Yu-Gi-Oh Anime Cards (Page 64)

*Card effects below are as accurate as possible.
Episode 20: Roots of the Problem
Automatic Gearspring Machine
Anime Continuous Spell
When you activate this card, place 2 Gearspring Counters on it. During each of your Standby Phases, place 1 Gearspring Counter on this card. During your Main Phase, you can send this face-up card to the Graveyard to place Gearspring Counters on another card you can place a Gearspring Counter on, equal to the number of Gearspring Counters that were on this card.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: The only other Gearspring card that can gain these is Gearspring Catapult but we don't have that card yet either so this won't do much good until that card gets released.
Iron Draw
Anime Normal Spell
Activate only if you control exactly 2 Machine-Type monsters. Draw 2 cards.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: We have a few ways to meet this card's activation requirements but you can't control more or less than two Machine-Type monsters.
Gearspring Catapult
Anime Continuous Spell
During each of your Standby Phases, place 1 Gearspring Counter on this card. You can remove 1 Gearspring Counter from this card to have 1 face-up monster you control gain 500 ATK until the End Phase.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: While it doesn't have limits regarding how many Gearspring Counters it can have or that you can remove, the ATK boost doesn't last long.
Spring Punch
Anime Equip Spell
Equip only to a Machine-Type monster. When the equipped monster gains ATK, inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the equipped monster's ATK. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this effect.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It only goes to Machine-Type monsters but with the right cards, you can deal some pretty hefty damage.
Episode 18: It's in the Cards (2)
Comeback
Anime Normal Spell
Select 1 face-up monster your opponent controls that you own. Take control of it. This card's activation and effect cannot be negated.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Monsters generally don't stay stolen for long and since this isn't a Quick-Play Spell or a Trap Card, there's no way to use it during your opponent's turn and we don't have many ways of stealing monsters these days.
Twilight Dance
Anime Continuous Spell
Monsters cannot be Special Summoned from either Graveyard.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: There are some uses for Decks that don't really use a Graveyard but this'd still get banned for crippling Graveyard-centered Decks.
Xyz Weight
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's Xyz Monster declares a direct attack. Until the end of the Battle Phase, the opponent's Xyz Monster's loses 800 ATK for each Xyz Material attached to it.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Xyz Summons remain very common, especially with the release of Zoodiacs, even with them being affected by the Banned List. Though Zoodiacs are pretty vulnerable on their own so this'd have to be used on other ones. Plus, that Xyz Monster must declare a direct attack first.
Freezing Dance
Anime Continuous Trap
Neither player can Normal Summon, Set, or Special Summon monsters from the hand. Destroy this card during your opponent's 2nd End Phase after activation.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: A major lockdown card but you're affected too and that'll make the duel pretty boring during the time this card is active.
Xyz Plant
Anime Normal Spell
Select 1 face-up monster you control. Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (Plant-Type/EARTH/ATK 0/DEF 0). (This card is also still a Spell Card.) While this card is a monster, it always has the same Level as the selected monster, also it cannot be used for anything, except as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It's restrained to becoming Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon but works on any monster for its activation, though its stats as a monster are pretty poor.
Rainbow Shaman
LIGHT / Spellcaster / Level 7 / ATK 0 / DEF 0
If your opponent controls a face-up Xyz Monster and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your hand.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: The strict Special Summoning requirements and having no other effects make this card pretty much useless.
Voltage Summon
Anime Normal Spell
Tribute all "Kurivolt Tokens" you control, then Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your Deck for each Token Tributed. Their effects are negated, and their original ATK and DEF become 0.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Our version of Kurivolt doesn't Special Summon tokens so unless this accepts any Tokens or those tokens become available for th card game, we're really not going to be able to use this.
Episode 17: It's in the Cards (1)
Green Shaman
DARK / Spellcaster / Level 4 / ATK 0 / DEF 0
When an opponent's Spell Card is activated, you can Special Summon 1 "Shaman" monster from your hand.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Fortuno did have a somewhat easier method of getting this guy out but it really doesn't have any more playability than the others.
Shaman Call
Anime Normal Spell
Activate only when you control 2 or more face-up Spellcaster-Type monsters with 0 ATK. Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Shaman" monster from your Deck.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Not much you'll be able to do with the new monster or the old one as their ATK prevents using them to attack with, though there are other sub-par options.
Dance of the Guardian
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Select 1 random card in your opponent's hand, and if that card is a Monster Card, negate the attack and send that card to the Graveyard, then draw 1 card.
COMMON
Rating: 1
Comments: Risks like this generally aren't worth it because you know nothing about what's in your opponent's hand so you'll likely just be temporarily interrupting the attack for nothing.
Red Shaman
DARK / Spellcaster / Level 4 / ATK 0 / DEF 0
When an opponent's Trap Card is activated, you can Special Summon 1 "Shaman" monster from your hand.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Just as weak as Orange Shaman but also just as likely to be somewhat useful.
Orange Shaman
DARK / Spellcaster / Level 4 / ATK 0 / DEF 0
When your opponent Normal or Special Summons an Effect Monster, you can Special Summon 1 "Shaman" monster from your hand.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It's specific to Effect Monsters but now that Special Summons are pretty much linked to Effect Monsters in today's meta, this'd help out a bit but isn't built to withstand attacks.
Episode 16: Training Days (2) (Continued)
Revenge Attack
Anime Quick-Play Spell
Activate only when a monster you control attacks an opponent's monster and the opponent's monster is not destroyed by battle. Your monster can attack once again in a row and gains 1000 ATK.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It's really only useful if the monster it attacked is only able to prevent its destruction once per turn or had the first attack prevent its destruction by an opponent's card effect but 1000 more ATK isn't all that bad since it'll probably deal more damage.
Decrease
Anime Quick-Play Spell
Select 1 face-up monster you control that has a Level. Reduce that monster's Level by 2, until the End Phase.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Demotion already does this while it's equipped but this is also a Quick-Play Spell.
Guts Guard
Anime Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster selects a monster you control as an attack target. Select 1 monster you control, except the attack target and change the attack target to the selected monster. The selected monster cannot be destroyed by battle this turn.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: Your opponent's new attack target will survive the attack but you'll probably still take Battle Damage and it only works against attacks, unlike Staunch Defender.
Armor Ninjitsu Art of Revival
Anime Normal Spell
Special Summon 1 "Ninja" monster from your Graveyard.
COMMON
Rating: 2
Comments: It doesn't have to be a Ninja with specific properties but there aren't many good ones to pick from.
