Episode 105: Put to the Test (1) | |
Inside the ship, Astral is sensing something great and is holding two
Number cards, which show him the stories of two Barians as humans.
Meanwhile, Yuma recalls Alito and his changes but Shark snaps him out of
it and figures that perhaps Yuma just saw how Alito truly is.
Regardless, Orbital 7 announces their upcoming arrival on the 4th
Mytherian Number Card but Tori hopes for a more lighthearted story
should there be another legend. At the front of the ship, Kite notices
that his Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon card is calling out to him and
wonders if they'll be in for a duel. In Barian World, Dumon cannot
understand why he was able to understand the legend but Mizar arrives
and learns of what happened. Furthermore, Dumon suggests that perhaps
there's a link from Yuma and crew to themselves but Mizar heads off to
ensure the others don't get anymore Mytherian Numbers. Meanwhile, the ship's controls aren't responding to Orbital's inputs so they're forced to make a crash landing. When they do, it's exactly where the map says the next Number card is. They step out and Yuma figures the next Number card is at the top of the mountain before them. However, Orbital, Tori and Rio aren't up for climbinng so the others head off without them. As the ascend a dragon roars out, leaving Kite to realize that this is why his GEPD is so angry. Worse still, boulders begin falling and Kite is nearly sent plummeting down to the ground but Yuma saves him. While Tori and others prepare to enjoy snacks Rio brought along, Yuma and crew arrive at the top but it's foggy and the bulding that they see isn't what they expected. They enter and feel like someone was expecting them, like a Barien. However, Yuma smells food and makes his way toward it, ready to chow down any second. However, he's swatted away by an old man, whom claims to own the food as his lunch and sees right through Yuma's lies. Kite interrupts to pardon Yuma and sees that the old man also has a dragon, revealing himself as Jinlon, the guardian of the Number card they seek. Astral notes of what their two recently acquired Number cards told him and Jinlon realizes Astral knows about the legend too. Kite will be the one to duel as he believes it's fate that brought him here. Jinlon accepts and puts up the Number card on his end while Kite will lose GEPD should Jinlon defeat him. Duel preparations get underway before Kite wants to know about the legend. Jinlong may tell Kite if he wins and draws. Next he plays Mythic Tree Dragon (100) in Attack Mode. Since he has MTD on the field, Jinlon Special Summons Mythic Water Dragon (1000) in Attack Mode. Since MWD is WATER, Jinlon uses MTD's effect to double its Level to Level 8. (The real card can adapt its Level to the Level of the targeted WATER monster, which would still be 8 in this case.) With that, he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 46: Dragluon (3000) in Attack Mode. Kite is willing to decide whether the new monster is a formidable opponent so Jinlon activates its effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and Special Summon a Dragon-Type monster from his hand like Armed Protector Dragon (2000) in Attack Mode. As a result, Number 46 disappears because APD saves it from harm. (The real APD only prevents the destruction of your Equip Cards.) Worse still, Jinlon equips APD with Dragon Shield, preventing its destruction in battle and reducing Battle Damage Jinlon takes from its battles to 0. Furthermore, since APDS is equipped with an Equip Spell, it gains 500 ATK to 2500. (The real card gains 500 ATK for each Equip Card equipped to it.) They just need to destroy Dragon Shield but due to Number 46's other effect, they can't destroy any card equipped to APD. (The real card doesn't have this protection.) With that, Jinlon ends his turn so Kite draws and plays Overlay Sentinel (2000) in Attack Mode. Next, since he controls a monster with at least 2000 ATK, Kite Special Summons Overlay Booster (2000) in Attack Mode. With that, he Tributes his monsters for Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode. Yuma wonders if it'll be enough and Shark reminds Yuma of the same move that defeated him. Due to Number 46's additional effect, GEPD's effects are negated since it's a Dragon-Type monster. Kite is ready however and uses Book of Moon to put APD face-down. His attack takes out the hidden APD but the duel is only a test for Kite and Jinlon is pleased thus far, realizing that Kite and Mizar have more in common. Kite dismisses it and sets 1 card to end his turn, believing he's ready for anything Jinlon throws at him. While Mizar arrives and feels the dragon's power, Jinlon draws and uses Number 46's effect to detach its last Xyz Material and Special Summon Soul Drain Dragon (4000) in Attack Mode. Worse still, SDD's effect gives its ATK equal to Kite's LPs, putting it at 8000. (The real card only gains ATK equal to the difference in LPs if yours are lower, and thus you can't deal damage to your opponent in that case.) Should Kite destroy SDD, he'll take half its ATK as damage. (Not so with the real card, especially with what I've stated earlier.) Kite is in a very difficult situation and playtime is over for him! |
