Episode 78: The Adventures of Artimus Stanleyus | |
At school, everyone chats about the possible results of their exam until an
individual interrupts them, revealing himself as Art Stanley, the only member of
the club he's a part of. Stanley wants Yuma to be in his new comic and shows his
rendition of Yuma as a superhero but Shark gets his attention and the admiration
is cut short. However, Shark finds the drawing lame and walks away. Stanley gets
Shark by the shoulder to try and get a better answer but Shark shoves him aside
and loses the ring on his finger. Seeing the ring, Stanley goes to pick it up
but Shark gets it himself and resumes his trek away. Yuma finds Stanley's sketchbook and Stanley can't fathom losing it since it holds everything he's drawn in his life. They're eager to see the comic when it's done and race to catch up with Shark, whom doesn't care about his test results. At the hospital, Shark wishes he could do more for Rio and recalls a feud they got into when Shark didn't understand the point of the rings. Still possessing both, he gives one to Rio. He'd do anything to keep her safe but the duo aren't alone as Stanley watches from behind a door. Stanley returns to Girag to report the news and his plan and Girag not only approves but shows his own comic in progress. The next day, Yuma and the others are on their way to see Rio and Ray has brought a boatload of candy that is useless for the still-resting Rio so Yuma offers to take it all for himself. However, Shark races out to report that Rio isn't there. Stanley arrives, knowing where Rio is but won't reveal the location unless Shark duels him. Shark accepts and is going to make Stanley regret messing with his sister. After duel preparations take place, Shark draws and summons Shocktopus (1600) in Attack Mode. Next he tributes it for Sharkraken (2400) in Attack Mode, then sets 1 card to end his turn. Stanley draws and activates Comic Field, sharing a bit of what the story behind it is about, then summons Lancelot, Knight of the Lake (1500) in Attack Mode. Next he uses Vow of the Sword to Special Summon Tristan, Knight of Tragedy (1400) in Attack Mode since he controls a Warrior-Type monster. Now he uses his monsters as Xyz Material for Comics Hero King Arthur (2400) in Attack Mode. Since Lancelot became Xyz Material, Sharkraken loses 800 ATK, bring it down to 1600. His attack prompts Shark to activate Zeus' Breath (Poseidon Wave in the CG) to negate the attack and deal Stanley 800 damage. However, Stanley explains that Rio is located in a dungeon of his comic and should Shark win, there's no telling what'll happen to Rio once the Field Spell is destroyed. Shark decides against it and Stanley's attack connects, destroying Sharkraken and leaving Shark down to 3200 LPs. Finally, Stanley sets 1 card to end his turn. Since Stanley created this world, Tori realizes they can possibly erase it. While Yuma, Ray and Astral search for the sketchbook, Shark draws and summons Hammer Shark (1700) in Attack Mode. Unsatisfied with Shark's monster, Stanley activates Ordeal of the Hero to force Shark to Special Summon 2 monsters with the same Level as HS. Shark brings out Spear Shark (1600) and Double Shark (1200) in Attack Mode. After that, he uses his 3 monsters as Xyz Material for Number 32: Shark Drake (2800) in Attack Mode. His attack does not take out CHKA (though they make it seem that way) to leave Stanley on the ground and down to 3600 LPs. However, due to CF's effect, CHKA isn't destroyed and gains 500 ATK instead, giving it 2900 ATK. Furthermore since CHKA's ATK changed, Stanley detaches an Xyz Material from CHKA to deal Shark damage equal to the difference, bringing him down by 500 to 2700. (The real card only deals damage when it uses its effect to detach an Xyz Material and only deals 500 damage when it does so.) Shark ends his turn by setting 1 card so Stanley draws and equips CHKA with Miracle Sword, giving it another 500 ATK to 3400. Next he uses CHKA's effect again to detach an Xyz Material and deal Shark Damage equal to its previous and current ATK, bringing Shark down to 2200. Stanley's attack with CHKA does not destroy Number 32 but leaves Shark down to 1600 LPs. Since CHKA didn't destroy a monster in battle, Stanley uses MS' other effect to send itself to the Graveyard and activate Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force to use CHKA as Xyz Material for Chaos Xyz Comics Hero Legend Arthur (CXyz Comics Hero Legend Arthur in the CG) (3000) in Attack Mode. Due to Barian's Force's other effects, CHLA gains all of Shark Drake's Xyz Materials, giving it 3 more and Shark Drake loses 300 ATK for each one that it lost, bring it down by 900 to 1900. Stanley takes out the weakened Shark Drake to leave Shark down to 500 LPs but Yuma reports that they've not only found the sketchbook but the story inside it and Stanley shares the tragic ending. Regardless, Yuma convinces Shark to get back up and Shark gets Rio to appear in the castle with her eyes visible for the first time. Outraged that Shark changed the story, Stanley proceeds to use CHLA's effect but Shark has a different plan and activates Torrential Reborn to revive Shark Drake and deal Stanley 500 damage, bringing Stanley down to 3100 LPs. Next he draws and uses Shark Drake as Xyz Material for Chaos Number 32: Shark Drake Veiss (Number C32: Shark Drake Veiss in the CG) (2800) in Attack Mode. Then he uses Shark Drake Veiss' effect to detach Number 32, then banish it and drain CHLA of 2800 ATK, bringing it down to 200. After that, he uses Surging Erosion to destroy CF and give his WATER monsters 500 ATK, raising Veiss' ATK to 3300. His attack not only takes out CHLA to win the duel but returns Stanley to normal and Girag heads off to find better puppets. Rio and Shark head home but the next day, Shark gets another artwork drawn for him but doesn't care for it either. Yuma is still in the comic but now comic relief and Astral notes that Yuma makes a good cartoon character in real life. |
