now revealed as Zigzix, explains what happened and Goodwin realizes that the red dragon's power is greater than they ever imagined. Meanwhile, the group arrives at the facility, where they are identified and shown around the place a bit as well as where they'll be staying. Once inside their new room, Yanagi shows Yusei his illegal cards from all over the world and he's been there long enough to figure out how to get his entire deck there. As Lazar, Goodwin and Zigzix resume their discussion of the duel, Jack enters, asking if Zigzix and Lazar recorded the duel and learns that he's lucky the duel didn't go on the news but is in possession of a mark from the Crimson Dragon.Furthermore, Goodwin learns that Yusei has a mark of the CD as well but Jack finally comes to grips with his loss to Yusei.

When he learns where Yusei is now, Jack declares that he's going there but in the facility, Yusei and Yanagi are brought to a cell mate's duel stadium. Under his rule, everyone new duels on their first day and get respect if they do well. Yanagi already respects him, revealing that he's Bolt Tanner and wants his autograph. Yanagi is Tanner's first opponent and says that he has his whole deck there ready to duel with but Tanner says it won't be enough but if Yanagi wins, he's in charge. The duel gets underway as Yanagi draws and, after a brief history lesson, plays Crystal Skull (0000) in Defense Mode, taking 1000 damage by its effect, leaving his score down to 3000, causing ridicule amongst the watching crowd but Yanagi isn't intimidated until Tanner draws and uses Cost Down to discard 1 card and lower the Level of all monsters in his hand by 2 this turn. Therefore, he plays the now Level 4 Ushi Oni (2150) in Attack Mode and takes out CS, much to Yanagi's disapproval.

Yanagi draws and is VERY pleased with the result as he plays Ashoka Pillar (2200) in Defense Mode, not hesitating to explain where the relic came from. Next he equips it with Spirit Mask and Tanner isn't interested in a lecture on ancient history as he's flunked the program a dozen times. Tanner draws and tributes UO for Giant Ushi Oni (2600) in Attack Mode and takes out AP, remembering that AP deals its owner 2000 damage when it's destroyed, leaving Yanagi down to 1000 LPs. Furthermore, SM also went and Yanagi has to discard the last card in his hand to the Graveyard. Worse still, since GUO destroyed a monster in battle, it can attack again and does so, winning Tanner the duel and scattering Yanagi's cards on the floor. He approaches Yanagi and shows no respect to the Crystal Skull card so Yusei puts his foot out and causes Tanner to drop to the floor. Yusei has earned himself a duel and Yanagi is delighted that Yusei is willing to use the Treasure Deck to show Tanner what respect really means.
