Episode 63: The Hart of the Matter
In Hart's room, Kite has returned to say the time has come but number hunting has taken his toll and he's weak but vows to continue until Vetrix pays for what he's done. In Heartland City, Mr. Heartland announces the start of the next duel and while Vetrix appears, Kite is stopped by Yuma but cares more about Astral and says little before taking his place on the platform. Yuma races out just as the platform is being raised and barely manages to cling on but while Orbital 7 wants Yuma gone, Kite gets him to allow Yuma to see the duel. Vetrix snickers, knowing that Dr. Faker is watching and Dr. Faker wants to see him crushed, revealing Vetrix's true name as Byron. Kite vows to dish out some punishment and is no mood for surprises. Duel preparations take place before Kite draws and summons Photon Crusher (2000) in Attack Mode. Next he equips it with Photon Spear to allow it to count as 2 Tributes and Tributes PC for Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon (3000) in Attack Mode. With that, he sets 1 card to end his turn and Yuma gets to see a bit of the shape Kite is in. Even Vetrix can see how bad Kite is and draws. Next he plays Heraldic Beast Basilisk (1000) in Attack Mode. Then, he equips GEPD with Heraldry Blast, which'll deal half of GEPD's ATK to Kite's LPs when HBB is destroyed. Vetrix then attacks but Kite uses GEPD's effect to remove from play both monsters until the end of the Battle Phase. Finally, Vetrix sets 1 card to end his turn. Vetrix is impressed with Kite's dueling skills, especially given the shape he's in and tells a story of how he came to be thanks to Dr. Faker. Regardless, Kite doesn't like Vetrix and draws before playing Photon Satellite (0000) in Attack Mode. Due to PS' effect, it gains GEPD's Level to make itself Level 9 and counts as 2 monsters. (The real card doesn't count as 2 Xyz Monsters for an Xyz Summon.) Now he he uses his "two" PS as Xyz Material for Number 9: Dyson Sphere (2800) in Attack Mode. Furthermore, he equips GEPD with Photon Wing to raise its ATK by Number 9's Rank x 200, giving it 1800 ATK to 4800 and letting it attack directly. Kite attacks Vetrix directly but when the smoke clears, Vetrix activated Heraldry Change to Special Summon Heraldic Beast Aberconway (1800) in Attack Mode and reduce the Battle Damage by that monster's Level x 1000. As a result, Vetrix only takes 800 points of damage, bringing his score down to 3200. To Kite's horror, Vetrix removes the mask and reveals the rest of his face, which is simply a hologram of Hart's face. Dr. Faker is also not amused but Vetrix reveals that he and Hart are now fused as one and shows Kite the unconscious Hart. When Vetrix adds literal insult to injury by making Hart feel pain, Dr. Faker orders to have Hart checked at once. The guards are quick to find that the door is jammed and there's no way in. Kite starts to run but Vetrix snares him back so Yuma and Orbital decide to take the job for themselves. Vetrix resumes by using his monsters as Xyz Material for Number 8: Heraldic King Genom-Heritage (2400) in Attack Mode. Next, he uses Number 8's main effect to detach an Xyz Material and make it so when it battles, it makes the ATK of the other monster 0 and makes its own ATK equal to the ATK of the other monster, making it unstoppable. He attacks with it, making Dyson Sphere's ATK 0 and its own ATK 2800 but when Kite goes to use Dyson Sphere's effect to give it 2 Xyz Materials, Vetrix detaches a 2nd Xyz Material to activate Number 8's 2nd effect to take Dyson Sphere's effect. The attack resumes, taking out Dyson Sphere and leaving Kite on the ground and down to 1200 LPs. Vetrix sets 1 card to end his turn, taunting Kite and Hart even more and Kite doesn't know how to get out of this because attacking Vetrix is attacking Hart. Kite doesn't want to but he has to and while Yuma approaches, Vetrix taunts Dr. Faker as well. Both of Dr. Faker's sons will be crushed and Vetrix won't go easy on Kite either!
