Episode 71: Double Duel (2)

While the Duel had started off relatively evenly, Lumis ups his game by locking down Yami's monster completely, then taking care of any attempts for Yami and Kaiba to bring out their God Cards. However, Kaiba is ready and intends to destroy Shining Abyss with a powerful Trap Card of his own. Unfortunately, Lumis finds the ultimate counter and Umbra counters Kaiba's defensive move too. With Kaiba's LP down to nearly half, Umbra decides to finish Kaiba off but Yami intervenes with a classic combo. This combo doesn't last long as there's little Lumis and Umbra need to do to take down both defenses but bring out a powerful Ritual Monster anyway. Kaiba gets the last laugh, however as Yami resets everyone's hand and allows Kaiba to revive a monster he wasn't able to Summon previously.

Deviations from the TCG

1. Players started with only 4000 LP.
2. Ring of Destruction dealt the destroyed monster's original ATK to both players.
3. Ring of Defense only saved 1 player from effect damage by a Trap Card's effect.
4. Multiply created an endless number of Kuriboh on its controller's field.
5. Mask of Dispel also negated the selected Spell Card's effect.
6. Mask of Restrict only prevented the opponent from Tributing monsters.
7. Card Destruction had different artwork.
