Lake Shawnee

An abandoned amusement park in West Virginia, Lake Shawnee has a brutal past including two children that were inadvertently killed. Its history goes as far back as to where it was home to a Native American tribe. In the 1920s, it was purchased and converted into an amusement park but it was still believed to be cursed. As a result, it was closed in 1966 after the two children were killed but one can still sometimes see a swing moving on its own without any wind. It was re-opened for one week in late October 2013.
