2019 Advent Calendar
Performapal Kuribohble
DARK / Fiend / Level 1 / ATK 300 / DEF 200
When an opponent's monster declares a direct attack: You can Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, change the attack target to this card, and proceed to damage calculation. If you would take battle damage from that battle, you gain that much LP instead.
Rating: 2
Comments: Although it's as weak as Kuribohrn, it at least gives you LP instead of taking a likely large amount of Battle Damage. Still, it's highly dependent on direct attacks and being able to be Special Summoned.
LIGHT / Fiend / Level 1 / ATK 300 / DEF 200
At the end of the Battle Phase: You can discard this card, then target 1 monster in your GY that was destroyed by battle and sent there this turn; Special Summon it. When an opponent's monster declares an attack: You can banish this card from your GY, then target any number of "Kuriboh" monsters in your GY; Special Summon them.
Rating: 1
Comments: Both effects make it pretty desperate to use as a Duelist considering they're quite restrained and we have better cards like Monster Reborn to take care of our needs.
ARC-V Manga Volume 6
Timelord Progenitor Vorpgate
DARK / Fairy-Type Synchro / Level 10 / ATK 0 / DEF 0
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
Cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. You take no battle damage from attacks involving this card. At the end of the Damage Step, if this card that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck battled: You can activate this effect; banish all monsters your opponent controls, also, for the rest of this turn, halve the battle damage your opponent takes. Once per turn, during the End Phase, if this effect was activated this turn: Special Summon as many monsters as possible that you banished with this card's effect, to your opponent's field.
Rating: 2
Comments: I'd like to give it more credit but the last line of text kinda prevents me from doing that as it renders your efforts practically moot so unless you win that turn, you won't win next turn.
2019 Gold Sarcophagus Tin (Continued)
Dark Ruler No More
Normal Spell
Negate the effects of all face-up monsters your opponent currently controls, until the end of this turn, also, for the rest of this turn after this card resolves, your opponent takes no damage. Neither player can activate monster effects in response to this card's activation.
Comments: It only stops 1/3 of effects and only for 1 turn. Plus, it doesn't stop your opponent from responding with other effects and they don't take any damage.
Nibiru, the Primal Being
LIGHT / Rock / Level 11 / ATK 3000 / DEF 600
During the Main Phase, if your opponent Normal or Special Summoned 5 or more monsters this turn (Quick Effect): You can Tribute as many face-up monsters on the field as possible, and if you do, Special Summon this card from your hand, then Special Summon 1 "Primal Being Token" (Rock/LIGHT/Level 11/ATK ?/DEF ?) to your opponent's field. (This Token's ATK/DEF become the combined original ATK/DEF of the Tributed monsters.) You can only use this effect of "Nibiru, the Primal Being" once per turn.
Rating: 3
Comments: Not much of a point in wasting opponents monsters if they get a free Token that takes on their lost monsters' ATK and DEF anyway. Besides, it's pretty situational for an effect anyway. Still, apart from that, at least it has no summoning requirements and 3000 ATK, making it an ideal Beastick that works with Honest.
Dimension Shifter
DARK / Spellcaster / Level 6 / ATK 1200 / DEF 2200
If you have no cards in your GY (Quick Effect): You can send this card from your hand to the GY; until the end of the next turn, any card sent to the GY is banished instead.
Comments: Its only effect is to temporarily copy Macro Cosmos but we still have Dimensional Fissure and other monsters that can do so much better.
Neo Kaiser Glider
LIGHT / Dragon / Level 6 / ATK 2400 / DEF 2200
You can discard this card and 1 monster, then target 1 Dragon Normal Monster in your GY; Special Summon it. If this card is sent to the GY: You can make all monsters your opponent currently controls lose 500 ATK until the end of this turn. You can only use each effect of "Neo Kaiser Glider" once per turn.
Rating: 3
Comments: Even though the effects are pretty bad, it's still good as a Beatstick.
Red-Eyes Alternative Black Dragon
DARK / Dragon / Level 7 / ATK 2400 / DEF 2000
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) by Tributing 1 "Red-Eyes" monster from your hand or field. You can only Special Summon "Red-Eyes Alternative Black Dragon" once per turn this way. If this card is destroyed by battle, or if this card in its owner's possession is destroyed by an opponent's card effect: You can target 1 Level 7 or lower "Red-Eyes" monster in your GY, except "Red-Eyes Alternative Black Dragon"; Special Summon it, and if it was a "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" that was Special Summoned, its original ATK becomes doubled.
Rating: 2
Comments: When one wants an alternative, they generally want a better one than what they have. This guy isn't a better alternative to other Red-Eyes monsters.
Palladium Oracle Mana
LIGHT / Spellcaster / Level 6 / ATK 2000 / DEF 1700
When your opponent activates a card or effect that targets 1 Spellcaster monster you control (and no other cards), while this card is in your hand or GY (Quick Effect): You can Special Summon this card. You can only use this effect of "Palladium Oracle Mana" once per turn. Level 7 or higher Spellcaster monsters you control cannot be destroyed by card effects. If this card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon 1 "Dark Magician Girl" from your hand, Deck, or GY.
Rating: 2
Comments: Unfortunately, it's not much better than the original or its counterparts but you don't have to Tribute anything to bring her out.
