The New Challengers (Page 1)

NECH-EN019
Fluffal Cat
EARTH / Fairy / Level 1 / ATK 700 / DEF 300
If this card is sent to the Graveyard as a Fusion Material for a Fusion Summon: You can target 1 "Polymerization" in your Graveyard; add it to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Fluffal Cat" once per turn.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Although it requires more, Fusion Recovery is the better option as you also get a monster back that you can use to defend your Life Points whereas this guy just gets back a card you'll likely have no use for at the time and is overall a kitten with those stats.
NECH-EN018
Fluffal Owl
EARTH / Fairy / Level 2 / ATK 1000 / DEF 1000
When this card is Normal or Special Summoned from the hand: You can add 1 "Polymerization" from your Deck to your hand. You can pay 500 LP: Fusion Summon 1 "Frightfur" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or your side of the field as Fusion Materials. You can only use 1 "Fluffal Owl" effect per turn, and only once that turn.
RARE
Rating: 1
Comments: You'd be better off using Polymerization for your Fusion Summoning method as you already have the materials present if you were to use this guy's effect and it wouldn't cost you any Life Points, nor risk them by playing this guy at all.
NECH-EN017
Fluffal Dog
EARTH / Fairy / Level 4 / ATK 1700 / DEF 1000
When this card is Normal or Special Summoned from the hand: You can add 1 "Edge Imp Sabres" or 1 "Fluffal" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Fluffal Dog". You can only use this effect of "Fluffal Dog" once per turn.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: You get to search out another of its friends or the decent Edge Imp Sabres whether it's Normal or Special Summoned but unless you have something else planned, it'll be for nothing.
NECH-EN016
Fluffal Bear
EARTH / Fairy / Level 3 / ATK 1200 / DEF 800
You can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard; Set 1 "Toy Vendor" directly from your Deck to your Spell & Trap Zone. You can Tribute this card, then target 1 "Polymerization" in your Graveyard; add it to your hand. You can only use 1 "Fluffal Bear" effect per turn, and only once that turn.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Your best option is to trade it for a used or discarded Polymerization as the other effect is just giving your opponent a free insight at your face-down card.
NECH-EN015
Fluffal Leo
EARTH / Fairy / Level 4 / ATK 1600 / DEF 1200
When this card declares an attack: It gains 500 ATK until the end of the Battle Phase.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It doesn't lose ATK if it gets attacked unlike Steamroid but the ATK boost only lasts until the end of the Battle Phase.
NECH-EN014
Edge Imp Sabres
DARK / Fiend / Level 3 / ATK 1200 / DEF 800
If this card is in the Graveyard: You can place 1 card from your hand on the top of the Deck; Special Summon this card in Defense Position. You can only use this effect of "Edge Imp Sabres" once per turn.
SUPER RARE
Rating: 3
Comments: It's essentially a free Tribute each turn as it only costs you 1 card from your hand but you never really lose it as it's right there on top for next turn and you can control more than one copy!
NECH-EN013
Superheavy Samurai Soulbang Cannon
EARTH / Machine / Level 3 / ATK 1000 / DEF 1000
You can target 1 "Superheavy Samurai" monster you control; equip this monster from your hand or your side of the field to that target. It gains 1000 DEF. During either player's Battle Phase, when your opponent activates a card effect while you control a Defense Position "Superheavy Samurai" monster: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it, then destroy as many monsters on the field as possible (min. 1), and if you do, both players take 1000 damage.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Its host gains 1000 DEF and you can use its other effect to get rid of threats but it hurts both players with 1000 damage.
NECH-EN012
Superheavy Samurai Soulbreaker Armor
EARTH / Machine / Level 1 / ATK 0 / DEF 500
You can target 1 "Superheavy Samurai" monster you control; equip this monster from your hand or your side of the field to that target. It loses 1000 DEF, also it cannot be destroyed by battle. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can banish all "Superheavy Samurai Soulbreaker Armors" from your Graveyard, then target 1 "Superheavy Samurai" monster on the field whose current DEF is lower than its original DEF; inflict damage to your opponent equal to the difference between its current and original DEF.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: It's the weakest Superheavy Samurai to date as though it ties with Blue Brawler in terms of ATK, its DEF is nothing impressive and it weakens its host by 1000 points just to prevent its destruction in battle and has to be in your Graveyard, where it takes its copies with it just for some extra damage that won't likely be much.
NECH-EN011
Superheavy Samurai Soulshield Wall
EARTH / Machine / Level 3 / ATK 1200 / DEF 1200
You can target 1 "Superheavy Samurai" monster you control; equip this monster from your hand or your side of the field to that target. It gains 1200 DEF. When the monster equipped with this card by this effect is targeted for an attack: You can send this Equip Card to the Graveyard; negate that attack, but the equipped monster's DEF becomes 0.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It gives any of its friends a pretty decent boost, but takes away all of that monster's DEF if you take this guy off that monster's back.
NECH-EN010
Superheavy Samurai Soulfire Suit
FIRE / Machine / Level 2 / ATK 800 / DEF 800
You can target 1 "Superheavy Samurai" monster you control; equip this monster from your hand or your side of the field to that target. Its Level becomes 5. During either player's turn: You can discard this card, then target 1 Defense Position "Superheavy Samurai" monster you control; until the end of this turn, it loses 800 DEF, but cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: You can bring out a Rank 5 Xyz Monster if you equip two of these guys to two of its friends and though it can also protect one of its friends from destruction, it lowers that monster's DEF.
NECH-EN009
Superheavy Samurai Scales
EARTH / Machine / Level 4 / ATK 800 / DEF 1800
If your opponent controls 2 or more monsters and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target 1 Level 4 or lower "Superheavy Samurai" monster in your Graveyard, except "Superheavy Samurai Scales"; Special Summon it in Defense Position. You can only use this effect of "Superheavy Samurai Scales" once per turn.
RARE
Rating: 2
Comments: It brings another of its lower ranking friends to join it and has a built-in Cyber Dragon/Fiend Megacyber hybrid effect, which aren't all that bad but it'd be better if it weren't restricted to Level 4 or lower monsters.
NECH-EN008
Superheavy Samurai Kabuto
EARTH / Machine / Level 4 / ATK 1000 / DEF 2000
If your opponent Special Summons a monster(s): You can change as many Attack Position "Superheavy Samurai" monsters you control as possible to Defense Position, and if you do, the ones changed by this effect gain 500 DEF until the end of this turn.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Its DEF makes for good ATK with Big Ben Kei's effect but outside of that, this guy asks for your opponent to Special Summon in order to do anything remotely useful.
NECH-EN007
Shopina the Melodious Maestra
LIGHT / Fairy / Level 7 / ATK 2300 / DEF 1700
Once per turn: You can target 1 LIGHT Fairy-Type monster in your Graveyard; add it to your hand. You cannot activate non-LIGHT monster effects during the turn you activate this effect.
RARE
Rating: 2
Comments: It's a fairly weak Level 7 but can retrieve any LIGHT Fairy in your Graveyard but outside a LIGHT Fairy Deck, it has no uses.
NECH-EN006
Elegy the Melodious Diva
LIGHT / Fairy / Level 5 / ATK 2000 / DEF 1200
Special Summoned "Melodious" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects. If this card was Special Summoned, all Fairy-Type monsters you control gain 300 ATK.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: You'll want to Special Summon it by its effect as it's too weak to be worth Tribute Summoning and is included in its effects.
NECH-EN005
Serenade the Melodious Diva
LIGHT / Fairy / Level 4 / ATK 400 / DEF 1900
This card can be treated as 2 Tributes for the Tribute Summon of a Fairy-Type monster. After this card is Special Summoned to your side of the field, you can Normal Summon 1 "Melodious" monster during your Main Phase this turn, in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.)
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Helps bring out any high level Fairy-Type monster and gives you extra Normal Summons but only for Melodious monsters and doesn't have much else aside from 1900 DEF and must be Special Summoned to activate the other effect.
NECH-EN004
Canon the Melodious Diva
LIGHT / Fairy / Level 4 / ATK 1400 / DEF 2000
If you control a "Melodious" monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). You can only Special Summon "Canon the Melodious Diva" once per turn this way. Once per turn: You can target 1 "Melodious" monster you control; change its battle position.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It doesn't care if its the Melodious monster you control so you can quickly get 2 copies out but aside from that, the 2000 DEF is the best it has to offer.
NECH-EN003
Block Spider
EARTH / Insect / Level 1 / ATK 0 / DEF 100
Your opponent cannot target Insect-Type monsters for attacks, except this one. If this card is Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Block Spider" from your Deck. You can only use this effect of "Block Spider" once per turn.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Since its effect only works when Special Summoned, you can have enough for a high Level Tribute Summon or low rank Xyz Summon but that's still pretty limited and if the effect is stopped, it offers little protection.
NECH-EN002
Performapal Trampolynx
EARTH / Beast-Type Pendulum / Level 2 / ATK 300 / DEF 300 / Scale 4
When you Pendulum Summon a monster(s): You can target 1 card in either player's Pendulum Zone; return that target to the hand. You can only use this effect of "Performapal Trampolynx" once per turn.
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 card in either player's Pendulum Zone; return it to the hand.
RARE
Rating: 3
Comments: Its scale is low enough to also work with the Sneak Preview card or Flash Knight or if either player has an unwanted Pendulum Monster in their Pendulum Zone, you can get it off the field for a bit.
NECH-EN001
Performapal Cheermole
EARTH / Beast-Type Pendulum / Level 2 / ATK 600 / DEF 1000 / Scale 5
All Pendulum Monsters you control gain 300 ATK.
You can target 1 monster whose current ATK is different from its original ATK; apply the appropriate effect. You can only use this effect of "Performapal Cheermole" once per turn.
● If that monster's current ATK is higher than its original ATK, it gains 1000 ATK.
● If that monster's current ATK is lower than its original ATK, it loses 1000 ATK.
RARE
Rating: 3
Comments: Although not as versatile as Lancephorhynchus, it still has a high enough scale to make worthwhile if the other end is low enough and can help out your monsters.
NECH-EN000
Lancephorhynchus
WIND / Dinosaur-Type Pendulum / Level 6 / ATK 2500 / DEF 800 / Scale 7
If a Normal Monster you control attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent.
This primordial species survived extinction by evolving an offensive lance than can pierce anything, although its diet still consists mainly of fish.
SUPER RARE
Rating: 4
Comments: A standalone beatstick or a high scale Spell Card for Pendulum Summoning! On top of that, it allows Normal Monsters to inflict extra hurt on your opponent if they try to defend!
