Episode 78: Friends 'Til the End (4)

Little time remains for Joey's turn and he finally decides to play it, forcing Yugi to make a counter of his own. Joey breaks free on his own terms and now it's Yugi's turn to make a decision with his Trap Card's effect. Eventually, he chooses to take the damage, opening up Joey's key but after Joey takes his own score down to 0 by his Spell Card's bonus effect, he can't make it in time to unlock Yugi from his shackles and both go underwater. Serenity gathers courage to not only remove her bandages but also dive into save Joey after Joey saves Yugi. Joey has deep regrets and has to be reminded that nothing he did was from his on free will. Now they can focus on the tournament finals, which may be Marik's next target.

Episode Cards
DUEL 1: Yugi: Mystical Refpanel
               Joey/Marik: Meteor of Destruction
Deviations from the TCG
1. Players started with only 4000 LP.
2. Meteor of Destruction had different artwork and dealt the opponent 1000 damage at a cost of 500 LP. It also could deal the other player 1000 damage through another unspecified method.

3. Mystical Refpanel could redirect a card's effect to either player.
Errors
1. The explosives on the crate over Tea`'s head were removed in the Dub but the crate still explodes in the water.

2. In the Japanese version, Joey was slapped by Mai but while this scene was removed in the Dub, the Dub still has Joey with a hand on his face where he'd been slapped.

3. The Dub fails to mention Meteor of Destruction's activation cost of 500 LP.
