Episode 163: Self Destruction

Yami and the gang awaken to find themselves rescued by Ironheart, his daughter Chris and their dog Sky. Ironheart is relivef to see Yami up and hands him back The Eye of Timaeus but Yami doesn't feel worthy of having it back after what he'd done. The only thing Yami believes he can do is to revisit the area where lost souls dwell but the path proves to be very treacherous. Finally they arrive and at first Yugi is surrpised to see Yami and more relaxed but his tone quickly changes and Yami ends up facing him in a Duel. Yami starts off strong but discovers he and Yugi have the same hands so Yugi opts to start over with a fresh hand thanks to a Spell Card. Next, he does what Yami had done down to the last card, including activating the dreaded Field Spell that caused so many problems. Yami tries to defend himself but ends up on the brink of defeat anyway until he counters with a Trap Card at the last second. Yami wins and is able to free Yugi from the evil controlling him but it's bittersweet as Yugi disappears forever.
