| Episode 93: An Imperfect Couple (2) | |

At the duel, Yuma is still in awe at the sight of Skypalace Gangaridai but needs
to protect himself. If only he had a monster to activate Half-Unbreak but he
realizes he doesn't need one and activates Half Unbreak
to protect SG from destruction and halve the Battle Damage, bringing him down to
1400 LPs. It's enough to impress Brooke and Mayday before Mayday sets 1 card to
end his turn. Yuma draws and doesn't waste any time playing
Dododo Warrior (2300) in Attack Mode by lowering
its ATK by 500 to 1800. Next he uses Xyz Reception
to Special Summon Chachaka Archer (1200) in Attack
Mode since it's Level matches DW and Mayday controls an Xyz Monster and Yuma
does not (though they leave out that it also makes the Special Summoned
monster's ATK and DEF 0). With that, Yuma uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Gauntlet Launcher (2400) in Attack Mode. Next, he uses Xyz Treasure to draw 2 cards since there are 2 Xyz Monsters out. Then he uses GL's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and destroy SG but Brooke is ready with Xyz Coat to prevent SG's destruction his turn. Regardless, Yuma decides to attack Brooke directly but Mayday activates Xyz Move to give control of SG to Brooke and negate the attack. Yuma sets 1 card but before he can end his turn, Anna activates Upgrade to Tribute GL and Special Summon Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max (3000) in Attack Mode from her Graveyard and raise its ATK by 600 to 3600. Yuma still isn't happy and is forced to end his turn so Brooke draws Barian's Force and is corrupted by it. Next, she activates Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force to use Skypalace Gangaridai as Xyz Material for Chaos Xyz Skypalace Babylon (CXyz Skypalace Babylon in the CG) (3800) in Attack Mode. Worse still, Brooke uses SB's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and let it attack twice. (The real card must destroy a monster in battle first.) Her first attack forces Yuma to activate Reverse Glasses to halve the ATK of each face-up monster, bringing SB down to 1900 and Gustav Max down to 1800. It's not enough for GM to survive and it's still taken out, bringing Anna down to 1900 LPs. Furthermore, due to SB's other effect, Anna takes half of Gustav Max's ATK as damage, bringing her down to 1000. Brooke isn't done and attacks Anna directly but Yuma Special Summons Gentlemander (1200) in Attack Mode and make it the attack target. As a result, Gentlemander is destroyed and Yuma is down to 700 LPs, then 100 LPs by SB's other effect. (The real card can be Special Summoned in Defense Mode too.) Brooke sets 1 card to end her turn so Anna draws and summons Ruffian Railcar (1800) in Attack Mode and proceeds to attack Mayday directly but Brooke activates Xyz Move to negate the attack and shift control of SB back to Mayday, leaving Astral to believe that the bond between Brooke and Mayday is quite strong. Nevertheless, Anna uses RR's other effect to deal Brooke 500 damage, bringing her down to 2500 LPs before setting 1 card to end her turn. Mayday draws and attacks Yuma directly but Anna is ready with the very card Brooke gave her, Devoted Love to negate the attack, let Yuma draw 1 card and reduce her own LPs to 0 at the end of the turn. Yuma's draw troubles Astral but Yuma isn't willing to explain just yet and draws before playing Gagaga Magician (1500) in Attack Mode. Next he uses it and RR as Xyz Material for Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode. Despite Astral's protest, Yuma activates Rank-Up-Magic Limited Barian's Force to use Utopia as Xyz Material for Chaos Number 39: Utopia Ray V (" ") (2600) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Ray V's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself, destroy Skypalace Babylon and inflict damage to Mayday equal to his destroyed monster's ATK, defeating him. Finally, he attacks Brooke directly to win the duel and free Brooke but Brooke has no memories after drawing Barian's Force. That evening, Brooke explains that she loves dueling too much to ever quit and is just taking a break. When she does return to dueling, she suggests a friendly rematch and to tell her "boyfriend" about it and shoves her into Yuma and forcing the duo off balance. That night, while Yuma sleeps, Astral reflects on the duel but cannot help feeling that playing the Barian card was a mistake. |
