Episode 87: Dual Duel (1) | |
In an alley, Mizar finds the news most troubling and Girag is determined to
avenge Alito using the last Sphere Cube but Mizar reminds him of their goals for
Barian World and orders him to stay there while Alito is taken for care. Though
Girag assures he's understood Mizar's words, when Mizar departs with Alito,
Girag maintains that his revenge cannot wait. The next day, Yuma and Ray are
being chased by a dog that soon gains company but the duo arrive safely and Yuma
never knew he could run that fast. Ray realizes that perhaps his way isn't so
good and Flip and Caswell only make things worse. At least his way isn't boring
because there's always danger around the corner. Outside, the group discuss why
Astral hasn't been around when Girag arrives to request Yuma to pass an invite
to Ray to duel him and doesn't like waiting around since they have a score to
settle. The news that Ray attacked Alito is unsettling to the group so Yuma tries to make Ray innocent but Girag doesn't buy it and walks away. That night, Yuma shares the news with Astral, whom says to follow his instincts to solve the problem. The next morning, Yuma is ready to tell Ray but Ray has his own agenda and shows Yuma the totally safe way to school. When school ends, Yuma is nowhere to be found as Ray explains the situation. Bronk and Tori bolt at the thought of telling Ray Yuma lied and when Tori blurts out their secret, Ray is close enough to take it in. Meanwhile, Yuma arrives to the duel to explain to Girag that Ray isn't coming but Girag doesn't accept this news right away until he gets really angry from Yuma's words. However, Ray shows up at last with Tor, Bronk, and Astral but Girag is now so angry he agrees to take on Ray and Yuma together. As a result, duel preparations get underway as the trio prepare to face up in a Sphere Field. In spite of the pain, Astral decides to stay out of the key in case Ray puts Yuma in danger. After Girag shows his Barian form, he draws and plays Fire Hand (1600) in Attack Mode, then after attaching the monster to himself, he sets 1 card to end his turn. Ray draws and summons Shining Destroyer (0000) in Attack Mode, a move that leaves everyone but Girag worried (though it's not a bad thing if the monster in question has a good effect). With that, Ray sets 1 card to end his turn so Yuma draws and Special Summons Dododo Buster (1900) in Attack Mode since DB was Summoned by its effect, it becomes a Level 4 monster. Then he summons Ganbara Knight (0000) in Attack Mode and uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 39: Utopia (2500) in Attack Mode. Yuma sets 1 card to end his turn so Girag draws and summons Ice Hand (1600) in Attack Mode (though its card at 15:27 into the episode shows it with the same ATK as the real card's even though it doesn't). With the 2nd hand attached to him, Girag uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 106: Giant Hand (2000) in Attack Mode. His attack forces Yuma to use Utopia's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and negate the attack. However, Girag uses Number 106's effect to detach an Xyz Material from itself and negate Utopia's effect. (The real card requires you to detach 2 Xyz Materials to use this effect.) Girag resumes his attack and takes out SD to leave Ray down to 2000 LPs. Due to SD's effect, Girag takes 600 damage since it was destroyed but Girag activates Hand Block to reduce effect damage to him to 0 since he controls a Hand monster. Worse still, Girag notes that SD inflicts 600 damage to all players but since Girag used HB he takes none while Yma is down to 3400 LPs and Ray is down to 1400 LPs. Astral urges Yuma to stop protecting Ray as it's leaving himself vulnerable but Yuma won't give up on a friend an Astral takes a final jolt of pain that leaves him incapacitated on the ground. Will Astral wake up? |
