Deadblow |

These toys were probably the next best thing to being the
actual robot (except maybe the R/C toys). This one had all the features of the
real robot! The weapon is the only difference as it is not only soft (probably
for safety reasons) but it continuously strikes instead of just once, then
retreating back up (although I guess they thought that would be lame, or didn't
quite know how to make it only do one strike at a time). |
Overkill |

Like Deadblow, this one was also designed
exactly like the real version. However, its blade doesn't go all the way back,
or at least have the mid-section move to allow this 180 degree motion but at
least it goes all the way forward and is flexible like the real one. Flipping it
over also doesn't allow the blade to swing at all (the body design prevents
this). |
Ronin |
|
The instructions for putting this one together
were off slightly where they want the sticker for the blade on after the blade
is in place, which doesn't work. The treads are another problem; they're too
stiff to allow Ronin to move properly and the wheels aren't tall enough to allow
him to move without them. The blade is also sluggish as well. He at least was
also successfully made to look exactly like his real-life counterpart. |
Backlash |
|
The builders of this one did pretty well with
getting this one to look like Jim's real creation on the show except for one
thing: His wedge. The wedge has an axle that sticks out on both ends to secure
the wedge to the frame (although it probably could've been made to be one entire
piece) and the wedge doesn't allow Backlash to sit on the floor without the
wedge "opening" slightly. |
Tazbot |
|
The only problem I had with this one is getting
the bottom to fit into the chassis as it just wouldn't quite fit (even my mom
had trouble with this). Everything else is pretty well constructed but the actual
part of his turret doesn't extend completely upward to let him completely right
himself. |

This one was well made, however not as well
made as others like Deadblow. The stickers they give you can and probably will
begin to peel, thus slowing down the already slow spinning dome. Speaking of the
stickers, they follow the Season 3.0 design of the robot and two of them are
pretty long so getting each sticker where you want it is key. There is that handle they give you to allow
you to battle with it, which comes in handy (no pun intended) to actually hold
the bot and not worry about injuring yourself. |
